Madeleine arched an eyebrow.
She felt that something had been coming at the end of that sentence that she wouldn't like.
But it was different to what Will had said, because Madeleine really did value Ailith's opinion. Ailith spoke to advise, not to insult.
And Ailith knew what she was talking about.
"What was the rest of it?" she asked interestedly.

Ooooh you in trouble now! Ailith's voice crooned in her head. She looked at Madeleine, with body language as obvious as folded arms and a tapping foot. To hell I'm only messing she can take it.
"I was going to say I don't see the attraction of Warriors when Spies are so much more..." Ailith looked to the ceiling in mock amazment, "...skilled and for all the reasons I mentioned before better."

Dakota was in his head. That was funny. He hadn't thought about her and the Sales for a long time now. It was hardly the ideal P.7. memory to put down- was it?

Magic for non-magic folk. Big bucks, they told him. But after Dakota, he guessed it wasn't worth it.

Well, this was his cue to kiss goodbye homework and say, "Heeeellllloooo, have a right bit of banter with Maddox time!" Wasn't banter a great word? Loved the Irish. Loved Lee. Truly, he did.
"She's right y'all know," he said jovially, hop-skipping across the room to join them both.

Although Jude sure as hell wasn't finished his homework, "Jude? What's the score with The English Prof?"

"I gave up," he admitted. "She's awful, and she's not worth the fuss. Besides, my childhood memories ain't up to much. But y'all sounded like an interesting conversation was going on..." he trailed off, and grinned at Maddox. "Spies are better."

Ailith was on a rant now. She leant forward and lauched into her speech, "Just because not every Spy here has been on a mission, doesn't mean that we don't do anything. We are your back-up. We give you vital information that you would be lost without, we fight with you, many of us are good at the medical stuff so we can help Carers and we're all pretty d**n smart so we at can least grasp the basics of what an Achademic tells us. So I reverse the question back to you." She leaned back with her head held high, "Apart from kicking your enemies ass, what do you guys do?"
If she had been the type she would have done the left to right clicky fingers American move. But she wasn't. So she didn't

Impressed by Ailith's speech, Madeleine raised an eyebrow. She'd been kidding, but if that was the way the conversation was going...
"Jeez, Kira'd be proud of you, wouldn't she? First of all, I know and appreciate that you guys do find the information we need. But the rest of it? Yes, you do fight with us - and completely ignore what I tell you to do and just end up getting into trouble," she said, smiling sweetly at Jude. "And the medicine thing? I've trained all my Warriors in first aid, it comes in useful. We also have the intellengence needed to get the gist of what the Academics are on about... usually. And when you say, "kicking your enemies ass", really, you should be saying protecting the school, putting our lives on the line for our cause and for all of your lives, fighting for what's right, and all of us prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice, right?"
She paused, before grinning at Ailith. "And any one of us could kick your asses in a fight."
