"Oh, awesome," Madeleine said, wishing that she knew a little more about Irish Dancing. However, Isolde's saying that instrument playing didn't come easily to her didn't really make much sense to Madeleine. Madeleine knew that many people weren't naturally talented at an instrument, but she was a firm believer that there was an instrument for everybody - and if not, well, practice makes perfect. Determination can get you where talent will, it just takes a little longer.

"I'm naturally good at it and I have tried playing the harp, violin, cello, clarinet, flute and piccolo but none of them agreed with me," she shrugged. "What grade are you on the guitar?"

Madeleine was taken aback at that - it sounded a little like blowing one's own trumpet to her... "You don't take grades with guitar; and besides, I'm self-taught," she said. "I've never had lessons, so could never take an exam anyway."

"That's pretty wicked," Isolde smiled, "I didn't know that, sorry. Ah well, what I lack in in brains, I make up for it in dancing," What? It was her logic!

Madeleine smiled, albeit a little tightly. "Yeah, well, I guess that works..."

"If you wanted I could teach you some moves?" she asked in slight hope. She was willing to teach anyone who wanted to try it, providing they were willing to put the time and effort into it.

Madeleine shook her head. Dancing .... her... no. Just... not a good idea. "No, thanks," she said apologetically. "I'm not really a dancer..."

"Oh well, that's too bad," she laughed with no amusement. "When I very first started, I hated it but I was forced to go and then as I moved up through the....grades I started to like it better," she admitted. "It's hard work,"

Madeleine nodded, unsmilingly, almost gravely. "Well, you'll be put to work that's a heck of a lot harder, I'm afraid," she said. "But it's good you have the practice..." However, if Isolde thought that dancing was tough going, she had a lot to learn. Madeleine's classes and sessions were difficult, and tough. There was no easy going. They all had to work their asses off to be able to win this war... And it was very different from dancing.

"Fine by me, I'm up for a bit of stress," Isolde rephrased that in her head. A lot of stress is more like, she raise an eyebrow as she thought this. Well, if I can run a shop I should be able to cope with... she gulped silently, ...with, a lot of hard, fierce, strenuous battling for a war....dear god help me!

Madeleine smiled. "That's good; you'll need to have your wits and your sense of humour about you as well." No kidding. In battle training, there was nothing worse than a sore loser, or someone who didn't have enough of a sense of humour to laugh at themselves. The majority of her Warriors were hilarious, and had brilliant senses of humour, something she really appreciated. It was good that they were all so relaxed with each other - they even laughed at her when she slipped up, something that would have been unthinkable with some Heads before her. And Madeleine loved it that she got on so well with her team - after all, it wasn't going to work if they didn't work as a team.

Sense of humour? I hope I have that! "Yeah, I'm sure I'll manage," she smiled. And she started to twiddle her thumbs. Stupid nervousness!

"Well, you wouldn't have been put in the Warriors if you couldn't handle it." Simple logic, but it was true.

"Yeah, you're right. So how many are in the warriors?" she paused," Approximately?" Well it was good to know how many were in the group before she started training or anything. First thing her dad taught her was to get as much information on anything you were likely to be put inot or join or whatever. She supposed numbers were a good place to start.... Right?

How many? Madeleine grinned. "Rather a lot." Really, probably only herself and the teachers knew how many Warriors there were. Isolde really didn't need to know at all; it wasn't really important. Besides, better that she be surprised by the number when she came into the training room...
