Kira tossed the blanket at her bed. "Must we?"

"I think we do.." Macy replied. "You know I don't like clutter." She lifted up the remaining things, and set them on her bed. "I'll rinse out the flask and bring it back down tomorrow at breakfast." She said, going into the bathroom and running some water into it, and the pouring it back out. She set it down on the edge of the bath, and then looked round the bathroom. It was messy with cut hair, lying in a newspaper on the floor. She picked it up it and threw it into the bin. She then took some toilet paper and wiped down the sink and mirror. "There we go." She said, coming back out with the flask in her hand. She set it on her desk, so she wouldn't forget it in the morning. She sat down on her bed again, and swung herself over to Kira. "So.." she said, looking around the room. "It's Christmas soon!" She said, smiling.

"Too soon," Kira smiled, but felt no familiar rush of warmth at the reminder Christmas was near. The sad thing about growing up at Christmas was losing faith- a jolly man in red hadn't read your list, and hadn't brought you all your wildest hopes and dreams... there was no magic in Christmas; just a pair of poor parents who'd been darn near robbed. When the magic had died, and so had the mystery, it seemed to sap all the life out of Christmas. Sure, it was nice to get presents. Sure, it was a season of good will, etc. But it got old fast. These days, Kira was a heartbeat away from Scrooge. "Are you excited?"

Macy shrugged, at Kira's question. "I don't know, I guess I am. I'm not looking too forward going home, I haven't seen my mum after when she visited my when I came back, and I don't even think she knows that people were killed during the last battle...she'll freak when she finds out, so I'm not going to tell her. I am not letting her take me from this school, she already tries to run my life, and she is not going to let her run this part." She said, making a speech. "But, there's the formal coming up, which is something to look forward to..." She said, thinking. "Then again, it'll be weird, as the last one we had, I got kidnapped. That won't be so fun, then." She said, staring into space. "I think I'll go get my pj's on." She stood up, went over to her chest of drawers and brought out a pair of pajama bottoms and a large t-shirt, and went into the bathroom to get changed. She came back out a few minutes later, and set her clothes into another drawer. "Oh, my hair is so nice!" She said again, looking at it in her mirror. She sat down on her bed, and crossed her legs again. "You know, we should decorate this room for Christmas.." She said, looking round it, biting her lip.

Kira glanced around, and snorted. "Why? I'm not looking forward to Christmas either. This can be the one place in the whole school that Christmas doesn't touch." She'd forgotten about the formal, and was immediately unhappy. Still, the sight of Macy admiring her hair made her feel better. Kira cocked her head, her arms folded. "What will you do with your new hair for the formal?"

Macy shrugged, and looked over at her bed, and the shelf above it. It always looked decorated for Christmas, with frost that she would put on it when she was bored. "I don't know, maybe I'll pin it up, or something." She said, holding up her hair, and looking in the mirror again. "Oh, but it won't show off your wonderful work! Maybe I can let it down, and curly, or something. I need a dress too, I do not want to wear the dress that I wore last time, it still has stains it in, and I don't think I'd be able to wear it without the memories coming back..." she said, looking away, with her head leaning on her knees. "I'll go down to the Heel-Toe in the village, and see what they have." She said, looking over at Kira. "What do you think you'll do with your hair?" She asked, smiling at Kira's lovely long, blond hair.

"I don't really know," Kira replied, bemused by the question. She turned to examine her reflection in the mirror; stroking a lock thoughtfully. What could she do with her hair...? Well, that seemed obvious. Pin in up in a bun. She never wore her hair up. It always hung loose; lying limp and dead. She growled under her breath. Sometimes, she really did hate being so plain. "Heel-Toes are good," Kira smiled, then glanced at Macy. "Want to go together?"

"Oh, that'd be fun." Macy laughed. "I hardly have any money though, but I think my mum sent me up some up recently, though." She said, getting up and opening up her desk drawers. She finally found an envolope and looked into it. "Yeah, this should be enough." She said, closing it and putting it back into the drawer. "I'm actually free tomorrow after lunch, actually. It's meant to be a study period, but I've done enough studying recently, and I'm sure Prof. Egwin will understand, she's cool." She said, jumping back unto her bed. The rain was still hitting the window very heavy now, and she wondered if it'd be like that the rest of the night. "So, when are you free?"

"Whenever, I suppose," grinned Kira. "This weekend?"

"Yeah, that sounds good! We can go down on Saturday, I think, I've got to go riding on Sunday. If we go early in the morning, then we can see the new stock before the ones in the years below us take over the shop." She said, thinking about the girls who always crowd out the shop, trying on the dresses, annoying the shopkeepers, and talking about all the guys who they were trying to ask out. "So, Saturday's good then?" She asked, bringing down Gypsy, and stroking her. "I think we better get to bed.." She said, going into the bathroom and brushing her teeth. She came back out a few minutes later and sat down on the bed. She then climbed under the covers and Gypsy lay across her stomach, purring. "Oh, it's been so fun tonight!" She giggled, touching her hair again. "Well, goodnight!" She shouted, snuggling under the covers. She began to giggle again, and then finally stoppped. She picked up her book and began to read it again, finally calming down from the high of the night.
