"Boring," Kira said simply. "I don't know how you can stick it. I don't have much of a mind for things like maths..."

Macy laughed, being in the Academics, you had to like everything. Although, this wasn't always true in Macy's case. But, not often. "I like maths." She said, smiling and looking out the window. "I'm not too fond of Transformation and Shapeshifting, though, like it's just really easy things, and Jessica Harte is in my class too, so that isn't the best cup of tea." She fiddled with her hair, twisting it. It was a nervous habbit she had.

Jessica Harte? Kira grinned to herself. The name Jessica just screamed Jessen. She wondered whether he was with Will or not... "Is she not going out with Levi Ryder?" Kira couldn't help but pull a face at his name.

Macy rolled her eyes, "Yes, I think she is. She's such an attention-seeking I-don't-know-what." She said, shaking her head. "And she wants to be the head of the Academics so much, it's annoying." she continued. She flopped back onto her bed, and stared at the celing. "I think I need a cup of tea." She said, quietly. She got back up, and looked back over at Kira. "Do you want one? I'll go down and get a flask, and we can have a picnic." She laughed.

"Ooh, yes please," Kira beamed, and dived for her trunk at the bottom of her bed, throwing it open and beginning to rifle through it. She soon emerged with a rather ugly, though colourful sheet. She hopped off the bed and spread it across the floor. "Perfect," she said happily, looking at Macy. "For the picnic, I mean. Oh... or..." The smiled faded. "Sorry. That must've seemed weird."

Macy laughed at Kira, as she brought out a large blanket. "No, it's perfect!" She saidm standing up and stretching. "I'll go down and get some tea. Gpysy, do you want to come?" She shouted over, but her guardian continued to sleep. Macy shrugged and said that she's be back in a minute. She left the room, and walked though the common room and down the stairs towards the kitchens. There was a window to it, that students could ask for drinks or snacks, if they wanted. She went over an tapped on it, and woman came over. "Hello, can I maybe have a flask of tea, please?" she asked, smiling. She woman looked at her strangely, walked away, and returned after a while with a flask. Macy took it and said thank you. She ran back up to the dorm, still barefoot, and came in. "Here we go. I'll get the mugs, if yopu go over to my dresser, and look in the second drawer, there should be a packet of cookies." She said, heading over to the windowsill where their mugs stood.

Kira (already in her pyjamas) had settled herself cross-legged on the rug, and was cooing at Frederick, who eyed her suspiciously from behind a wing. She giggled at him. "Here we go," Macy smiled, coming in. "I'll get the mugs, if you go over to my dresser, and look in the second drawer, there should be a packet of cookies." "Okay!" Kira abandoned her bored little bat and crawled across to the drawer, picking her way through it until she tracked down the cookies. She rolled them across the floor, where they hit the rug with a dull flump. She then leant under her bed, and pulled her own packet of goodies towards her. Once she was back at the rug, she caught sight of Gypsy, sleeping. "A protector would be like a daemon, yeah?" she asked curiously.

"Yeah, I don't know why she protects me, but she does it anyway. She started following me one day, so I just went with it. But I love her." She smiled up at Gypsy. She opened up the flask, letting the steam rise up from the hot drink. She lifted up her mug, that she painted a few years ago, and poured out the drink. She lifted up Kira's mug, and poured it out again. She stopped, and looked around herself for a second. "Oh, darn, I forgot to get milk, sorry." She sighed, and set down her mug. She picked up her packet of cookies, that were missing a few. She liked to have some in her desk, so she could have a snack while studying. There was also the day that she brought out a packet of them out into the common room, and her and Steve ate the entire packet, while she was going over his homework. "Would you like one?" She offered, holding up the packet, with the one that she picked out, resting on the blanket by her tea.

"Yes, please," Kira beamed, taking one accordingly. Her eyes drifted back to Gypsy. She was such a pretty cat. Kira sometimes wished she had more of a bond with Frederick... but the truth was, she didn't. He was just... a bat. Just a bat who slept under her bed. He'd been there when she'd arrived. And he'd be there when she left. That made her a little sad. "Crisps?" Kira offered her, holding up the bag.

"Mmm, please." She said, taking out a few crisps. She sipped some more of her tea, as felt the warm liquid slip down her throat. "Oh, look what Steve gave me the other day.." She said, crawling over to her desk, opening up the top drawer, and taking out a piece of paper. She came back over and handed it to Kira. "It's a picture of the two of us." She said, smiling. It was a picture of her, smiling, and wearing a hat that covered the top part of her eyes, and Steve, making a face, his hair bright green. He had painted it from a picture that he had taken of the two of them on his camara, few months ago. "Isn't it really good? He's an amazing artist. Oh, sorry if I keep on talking about him." She said, apolgising for the fact, that now, any time she was talking to someone, she was hoping that someone would bring him up. Again, it was only because he was an interesting person.

Kira stared enviously as the effortless, smooth strokes of paint that swam across the page. It wasn't just good. It was stunning. Kira could honestly say that she'd never seen Macy look so beautiful. Something about that picture... when she glanced back up at her friend, she saw her in a new light. And she couldn't believe she'd never seen it there before. What 'it' was... she didn't know. But Macy had it. And there was something else. Kira was jealous of 'it'. "It's wonderful," Kira said weakly, after a short pause. "He's... gosh. He's really, really, really amazing and more."

Macy laughed, still staring at the picture. He seemed to love drawing pictures to give to her, and her top drawer in her desk was slowly filling up with his pictures. "He really is amazing. You can't describe him, he's..he's like playing Russian Roulette, you never know when he'll go off..which isn't always the best thing, but still. He's amazing. Oh, um, would you like anything else to eat?" She asked, changing the subject.

Kira cleared her dry throat, and took a sip of her tea. The scalding liquid skidded across her tongue and down her throat. She coughed slightly; the treacherous tears she always fought so hard against pricking at the corners of her eye, and she dived for some cooling crisps. "What- else is there to- eat?!" she finally gasped. She must look a right spattard...

"Hot?" Macy asked, as she watched Kira swallow the tea with some difficulty. "And I don't know what else we could eat, I was only being polite." She laughed. "But, I suppose someone in another dorm may have something." Infact, Macy wasn't that hungry, and it isn't too good to eat a lot before going to bed. "I'm not that hungry, though." She said, moving her legs, so they wouldn't go dead from sitting with them crossed. She started to fiddle with her hair again. "Do you think I should get it cut?" She asked. "I don't mean too short, just slightly. I think it's getting too long." She said. It was now just above her waist, and was getting annoying. She wanted to give it some shape, and look nice for Christmas and all.

Kira tilted her head curiously, her own long locks tickling her neck. Her hand pulled a lock forward automatically, silky smooth as always. It splayed through her fingers as she focused on Macy's own hair. "I like long hair," Kira mused. "But... I think it'd suit you. How short were you actually thinking?"
