((from POV of Steve Ritzski))
That woman had now been talking non-stop for twenty minutes. He would have counted the seconds, but Steve knew that doing that would ask for more concentration than he had at the current time. But...what subject was this, again? He thought for a second, trying to remember, it was a miracle he even turned up for class, he had been thinking that he had free time at this moment for the past three months, until Macy found out. "You haven't been turning up for Chemistry in the last three months?" She hissed at him two weeks ago, when she finally found out. She told him that she would sort it out, and tell the teacher that he had scheduled a check-up at the hospital at this time, and then she would ask Will Wright, very nicely, if she would back Macy up on this. Steve really had no idea why she would go through the trouble, so he could sit at the back of a class room, doodling on his book for an hour, a few times a week, but she had, and here he was. He could sense that his hair was a dull gray color, which meant that he was bored out of his mind. It usually meant that he was absent minded, and he knew that it would be going purple, if the lesson continued on like this. (Purple being the color it went, when he was asleep.) He occasionally picked up words from the lesson, 'carbon... alkali...seventy-four...', but he wasn't even bothering to listen. It was only when the words "Now, get into pairs...", he realised that he was in trouble. He always hated getting into pairs, or working in teams, most people there either hated him or thought he was a total freak. It seemed the reputation of being 'Bonkers from Yonkers', the freak with multicolored hair, and was always seen with the Head of the Academics, had really gone before him. Well, this was it. Who would be the lucky person to pair up with The Freak today?

Chemistry. Something Danni was usually good at. But apparently, at Orchid Hill, they taught it in a way that made in completely incomprehensable. Perfect. And it really didn't help that the teacher's voice was a drone going through her head. Looking about the classroom it was clear that Danni was not the only person with this mindframe. Some were doodling, some staring into space and some actually sleeping. It was only the absence of snoring that kept them from the attention of the teacher. The teacher said something and suddenly everyone jumped to life and Danni started packing her things, thinking that by some miracle they'd actually been let out early. "Danielle what are you doing? Do you think the bell went? I said get into pairs." Danni went slightly red with embarrassment. And looking about for a possible partner went even more red. The only person left by the looks of it was that Steve dude... the one people called Bonkers or something. But it looked like she had no other choice really. The teacher was staring at her, waiting for her to move. Danni hesitantly put her bag back on the floor and walked towards Steve. "Hey, um could I be your partner please?" Danni stood nervously in front of Steve's desk, hoping that she wouldn't be further humiliated if he said no. But afterall why would he say no? She was the only one left.

Steve straightened up, and looked at the girl up and down. He really should have known her name, but it was lucky that he rememeberd to brush his hair that day (for once), so that left him staring at her, probably making her feel awkward. "Sure, that's fine, sit down, what's your name again? I'm Steve, if you didn't know. Do you even know what we're meant to do?" He said in a rush of words. He ruffled his hair using his hand, while looking up at the board. It appeared that they weren't doing an experiment, but that could change at any moment. He glanced down at the work sheets that had been given out; they had to work in pairs and sort out information. Steve immediatly took his pencil and started to sketch over the page, ignoring whatever had been on it. "So, do you like Chemistry? Because because of you don't, I could fake a seizure and you'd have to take me to the hospital wing. Like, I'm just saying." He said, looking up at her, his hair had gone back to his normal green. He tried to keep his face serious, before he burst out laughing. "I'm just kidding! But serisouly, you say the word, and we're outta here." He didn't know any more if he was being serious or not, but he did feel liek he could leave at any time. He often did that, usually create a diversion of the form of an explosion or something like that, and slip out. He told himself to shut up, he was probably scaring the poor girl.

Danni shifted awkwardly as Steve stared at her. It was quite disconcerting really. "Sure, that's fine, sit down, what's your name again? I'm Steve, if you didn't know. Do you even know what we're meant to do?" Danni was silent but she plopped herself down beside him. She had hadn't been prepared for the onslaught of words and she wasn't entirely sure of how to respond. He seemed very energetic to say the least. Danni was about to answer when she noticed that he was drawing on the sheets, which judging by the people around them they were supposed to be doing something on. She closed her mouth uncertaintly. "So, do you like Chemistry? Because because of you don't, I could fake a seizure and you'd have to take me to the hospital wing. Like, I'm just saying." Danni opened her mouth again but nothing came out, again. "I'm just kidding! But serisouly, you say the word, and we're outta here." Danni was completely confounded by him. He was just so... odd? Not really the woord she was looking for. But she was having trouble getting her thoughts together, Steve was making her more than a bit nervous with his incessant chatter and his hair was also quite distracting. "Uh, I'm Danni and I'm not sure exactly what we're supposed to be doing but I'm pretty sure that drawing on the sheets isn't the best idea really," She hesitated because she didn't want to appear like a goody-two-shoes but what else was she supposed to say. "Um... I used to like chemistry... I think but since coming here it's been a little... uh, boring. I guess a fake-seizure would liven things up." Danni laughed rather nervously as she really wasn't sure whether or not to take him seriously and also whether or not he would take her seriously. "You're not really going to fake a seizure are you? 'Cus I know I'd know it's fake but I'd still panic and possibly cry. Well maybe not cry but definately panic..." She trailed off in attempt to save herself from going even further into the pit she was digging.

Steve smirked at Danni, and how she really didn't know how to respond to him. Most people didn't know how to act around him, whether they should laugh nervously, or take him seriously. "Well, if you're going to freak out and cry, then I won't do it..." He said, continuing to sketch on the page. He had heard her tell him not to do it, but he was almost finished anyway. "I know that drawing on the sheets won't help us, but here you go." He said, handing the work sheet to Danni. On it, he had done a quick sketch of her, looking to the side. He signed it, and folded it in half for her. "There, you can sell that when I'm a famous artist. Or dead. That usually makes things go up in worth. Now, down to work..." He looked down at his desk, and tried to concentrate. "Hey, I should get a new sheet!" He decided, looking up at the teacher, who was sitting at her desk. "What's her name?" He asked quietly, before shouting across the classroom. "Hey, Professor...um, can I have a sheet? I didn't recieve one earlier..." He asked, trying to sound nice, but it probably came off as rude. The teacher looked up and sighed, before taking a sheet and handing it to him. "What happened to that one that I gave you earlier...the one that is folded in half there with Danni's picture on it?" Oh, great, she had x-ray vision. "I have no idea how that ended up there." He said, innocently. The teacher sighed, not wanting to fight with him, it seemed that most of the teachers felt like this about him; they had mostly given up. She walked away, and sat back down at her desk, trying not to have eye contact with the students. Looking around, it seemed that most of the students weren't working. There were a few Academics who had finished, a couple of Carers working on it, and the occasional Warrior that was stratching their name into their desk. "Where're you from, then? I'm from New York, but the accent usually gives me away..." He asked, tapping his finger on the desk, nervously.
