Macy sat at one of the large tables in the library, reading a textbook, and making notes, on Gifts from the North - the secrets about the power of Ice for her elemental class. She started to chew of her pen, as she flicked a page, and looked down at her notebook. She was proud of her Ice notebook. She had neatly frosted the spine and cover of it, and had written in it in her best handwriting, and in different colours, trying to make sense of her notes when it came to exams. But looked at the front cover of it, it had originally been plain, but Steve had gotten his hand of it, and had drawn illustrations around it, for her. She turned back to her page, trying to focus on her work, but looked up as someone walked by. It was a girl, and Macy knew immediately that she was in her beloved Academics. "Abby, right?" She called out, trying to get attention. She was in want of a distraction from her work, and found that this was a perfect time to get to know fellow Academics.

Abby clutched a big volume to her chest as she made her way up to the desk to get it checked out. "Abby, right?" a voice suddenly shot out of nowhere to her left. She turned around to find a blonde girl sitting writing up on her notes for the exams soon to come. "Yes, I guess I am," Abby smiled and sat opposite her, "You must be the famous Macy Deltine, Head of the Academics!" She smiled a toothy one and put the book lightly on the table and saw the frost cover Macy's own book. "Ice, very cool," she eyed it and rolled her eyes at her rudeness, "Sorry, I'm Abby, Abby Sciuto-Perrette. But either of the surnames will do," She shook Macy's hand and looked at her. She was finally meeting her head.

Macy smiled and shook Abby's hand. She tried her hardest not to get her hand frozen to hers, as that had happened before the Macy when she shook people's hands, and it wasn't the nicest expirence. To Macy's relief, the handshake was fine. "Sit down, if you want. I'm just doing homework that I can do later." She said, laughing. She closed the textbook and set it infront of her. "So, how are you?" She asked, laughing. She fiddled with her hair a bit, as she would when she was slightly nervous.

"Oh, I'm very happy. Bit tired though," Abby said. Seh talked very fast as usualy when she met new people. It wasn't the case of the nerves she just got excited meeting new people. "The question is, how are you?" Abby asked enthusiastically.

"Oh, I'm fine. A bit tired, though, but other than that, I'm fine. How are your classes?" She asked, tapping her pen against the wooden table. She liked to know how people were doing in their classes, incase they wanted her to speak to the teachers, or anything. Anything for her to use her powers as the head of the Academics. She realised that her fingers where frosting the pen, and she quickly melted it, and began tapping it again.

"I'm ok. The only thing I am a bit stuck in is my music," Abby said. She should know how to do this stuff, she was an Academic for crying out loud! "How are yours going?"

"They're fine. Nothing really exciting, though, just fine." She said, leaning on elbow. She looked around the library, and noticed a couple of books were lying around the sofas, abandoned, and a Warrior and Carer had just walked in and were talking to the librarian. She looked back at Abby and smiled. She was feeling quite tired and wanted to go to bed, but insisted herself to stay up. With Steve still in the Hospital Wing, she couldn't sleep that well. He kept on telling her that he would get out later that day, but the nurse would keep making him stay longer, to make sure that he was fine. She pushed her thought out of her brain nad turned back to the girl by her. "So, what powers do you have?" She asked.

"Me? I have a the rare power of projection and I can also stretch to impossible lengths than the standard human body can and I'm also poisonous but don't worry, I can control it pretty well," Abby gave a tiny hesitant laugh. "What about you, apart from Ice,"

"Um, I can shape-shift, and I have a rather good memory." Macy said, giving a light laugh. "But I wasn't born with my powers, you know, it's weird how I got them. But anyway, I have them and I'm here." She said, smiling. "So, um, what books do you like reading? You know, since we're in a library..." She asked.

"Me? I like to read all kinds. But my genres are mainly science, my mums murder mystery series and like the 30's-50's era. What about you?" she started to fiddle with her pigtails.

"Um, I basically like anything, but I really like dark novels from 1920's to the 60's. Things like 1984 and The Catcher in the Rye. They're really good, you know? I like reading everthing, though." She said, laughing. "Have you ever read Edgar Allen Poe? I love his work, it's amazing. I think my friend is borrowing my copy of it, at the moment." She said, leaning on her seat. She felt a draft of air come in though the doors. She turned around and saw a couple of people leaving the room. She then turned back to Abby and set her hands on the table, making a small pathc of ice grow on the wood.

"Yeah! I love The Raven. It's got to be my favourite of his" Abby agreed. She watched some people leave and a couple enter. Then she turned her attention back to her Head, who was currently making an icy path on the table. "That's cool," she said after a moment, "I wish I had an elemental power!"

"Yeah, it's strange you don't. Powers usually come in threes, and it's usually random what you have, but one of them is usually an elemental. But there's always an exception." She said, laughing. "But, I don't really like 'The Raven' as much, I prefer his other stories. You know, he was the first to write a mystery novel." She said, fiddling with her hair. "So, what music do you like?" She asked, trying to think of anything to continue the conversation with.

"All sorts really," she replied fiddling with her hair. "You know, I love this place, I've travelled all over South America and this is my favourite place yet,"

"Oh, cool. I hardly have been any where, you know. Like, Europe, and that's about it. My umum used to travel all over the world before I was born, and for a while, but then she just settled soon, when she got bored. And the new teacher Professor Gonzalez is from Peru, too, I think. Madeleine Baudelaire and I met her on the train back from the Christmas holidays." She said, thinking back to the train, when she was told that Steve was missing. She took a deep breath, trying not to think more about it, as she would always want to cry when she thought about how she felt when she was told about him. She looked up to Abby and smiled, trying not to make her think that anything was wrong. "So, what parts of the States are you from? Sorry, I just detected an accent..." She said, laughing.
