Physical Description: Tall at 5’9”. She has dark brown wavy curls which fall past her shoulders. Her dark brown eyes are very bright and sparkly, reflecting her personality. She has her ears pierced twice in the lobe and on her left ear she has a cartilage piercing too; however she usually only wears one pair in her lobes. As well as this she has her belly-button pierced.
Clothing Description: Nadia’s favourite colour is purple but she does not like to wear it too much – only for things she wants to look really good at, like formals and special events. She will wear any colour – they all suit her – apart from orange. When worn by Nadia… well she doesn’t look entirely normal… her skin goes a very weird colour… not human looking. She tends to go for well fitted clothes that accentuate her curves. She is not usually indecently dressed but occasionally she will get a bit… skimpy… but that has to involve her being very… out of character… Her favourite colour to wear is red. She doesn’t go in for skirts much, only on certain occasions and even then only when she is in a certain mood. She tends to prefer dark jeans that really show off her long legs – dark blue, dark grey, black or denim with a greenish tinge. She likes to wear dresses but can’t often find the right occasion for them. Her favourite type of jacket is ¾ length and she has many of these in different colours.
Her footwear is usually high heeled – not that she needs the extra height – but she won’t wear shoes that are the least bit uncomfortable. It takes a lot to get Nadia into footwear that’s not specially made for her. Her favourite shoes are high and purple, like four or five inches high, with a purple ribbon bow keeping her feet in place. She also has to wear glasses, but only for reading so she is not often seen with them on (she prefers to read in privacy). Her favourite pair is black and white but she also has a purple and blue pair. From time to time she will wear contacts to lighten her eyes or she will sometimes just go for a completely random colour.
Personality: Though she has a positive outlook she is always wary of people as she firmly believes no one is good right the way through. When becoming friends with people she always looks at their history believing that that is a key to understanding the way they are now. She likes to know what’s happening in regards to relationships etc but she doesn’t like to involve herself in their personal matters; but basically she is quite nosy. She doesn’t like to tell people about her gift of reading lies preferring to go along with it so they don’t feel uncomfortable. She is usually in a good mood and it can take quite a bit to get her down. On the inside though, she is still hurting about her family. She won’t talk about this with people who she doesn’t fully trust and even then it’s a battle. She tries to see the good in people despite what she believes and is not usually one to judge. She can’t bear betrayal as that goes deep. When she says she’ll do something she will… she won’t only in very unusual circumstances. So basically Nadia is dependable and you can trust her as she is not one to gossip… much anyway…
History: Transfer student from a modelling academy her parents forced her to join… loves reading older brother who hurt her by betrayal. She comes from an average wealth background, but her parents always wanted to be of the top class. Nadia and her brother didn’t mind so much but it was something that really mattered to her parents. Nadia wasn’t loved in the same way as ordinary children or even in the same way as her brother. Her parents loved her good looks, they wanted her to marry well – they were obsessed by it, they thought that that would raise their class. But Nadia was firm with them that she wouldn’t marry for anything less than love. Knowing that they couldn’t force her to say “I do” they dropped it for a while and they didn’t seem to notice her so much. Her brother William always cared for her but she misunderstood him. Her parents would often go on trips – usually gambling trips to try and get more money, they were obsessed by it, now that Nadia wasn’t going to secure their future. She was fifteen at this stage, and it was at that age that something happened between her and William at the time aged 19.
Her parents were both away again, but only for a weekend. The original plan had been for a week but Nadia was only told last minute the change of plans. Her parents didn’t really talk to either child much but they always remembered to alert them to their outings. No one in the family had an alcoholic problem or a drug/smoking problem. At this time William was out most nights but as his parents were away he brought his friends around. Nothing happened the first few nights but some looks in Nadia’s direction but the night that their parents were due home (though William wasn’t aware of this) one of William’s friends came up to Nadia and started flirting with her, trying to make a move. She was rather scared as she could tell from his breath that he had been drinking but didn’t think anything would actually happen, she thought that William would stop it if something did. But when the guy made a grab at her William did nothing but laughed. It was then that Nadia’s power of reading people developed (she already had perfect recall). Luckily at that point her parents came in and his friends were all sent home. William got speaking to his parents before she did and made up a story about Nadia harassing his friends. Her parents didn’t know what to do with her. She never talked to them and spent all of her time with her dog hiding in her room. She had a fondness for books which her parents could never understand.
They decided without consulting her that she had to be sent away. They did not know about her gifts at this point – she purposely kept it from them. Though they were sending her away they did want to make money from her, so they looked up modelling agencies, and found The Modelling Academy, which paid its pupils for modelling jobs. She was sent off within a week and they assured her that her work money would get to them unless she wanted her dog to die (the academy did not allow dogs or pets of any sort). So she went and stuck it for a year and a half. She had managed to save a little of the money she made and sent the rest home. She actually ended up with a small fortune – she was extremely popular. When she turned seventeen she learnt how to drive and bought herself a car. She did quite a bit of research on the internet and learnt about Orchid Hill and decided to apply. By this time her third power had developed and she decided not to risk going home to get her dog – she never wanted to see her family again. So she drove to Orchid and applied. She used to send the same amount of money home every few months to ensure her dog’s well being when she find out that he had been put down as soon as she left. She cut all ties with her family. She still gets the occasional modelling job to ensure an income but aside from that she is done with all memories of her family.
Gifts: 1. Controls the colours that other people see… she can also temporarily blind someone with one block colour of white or black for example. However she dose not often use this power. 2. She can tell when people are lying 3. Perfect recall – she can remember without fail anything she’s ever seen, tasted, heard, touched etc… very useful in exam time!
Pets: A dog but she had to leave her behind as the modelling academy did not accept pets.
Other: Bites her nails when nervous or thinking... so she bites them nearly constantly (during modelling she was forced to wear fake nails). Has a fear of being underwater, but no hatred of water itself. Her passion is books though one may not think it when you are around her. She is also a little nervous when around cats… she’s not scared of them exactly… it’s more like a deep, deep fear. She enjoys arts and craft though she hates to study them.
