Energy was surging through every fibre in her body as Jack came up beside her. He bowed with one of the most gorgeous smiles she had seen on him ever, "Ladies first." Will couldn't hold it in any longer, she burst out laughing and before she knew it her flames were bigger and she was about to go before she realised something. "We need to set the course first, otherwise it's not really a race. She soared higher into the air and looked everywhere around her. She deciphered the longest and quite difficult course to race through. "Right, up here you," she beckoned Jack to her, "Right this is the course. Go out to about halway across the lake, around everyinch of the school you can, around the most dense parts of the forest out around the fields and we have to do it twice," she smiled at herself. Ok, she had done half of that course before but that was not with fire, she had walked it. Jacks eyes were amused and now that he knew the course, well it wasn't an exact science, he was going to win, they both knew it. That didn't really matter to Will, she just wanted a bit of fun and this gave her fun and freedom at the same time. Will spun really fast in the air before stoppin and bits of fire flyign in every direction, creating a little fire tornado before she sped of to the west and dived straight down for the water and did a handbrake turn before she hit the surface. She skimmed the top and the wind was...cold. It was nice. She felt free.

Will was off like a shot, but Jack, with an unexpected thrill he wasn't quite sure belonged to the competition, followed like a loose rocket. In class, Jack was often told to put a lid on it; and keep some of that excess energy in. In Warrior Training, Madeleine didn't need to tell Jack twice to take it easy. Out here, in the sky, authority held no power over him. It was a jog across the lake for him. He mainly kept below her, but every so often, he would swerve in front of her and tauntingly call to her; spurring her on. At the halfway point, both swerved upwards sharply, bursting through the clouds in unison. A lazy trail of smoke floated in their wake.

The clouds; nothing but water particles, were trying their best to soak them but their fire was greater. They burst out of the clouds again and headed straight for the school. They swerved, looped , dived, rolled and more all over the schoool before starting into the forest where she over took Jack for a tiny bit before he zoomed infront of her again. She knew Jack was going to win but who cared, she was free and being free suited her best. "Jack, you're on fire!" she shouted randomly. Then she turned onto her back so she was staring at the canopy above her. The suns rays shone through and she glided on her back with ease and sped forward while Jack kept taunting her, to move her forward. She glided over a fallen down tree and then turned back and sped forward and was now neck to neck with Jack.

As he soared level with Will again, Jack kicked back into a lazy back-stroke through the air, before, looking up at just the right moment, and back-flipping over a low-hanging branch. Zooming upwards again, above the forest canopy, where he was most likely to not set a forest fire, and looked forward instead, to the fast approaching, blurred fields. Checking behind him to see where Will was, Jack decided to literally heat things up a bit. With a hard kick, Jack shot forwards through the sky and down across the now open fields; his out-stretching, flame-free hands almost skimming the roof of the little farmhouse as he sailed overhead. There. That should challenge her more to keep up.

Dámn him to the deepest pit of hell, with all his speedyness. Will glared at the back of his head before speeding up and just about up beside his feet with her head. "God Jack, you're too blooming fast," she called playfully to him but irritated at the same time. Just one of his many.....hot....talents, though. Another bonus to add! "True," she muttered under her breath before spurring on some more and reaching his knees....just.

Jack, feeling guilty for zooming so far forward so quickly, flipped back, so that his head drew level with hers. The sparks from the flames spat backwards in the light breeze, and Jack turned his head to grin at Will. "Slow enough for you, then?"

Will glared at him again. She was not that slow. Jack just had.....ok, yeah, she was slow. But that didn't mean she was having fun. "Yep, but you didn't have to slow down," she shrugged as she glided lazily along.

Uh huh. "Alright," Jack laughed, and sped up once more. After all, it was probably a little patronizing of him to slow down. She wasn't that much younger than him. ... she was 15, right? Hmm. Well, it sounded young, even if it wasn't. "That speed okay for you?" he called back over his shoulder.

Couldn't he just stick to a speed?! "I'm fine and dandy at any speed," she laughed. But she sped up and caught up with him this time. They dove under a branch and started back through the forest. "This is so.......freeing!" she spread her arms out and twirled and soared faster. She felt happy and she was radiant. She felt like a bird but this was better than flying.

Jack wondered if freeing was a word, or not. He was bad at English anyway. He could never tell for sure. But... he liked the word. He'd use it in an essay sometime, if he remembered, and find out once and for all. "Where to, Will?" he called, watching her hair flare out in the wind like flames.

Will looked over at hims from the corner of her eye and smiled slyly. She fell back even further so that he was ahead of her again and then took a sharp turn to the left...looking after the forest had its advantages after all, like knowing the quickest way back to the Glass Lake. She zoomed on, weaving in out and and twisting and turning through the trees and she had a strange sense that she might win this and so she put on her fire power full blast and was going extremely fast. She saw the lake in front of her...100ft in front of her. She was going to do it! The out of her peripheral vision she saw Jack whizzing past her. Noooooooo!!! She sped faster and she was head to head with Jack...only he was a couple of inches ahead of her. "You're soooo not gonna win this, JACK TROVE!" she called over the flames.

Perhaps it was Madeleine's fault- d**n that Head of his- but Jack prided himself on his sense of honour in all things. In battle. In Training. In rugby. In games. And there was nothing Jack deplored more than a cheater. Or so he thought. 'Cause now, faced with the cheater in an opponent Jack knew he outmatched by far, Jack still found himself doing the exact same thing as her. Cheating. For everyone cheated, surely... surely that made everything fair? So as Will soared downwards, Jack soared upwards; swerving through the air at an angle that spun him around so that he came out in front of her. He grinned back at her as she called to him: "You're soooo not gonna win this, JACK TROVE!" "Will!" he laughed, kicking forward with another spurt of flames. "I already have!" And he disappeared behind a cloud of ash and smoke.

Will didn't have time to swerve out of the way. She went right through the ash and smoke cloud. The next thing she knew she was on the forest floor on her front. She looked up, while coughing, "Ouch," Sh quickly jumped up and started again through the smoke and ash and just before coming out of it all she jumped in the air and fired herself out and....collided into Jack. "Why, hello," she grinned as pulled back, "Sorry," Serves him right for making me crash was what she was really thinking. She looked down and saw she was covered in soil and leaves.

As Will knocked into him, the two literally fell through the air and over the finish line. Jack hit the ground with a dull thud, squinting upwards through the smoke as Will hovered above him. He could just about make out the glint of her teeth in a grin. "Why, hello. Sorry." Jack rolled his eyes at her. "Sorry? You shot me out of the air! You're like a bloody missile, or something!" Then he grinned too. There was something about her smile. It was catching. "Draw?"

Jack grinned, "Draw?" Will looked at him in disbelief. That was hardly fair, Jack had been winning, actually he had won. She continued to gaze at him. Could she be willing to make it a draw? She had cheated but then again he had followed her. He had made her crash into the ground and now she had a sore arm and chin because of it but could she hold that against him? He was the reason she felt free at the minute. Had it been anyone else she knew had the fire of power they probably would've said no...well maybe Tamika might have. Her grin faded adn she looked confused. She had know idea whether to accept this or not. She slowly descended and touched the ground but not knowing she had. She looked past Jack and thought about her friends at home who she won and lost against. Usually she could accept winnings, defeats and draws from them but she could she really accept a draw from Jack. She sighed and looked at Jack again. "It's up to you," she finally answered. She sure as hell didn't know and she couldn't make up her mind. She didn't exactly want to wound his ego or pride by answering yes. She knew that he won all the time and didn't know if accepting a draw would be a defeat to him in some way or another, so he decided.
