She didn't know why she was up here but she was. She didn't know how or when she got up here but she did. She just let her feet wander around and paid not attention to where they carried her and through what direction. She was alone...for now, until someone came along..if people walked up here. She looked out over the mountains side. It was a beutiful view. You could see all of Orchid and Cardsdale and byond. It was breathtaking and the air was soo fresh. One thing she didn't like much at all was the wind. It was cold but not much colder than Atlanta. But she hated the fact that it was soo strong and nearly blew her off her feet so she took a few steps back to the more sheltered refuge of the mountains face. "Stupid wind," she said loudly. I'm going to sound like a complete idiot if someone comes around the corner, though how anyone would be able to hear over this wind, I have no clue.

Saturday! And another thing, it wasn't even raining! Scott had decided that it was high time he gave Corey a more adventurous patrol route than the Orchid and Cardsdale area. Besides, he was getting a bit bored of it himself. He gazed up a the mountains as he packed a lunch for himself and Corey. The wind was cold and the sky was a light blue-grey but nevertheless it hadn't rained since Thursday morning so it would be vaguely dryish up there. An hour later and a fleece-clad and booted Scott and leadless Corey were jogging up a steep slope halfway up the nearest mountain to Orchid. There was a ledge and a nice sheltered place to take a break. Boy and dog panted loudly up onto the windy ledge to find they were not alone. "Isolde!" Scott called and removed his hat to wipe sweat from his forehead. "Wha- Corey sit!" Corey had darted up to Isolde and proceeded to jump and bark at her. "Corey!" At his name Corey gave Scott the satisifcation of looking back at his master before continuing to paw and bark at Isolde. "Bloody dog, Corey come!" Scott put on his master-tone as he rooted around in his rucksack and Corey reluctantly walked back. Lead located and clipped to Corey's collor (of course he immediately tugged on it attempting to reach Isolde again, meaning Scott had to stand on the lead with both feet) Scott looked up at Isolde, "Sorry about that. He usually doesn't do that but he was being friendly. Weren't ya Cor?" Scott replaced his hat and put on his ski-jacket to block out the chilling wind, he picked up the lead but grasped his dog's collor to be on the safe side and joined Isolde in the shelter.

Isolde laughed as the dog jumped up on her attempting at what she would call, a hug. She smiled as Scott got frustrated with him not obeying him but eventually did. "Sorry about that. He usually doesn't do that but he was being friendly. Weren't ya Cor?" Scott apologised. "It's quite alright," she squatted ot the dogs height and stroked him, "You're just being a friendly owled chap," Corey, barked in response and again she laughed. She had always got on well with dogs for some strange reason. "He was just given me a hug," she went back up to her normal height and turned to face Scott. She had seen him about school but hadn't had enough time to stop and chat. Best to make up for lost time, "How've you been?" she stroked the dog absent mindedly.

Scott smiled as Corey literally lapped up the attention, but Corey's enthusiasm puzzled him. Corey was never like that with anyone but him and Morgan. Not even with Jackie. Perhaps Isolde had a gift of animal magnetism or something. Or maybe there was something about her he liked. Her smell? Her ready smile? Her gentle tone of voice? Her carefree body language? In fact the more Scott thought about it, the more he wondered why she was a Warrior. Her personality just didn't seem to fit. Well, whatever it was, Corey had taken an immediate shine to her. Scott knelt on his hunkers to unzip his rucksack. He pulled out a waterproof map and laid in on the slightly damp grass. He considered the cold temperature of the ground, reached into his rucksack again and folded a spare thick hoodie on the map and a crammed Tupperware box. Scott sat on the map and slapped the hoodie beside him indicating Isolde to sit on it so she could join him without getting bum chill. "I've been good thanks what about yourself? Kitkat or Kendal mint cake?" Scott held up the two small bars to allow Isolde to take her pick.

"I've been grand thanks and the...Kitkat please," she never really had been a big fan of mint, "But if you want it, I'll take the other one," She stood there awkwardly for another minute or so before she finally sat down beside Scott. She looked out to the school and saw some of the many couples of Orchid walking along the lake. Then suddenly out of her peripheral vision she saw something soaring towards her with great speed. "Hello Julian," she greeted the lemur before it was more the five feet away. The lemur landed swiftly and softly on her shoulder and covered her eyes. His way of saying 'Hello' and 'I love you'. She giggled a bit as it uncovered her eyes and came to just sit on her shoulder without moving. "I love you too," she turned to Scott, "This is Julian, my lemur, though I guess you noticed that. I named him Julian after none other than King Julian from Madagascar." The lemur jumped of off Isolde's shoulder to stand in between them and then sniffed his arm. Another way of him saying 'Hello' but for strangers but an irritated noise came from him. "Julian," she called to him in a reproachful tone, "Be nice,"

Scott lay the KitKat beside Isolde and packed away the Tupperware box. "Hello Julian," Isolde said cheerfully and Scott looked up to find a most grey creature bounding up to Isolde, which covered her eyes playfully. Isolde giggled sweetly and Scott couldn't help but release a laugh himself. "I love you too," Isolde greeted Julian the lemur. She introduced her lemur to Scott and said, "I named him Julian after none other than King Julian from Madagascar." Scott laughed, he like the film too but when you've been forced to watch it, listen to it courtesy of small children, eat with the characters on the end of your cutlery, it got a bit overwhelming sometimes. The lemur bounded toward Scott to sniff his arm. Scott didn't move in an effort to show Julian he wasn't a threat. Often he had small creatures running away from him in fear or attacking him with ears back and fur erect. Or maybe that was just Jackie's cat. Julian made a noise which he assumed was a growl in lemur speak and Isolde reprimanded him, "Julian, be nice." "Ah never worry I get that a lot. That or wailing screaming noises." Scott reached his arm into the rucksack putting back the Kendal Mint bar and pulling out a banana. "Here Julian," Scott peeled the banana, "I'll split it with you if Isolde says it's OK?"

((She says that she'll let Julian decide....we could be here a while.))
Taking out a banana, Scott peeled it then while telling and asking Julian and Isolde at the same time, "I'll split it with you if Isolde says it's OK?" She smiled and nodded, "It's ok, but Julian, you better be nice to him from now on, or no more mango for a week." she glared at the Lemur. Julian looked at her with wide eyes and made a despairing sort of sound. To show he would be nice to Scott he ran up to him and put his wee paws over his eyes and made the same 'I love you' sound just as he had done with Isolde a few minutes before. "You better stay like that or I will carry through with that threat and you know I will." she looked at him sternly before looking back at Scott. "Sorry, that lemur can be so....frustrating at times and I know his favourite treat is mango. He only gets it once a week if he's been a good boy," she smiled apologetically at him, "Wait...how come most animals do that to you? You can't be born an animal repelllant...actually I'm starting to think not everything is impossible since I came here...but there must be some animals that don't do that..right?" It didn't seem fair that most animals rejected him.

"...there must be some animals that don't do that..right?" Isolde questioned Scott. He held up the banana for Julian. "I don't really know. I probably smell ferral due to the ... donataions of fur from my pal Corey there." Corey cocked his head and whined at Scott as he recieved a sarcastic smile. "I think it's simply my size though. I seem to be good with horses and bigger dogs, but tall and reasonably broad seems to scream 'predator' to anything under three-feet and they freak out at me." Julian finished off the banana and licked Scott's fingers. "Of course bribery seems to win over a few." Scott laughed.

((in answer to your qs in the cbox (it's being ghat and not posting anything i write), i reeeeally can't remember. ^^")
Laughing, Isolde stroked Julian. "He's a sucker for banana's and mango," she she looked at the lemur and rolled her eyes. "So, Corey, how're you today?" she smiled at the dog who had his tongue hanging out of it's mouth and looked like it was smiling. "Do you reckon the wind will give up any time soon?"

Scott simply couldn't help himself. Honest. He indicated at Corey as he said, "Nah he's like that pretty much the whole day after he's eaten breakfast." Scott let it sink in a little and then tried not to laugh as he took a sideways glance at Isolde's reaction. It failed. "Sorry, you gotta watch my sense of humour sometimes. Often it's no better than ma wee brother's." He looked out at the stunning view. It really was beautiful. But in a wild and boundless way. He was an inspired guy, probably because he spent most of his time looking for it, and he could see why poets wrote about places like this. Sparse in reality but full of character in the eyes of the artist. "But you're right, it's a bit blustery up here." He drew his attention back to Isolde and took in her attire. Not even water-proof. "Well, if you're cold." He lifted his left arm and hand to make a 'halt' gesture and drew his right hand across it from left to right quickly. To Scott's surprise it actually worked first time. The force of the wind was redirected past the dent in the cliff-face where they were sitting by a barrier that Scott had set up. He had no idea what it was called but at least he wasn't screwed for his Air practical exam! "Better?"

Isolde blushed a little and held her smile in place. "Yes, thank you. So you have a little brother then?" Wondering what little brothers, any brothers in fact, were like, Isolde grimaced. She would love to know what it was like but she only ever had sisterly love from an older and younger sister. The closest thing she had to a brother was Niamh's older brother back in Ireland. "What's it like?"

Scott thought for a way to describe the experience of a little brother. "It's like... do you have any brothers or sisters?" Isolde nodded, "Two sisters, one’s 12 and the other’s 20." "Well my younger brother, mini-man Morgan who is 9 now, is like your younger sister when she was 4 but less annoying and more Scooby-Doo and snot. Seriously. You may laugh but I swear that lad has no control." Scott smiled as he thought of home. “He’s a brilliant kid though. And Jackie’s great and she’s turning into the prettiest girl, Granda’ll have to fight ‘em off the door until I get back home.” Scott spoke as much to himself as to Isolde, he was so lost in memories of home he could barely see the landscape.

Isolde laughed but her head was away with what he'd just said. Satine had never really been that bad, of course there were days when her mum dad Aries and herself had wanted to strangle the kid but other than that she was pretty well behaved. "Haha, you should bring him here sometime," she suggested smiling at him and showing her teeth, "I'd like to have my hand at him, it would be quite fun I reckon," Julian then jumped on her left shoulder and curled her tail around her neck while she gave him a piece of her KitKat. Silly, owled Julian, she shook her head in amusement at the lemur. He was a funny old chap and had lived with her since she could remember. He was a surprise. "So what you're saying is, your little brother is like a....monkey who is outta control and needs taming?"

Isolde's laughter brought Scott back to her, "You should bring him here sometime," He flicked his gaze to her and her smile somehow seemed to set off her eyes. "I'd like to have my hand at him, it would be quite fun I reckon," He smiled as she tended to her pet as if he was part of her. It was cute. "So what you're saying is, your little brother is like a....monkey who is outta control and needs taming?" Scott's smile changed to surprise, "What? No! 'Cause that would change him and I'd hate that. I like to know where I stand with people. Well what about your sisters? They tolerable? If they're anything like you-" Scott stopped himself short before he utterly embarrassed himself. He crossed his fingers in his head that Isolde would either not notice or pretent not to.

Scott cut of and Isolde looked up to see his mouth form a thin line. What had he been about to say? Did she want to know? "Satine and Aries are very tolerable, we hardly ever get into fights and we always share and stuff. They're the best sisters anyone could ask for in my opinion." she smiled slightly at one particular memory of them. "So, we'll keep your brother the wild monkey he is then. No taming," she looked at him smiling. What had he been about to say? As she gazed at the ground Julian suddenly covered her eyes and made his wee impatient sound, "Julian," sighing she pried his paws away, "What are you doing?" They sat there for a couple of minutes in comfortable silence before Isolde decided she was going to ask, "Scott?...What were you about to say?"
