It had seemed that the world around her had melted away. Macy was binded into the grass, and nature had just continued around her.
It was a Tuesday evening, and she was meant to studying, but as she sat at her desk, she craved to be outdoors, in the grass. She could hear the birds sing in the trees above her, and a few flies buzzing around her. Her long blond curls were sprawled around her, and people who walked past her didn't notice that it was the Head of the Academics who was lying on the grass, but some hippy ice controller wearing a black t-shirt with a skull on it, and a long flowery skirt that was spread out around her. She felt so peaceful, so one with nature. She wanted to transform into a bird and fly around with the flocks, but she was just to relaxed on the ground.
"Macy! What are you doing out here? In the grass..."
Macy hoisted herself up to turned around and smiled at Steve, who was coming from the direction of the forest.
"Hey, Steve. I'm just relaxing. What were you doing in the forest?" She asked, falling back down on th grass.
"Just exploring. How're you then, today?" He asked, lying down on the grass beside her.
"I'm good, Meant to be studying, but it's a really nice day." She said, laughing. Steve laughed too, as he adjusted himself, putting his arm under his head.
Macy continued to stare up at the sky, until she felt strange, like someone was looking at her. She turned around to Steve, and the realised it was him. She raised her eyebrow, but he didn't seem to notice, he just stared at her, his face full of concentration. She turned around, and watched a plane that was very high up, fly past. She listened to some people fly football near them, but apart from that, it was very peaceful.
She then got a shock, when Steve took her hand. They were sitting very closer to each other, so to other people couldn't see it. The shock went away when Steve realised that he was electrocuting her, and began to earth all of the energy though him.
"Is this...okay?" He asked her, watching the sky too.
"Yeah, it's fine. Nice. But, um, no this will sound weird." She said, swallowing her question.
"No, no, what is it?" He asked, turned to her, to look at her. She looked at him too, and smiled. She then rolled her eyes, and faced the sky again. She felt Steve squeeze her hand, wanting to know what she was going to ask.
"Augh, okay, right...okay, is your hand...warm?" She asked, frowning.
After a pause, Steve burst out laughing. "That's all you were going to ask me? Well, yeah, I think my hands are warm. But your's are freezing! Seriously, I think my hands are frozen to your's now." He said, laughing. He then realised that Macy didn't seem too happy. "What's wrong?"
"No, it's just, I wish I could feel them. Yes, I can feel your skin, but not the warmth. I know it sounds silly." She said, rubbing her eyes.
"Here, can you feel this?" He asked. Macy shook her head, but then felt her hand feel static. She laughed at it, as it tickled her hand.
"There, is that better? You can pretend that it's warmth, instead mild electric shocks from a human battery." He said, laughing too.
"It's great, thank you. It can be, like, a secret between us. That only you can do. So, you can do this to anyone else!" She said, in a bossy way.
"Oh, of course not, I'll never do this to anyone else." He said, smiling.
Macy leaned her head of his shoulder." Oh, Steve," she said, sighing. "You make me feel so happy." She felt a larger shock go though her hand when she said this.
"Yeah, me too." He said quietly, resting his head on top of hers.
After a few minutes, Macy realised the time. They had been sitting outside for so long!
"Oh, gosh, it'll be getting dark soon. We better go in." She said, starting to get up. He pulled her back down, and rested his head back on top of hers. "No, Steve, we need to get in."
"I want to run away. Get away from having to be in at certain times, get up at certain times, eat at certain times..." He said, staring at the sky. Macy bolted upright and stared at him, giving a literally icy look.
"No, Steve. No. Don't do that to me. Never do that to me. Do you know how I felt when I was told that you were missing? Do you know what it was like for me, when we found you in the alley? Never, Steven Oscar Ritzski! Okay?"
"Okay! Okay, I won't do it, I don't want to make you feel sad. And weird, you full named me." He said, sitting up.
As she tried to calm down, she sighed and stood up. "Come on, do you want to go to the Common Room for a while? I'll get a packet of cookies, and you can make sure there's no-one in our seat, or you can kick them off." She said, putting out her hand, to help Steve get up. He took it, and got up, dusting the grass off his arms.
"Macy," Steve said, ask they were walking into the school. "You're my best friend, you know?"
"Yeah. You're mine too." She said, a few steps ahead of him.
"Cool. Just wanted you to know." He said, catching up to her, and slinging his arm around her shoulders. She heard someone down the corridor wolf whistle at them, and, not knowing who it was, she sent a slither of ice down their back.
