Tamika rapped her knuckles against the wood of her best friend Joshua's front door once more and gave an impatient sigh. It had been a couple of weeks since she had heard from her self appointed big brother, and she was both worried about lack of contact and missing the amusement of hanging out with him. She pulled her beloved Blackberry Curve out of the front pocket of her red denim mini and called speed dial one, aka, Josh's phone. " 'Lo?" A sleepy female voice asked. "Anike? Where's Josh?" "Oh Mickey! Bonjour mon aime! Une minuet!" Despite the generally polite demeanour Tamika kept when saying 'thanks doll' to her Swiss friend, Tamika was seething at her end of the line. "G'Morning, sweet cheeks," a pleasant voice eventually said. "Joshua, what the f*ck? Where are you?" She asked, trying to keep her voice as quiet as possible so as to not offend the old woman ascending the stairwell. "What's wrong Pebbles? I'm in Basel..." Tamika all but growled into the phone when he called her Pebbles. When they were younger an elderly neighbor they helped nicknamed the pair Pebbles and Bam Bam. It was Josh's way of getting Tamika not to be angry with him when anymore when he sensed something was wrong. "I'm outside your place, I just wanted to see my best friend." "I'll be back in a couple of days, Pebbs..." "Yeah, but for how long, Josh? You're always on the mainland seeing someone... I need you Josh, and you're never here anymore." "But babe -" "Don't Joshua! Y'know, I have enough on me at the minute with frickin' visions and sh*t without you slagging it up in Switzerland." "She's my girlfriend, Tamika! What am I supposed to do?" "Are friends not meant to be more important? I mean, I broke up with Brad because of you, I spent so many nights fighting with Pavel because of you? Bro's before hoe's man..." Those were the last words of the conversation before Tamika pressed the end button on her phone. She picked up her Sonic The Hedgehog backpack from its resting place at the wall and turned tail, jogging down the stairs. The thick soles of her Vans traingers slammed against each step, as if her footsteps were portraying her current emotions. As she walked out of the main door to Joshua's building, she sighed and lit a cigarette. There was nothing else she could do with her day now. As per usual, no one seemed to be about to hang out, and she had all necessary work done for the day. She made her way into the town and stood still in the square for a few minutes, glancing at all the shops around her for inspiration of what to do. Slowly, she headed in the direction of the bookshop, finishing her cigarette as she went. A small bell rang as she entered the shop and then she walked over to the bookshelves. She hadn't bought any new books in a while, and felt the need for a new purchase. She ran her finger along the lines of books, reading the spine of each individual books. Eventually, her attention was caught by 'Agatha Christie's Death On The Nile'. Tamika smiled and lifted the book down. She took it over to the counter and paid for the book as she ordered a drink. "A wet cappucino please, and these," she asked with a smile, sliding her book and a Twix over the counter. The guy on counter, who was familiar to her as a fellow carer, nodded his head and went to make her drink. She stood staring into space for a few minutes before he came back. She gave him over the correct change for her purchases and then lifted them, going over to a sofa by the window and sitting down. Tamika set her drink and Twix on the table and nestled back, opening her book to page on. She was settling in for a long session of coffee and reading this afternoon.

Another lame day, on another lame dander into the lame town on Orchid. Jet was finding most things lame nowadays. He even found himself lame.... The only thing he didn't find lame was the one thing he couldn't find. Tamika. He had gone to her dorm room and knocked on the door only to have one of her roommates say she had taken of about an hour ago and when he asked where, she replied with a, "How the hell should I know?!" and had the door slammed in his face. Ever since then he'd noted never to go knocking on her door. He didn't want a repeat of a ßitchy, hormonal teenage girl swearing at him for asking a simple question. God, if all the girls could get rid of their hormonal periods it would be a god send! he thought as he walked the path through what used to be the forest. Cardsdale wasn't far but he didn't really want to go there but he had no choice. He didn't want to spend another minute inside the grounds and he had no inspiration for music. As he walked the gravelly path towards town he had a sudden urge for a coffee and muffin. Fifteen minutes later and he had his coffee in his hand and his toffee muffin in the other and looked around the room for a free spot. The only place free was the sofa and one end of it was being occupied by a girl reading a book. He was sure if he asked nicely enough he could sit beside her and maybe chat, get to know her. As he came up to it he realise it was hig girlfriend. "So this is where you are. I went looking for you at your dorm only to be answered rudely by some hormonal cow. Seriously if girls in your dorm are like that, I refuse to go knocking again. Anyway love," he bet over her book and gave her a quick kiss on her forehead, "How are you, today?"

Tamika yawned and turned the page in her book, not bothering to glance up at whoever was over in the area of the sofa's. Afterall, just because she was sitting trying to get some peace didn't mean the sofa she sat on was off limits. Well, not to anyone with manners anyway. She was pleasantly surprised though when said person began to talk and bent down to kiss her forehead. She lowered her book and smiled up at her boyfriend, stretching to give him a kiss on the cheek before he stood up straight again. "Oh they're not all bad. There's quite a chance you caught them in some sort of beauty ritual. They're rather scary when they get the make-up bags out..." Tamika told him, pretending to be terrified. She lifted up a napkin from the coffee table and put it in her book as a makeshift bookmark. "You should've called me, hon, I was at Joshua's front door." Tamika frowned whenever Jet asked her how she was the current day. She could be completely honest and tell him how hurt and angry she was with her 'best friend', or she could lie for the sake of peace and tell him that she was fine and dandy. Deciding to do neither, Tamika went with a simple, "Oh I've had better days, what about yourself love?" Now her attention wasn't on her book, she lifted up her cappucino cup and took a sip of the hot liquid, getting a slight shiver as the heat warmed her up a little.

"Hmm, a whole lot better since I found you." he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her over to him so she was leaning against him, "You're cold." they sat there for a few minutes comfotably..or comfortably for Jet in silence. "Cappucino eh? Mind if I try it?" he leaned out and took a tiny sip from it a pulled back. He scrunched his face up, "I'll stick to the black coffee I think. So get a new book then? You know I've got a book you'd enjoy, at least I think you would," He took a swig from his coffee and started to pick bits of muffin off and eating it. Nothing was as good a Starbucks but unfortunately they didn't have a Starbuck here. Ryan would hate it here if he didn't know they didn't have Starbucks....speaking of which I wonder how he is. He pulled out his phone a scrolled down the phonebook until he reached Ryan who was under the name of The Prick in his phonebook and texted him. "So...is it any good so far or did I disturb you before you had actually goteen anywhere in it?"

Tamika raised an eyebrow at Jet whenever he rambled off a bunch of questions. She was going to make a comment about how maybe he was drinking too much coffee, but feared it would lead him off on another tirade. She was amused by his reaction to her cappucino. For some reason most of her friends weren't fond of wet cappucino's She leant back into the corner of the sofa whenever Jet started to drink his coffee and pulled her legs up underneath her. Her grey, faux fur boots gave a nice warmness to her legs, since the thick black tights weren't doing their job today. "The book's pretty awesome. Jacqueline just started talking to Poirot in Egypt, then took a b*tch fit whenever she saw Simon and Linnet together. I gotta say, I'd be annoyed too if my best friend stole my fiancee..." She lifted up her Twix and opened the packet, taking one half and putting it in her coffee like a drink stirrer and holding the packet out to Jet to offer him the other half.

"The book's pretty awesome. Jacqueline just started talking to Poirot in Egypt, then took a ßitch fit whenever she saw Simon and Linnet together. I gotta say, I'd be annoyed too if my best friend stole my fiancee..." He smiled and shook his head when she offered him the other half of her twix and held up his muffin, "Thanks for the offer and I'd have to say I don't think Will would steal your fiancée," He doubted that any guys Tamika picked, especially ones like Jet would be Will's idea of a boyfriend. "The book sounds awesome...I might have to steal it of you while you sleep one night," he smiled darkly and jumped on top of Tamika and kissed her head before settling on his side. "So got anything in mind for today?"

Tamika set the Twix down on the table and lifted up her mug, taking a long drink of her cappucino. She smirked as Jet said about Will stealing her fiance. If the situation did ever occur - although it was highly unlikely - someone was in for a ßitch slap. She was amused by the idea of Jet reading an Agatha Christie book, she had always considered them womens book, but each to their own. Tamika couldn't help herself from letting out a weird giggle when Jet jumped on her, even if it did bend her leg in an unnatural direction. When he settled into a sitting position again, Tamika was about to pull her legs up to her chest, but then she remembered that she wasn't wearing any jeans to cover her modesty. She stretched her legs out in front of her on top of the coffee table and stared at the toes of her boots. She glanced up at Jet when he asked her a question and shrugged. "I dunno, I planned to sulk for a while today, then go work on my bike. You're welcome to join."

Sulking? "Tammy? Even though you're adorbaly cute when you sulk....why would you be sulking if I may ask? And of course I'll come and watch but I may just sit in a corner and try and think of some new compositions of the top of my head." he grabbed the book and read the blurb. Definately not his cup of coffee. Speaking of which. He drank all of it in one more gulp. "I'll be right back, need more coffee," he walked back over to the counter,"Hey Chris man?" "Aye?" "Can I have your strongest coffee in the large please?" "Sure." He drummed his fingers as he waited, "Chris, how's Ash?" "Oh, she's fine, expecting." "Aw, boy or girl?" "Surprise. Here's your coffee man." Jet put the money in his hand and came back over to Tamika, "There we go. So you gonna tell me why you planned to do your aadorable sulking?"

Tamika smiled when Jet said he'd probably just sit in a corner and compose in his head. It occurred to her that in a normal situation, it should be the male in the relationship working on a dirtbike and the girl doing something musical. Oh how times change. She sighed as he got up to get another coffee, and stared into the coffee cup on her lap. Instead of thinking about what reason she would give Jet as to sulking instead of getting into the whole thing. Her thoughts went a bit off track though when she started to wonder about reading tea leaves. Her grandmother Agnesa possessed that skill, so Tamika decided the next time she was home she would ask the older woman to teach. She glanced up when Jet returned to the sofa they had claimed for the afters. She shrugged and raised on side of her lips in a thinking face (bad description, if you don't get it, I'll show you on webcam). "It's nothing really..." She told him. Tamika then went into word vomit ramble mode, "Its just Josh. He never seems to be here anymore, and I just... I miss him, and I need him. It's as if he doesn't even care anymore now he's with Anike..." Tamika knew rightly that had she of been listening to another person say that to her, she would roll her eyes. It was such a childish, jealousy thing, and she would probably tell herself to grow up. As a way to move on from the subject, Tamika made a suggestion "Want me to teach you how to test the electrical system in a dirtbike engine? If you get good, I'll even show you how to do the petrol tank double checks," she grinned.

She sounded like a spoilt child. He liked it. But he didn't like what Josh was doing to her. And obviously she did not want to continue talking on the topic as she moved swiftly into talking bikes. A topic to which Jet had never been interested in and knew nothing about. But he supposed he could try for her sake. "Want me to teach you how to test the electrical system in a dirtbike engine? If you get good, I'll even show you how to do the petrol tank double checks," he smiled at her. "Sure, why not? It couldn't hurt to learn something new...wait, let me rephrase that, it might hurt but I can deal."

Tamika gave a silent thanks for the fact Jet didn't carry on with the Joshua conversation. She knew if it went on anymore than her little rant, she would end up crying or getting so frustrated she would phone Josh and call him for everything. She let out a short burst of laughter at Jets reply to her bike testing offer. It brought back the memories of her last birthday when she taught Will how to FMX. Possibly one of the most amusing sessions of her life. "Don't worry, m'love. I'll make sure you don't get hurt. Unless you want me to teach you how to ride?" She knew it was a hopeless offer, but it was amusing to see how far she could push how much he would participate. "So have you written any new compositions? You have to write a few for your A Level coursework, right?" Tamika had been in an odd state of denial about Jet having his A Levels this year, she didn't like the idea that he would be leaving for a college somewhere while she was still in the school for another year.

No. NOOOOOOO. Jethro Foster refused to said thing. He refused to be put to death. Especially by his own hand and also....no harm to her but Tamika would probably want him to try and let go of the d**n bike or something...it was surely a one way ticket to the land of infinite....something or other. "Yes, I have and yes I do. But I'll fly through it. I have enough up here," he tapped his head, "To get me by so it won't be a problem until I have it finished within 15 minutes and as it is a one and a half hour paper i'll have to find something else to amuse myself with." he frowned. A levels. Wow. "Hmm, I'll be leaving at the end of this year." his eyes widened slightly as he realized what this would mean. Tamika would be stuck here for another year while he buggered of to some music academy... Shît.

"Of course you will, doll," Tamika smiled, resting her head on Jet's shoulder and placing a kiss on his jawline. "You with your mad music skills, you'll put the other students to shame." She made a dramatic 'Oh lawdy' noise when Jet said about having ages to wait before an exam ended, "Ugh, that'd be awful. There's nothing worse than sitting in a silent room waiting for an exam to finish..." She resisted the urge to make some sort of innuendo about the amusing himself remark, after all she was a mature teenager. Yeah, mature, as if... The humor left her face though when he too noted about his leaving. "It's gonna suck when you leave... School won't be the same anymore..."

"It's gonna suck everywhere I go, without having you around babe. I'll miss you but you won't be alone, you still have Will and other friends, sides' you've got my number, ring me when you get lonely doll," he kissed the top her head and set back into silence. He felt the need to play his guitar...badly. "When were you planning to do this bike thing?" he looked out the window, "'Cause, I don't think the skies are going to give you enough time...it looks like it's about to do a tropical storm on us." he noted that the clouds looked vaguely similar to the ones back home. Ah home. His phone wen tof and he whipped it out. Ryan was in Hawaii. "Lucky son of a ßitch!"

"True, true," she mumbled, before brightening up and warning Jet, "Dude, I'm gonna spam your inbox so bad you'll wish the internet had never been invented." Spamming was possibly the single most fun activity on the internet, well, except for eBay. She glanced out the window a few seconds after Jet and gave a laugh. "You think a little rain and wind is going to bother me? I have family in northern Russia I used to visit in winter, this'll be a walk in the park," Tamika smirked, she then reached up and pinched one of Jets cheeks, "Aw, afraid of a little rain baby?" Tamika rested her head back down on Jet's shoulder as he answered his phone, and quickly became amused by his little outburst. "Who's a lucky s-o-b?"
