"It's good," Lee repeated, watching her closely as she shivered. "You cold?" The fire was dying out now; its embers crackling into scarlet dust. Lee watched it, getting up and stretching. "I can try and relight it if you like," he offered her.

"Hmm," Misa said non-commitedly, forcing herself back into the moment, into the here and now. She watched as he got up and stretched, suddenly feeling inexplicably as though she would like nothing more than to just sit there for the rest of eternity if it meant not having to think or feel anything more. Actually, it wasn't inexplicable - she knew the reason for it. If only she understood that reason.

"Or would you rather go to bed...?" he frowned at her. She looked a bit tired. More than tired. Exhausted.

Misa knew what she ought to say, but she didn't want to say it. Trouble was, as she opened her mouth to say No she was fine, she yawned instead. Darn.
"Maybe that would be best," She said instead, even though her heart was telling her, No, that is far from what would be best.

"Okay," Lee smiled, turning to look at her. He stood, a little awkwardly now, sort of waiting for her to move. Any second now... "Er, I'll go too," he said, after a couple of minutes.

Misa sat for a moment, bracing herself for the time when she would have to leave, have to walk up to the cold, dark, empty dormitory and put herself into the bed she had lain awake in for weeks now. She couldn't do it, but she didn't have a choice. "Er, I'll go too," She heard him say, and Misa drew herself from the trance she was in to see Lee standing there awkwardly. God, she was such an idiot - he wanted her to go! He was bored of her and she was making him awkward now! Misa felt a hot blush grace her cheeks and she jumped to her feet, the world span at the sudden movement leaving her light headed. "Sorry, I'll just..." She trailed off, holding onto the arm of the chair for a second until the world stopped its ridiculous spinning.

Lee moved forward quickly, worried as she seemed to waver slightly. "Are you alright?" he asked her. She looked a little worse for the wear.

"I'll be fine, just...just fine." Misa said softly as the world tilted back to its usual vertices. "I'm just not feeling the best at the moment," Misa waved away his worry, she didn't need him to feel sorry for her - he didn't even want to talk to her, why should he feel obligated to be concerned?

Lee frowned. "Maybe you should sit down again..."

It was kind of him to still have this amount of patience for her even after having humoured her for the evening, it proved he was a better person than she could ever be. The least she could do was get out of his way, especially before one of her 'episodes' or something happened. "No, really I'll just get on out of your hair," Misa said gently, walking carefully across the room, subtly holding on to whatever was closest - well, she hoped it was subtle. As she reached the corridor she paused, holding the door frame she stopped and said, "Thanks, though." It sounded so feeble and ridiculous she felt like hitting herself.
