Being oblivious is quite a lovely state to be in, normally.
Joshua left the house at 10 that morning. He had the late shift at work and so was planning to spend the morning getting his groceries and some other bits and bobs for the flat. He had just left the door to his building and was walking down the alleyway that lead to the roads. Part of his normal routine when heading to town. Unfortunately, he failed to hear the footsteps approaching over his iPod. A tap on the shoulder caused him to turn, and he was greeted with a punch in the face. Cursing, he threw a fist, attempting to hit back. His efforts failed as whomever was attacking was now behind him, trying to push him to the ground. Joshua’s knees gave in, and he dropped. He now gave up retaliating, and didn’t even bother as he was kicked in the ribs, or as his messenger bag was pulled over his head and he heard footsteps running off. Joshua lay for a few minutes, hissing and swearing as he tried to get up. Eventually, after using language that would make a fishwife blush, he got onto his feet. He thought about going home, but that wasn’t an option, he needed to go get something for his ribs and general pain. Stumbling off, he walked to the square, pulling fragments of his broken iPod out of his skin. He flopped onto the first bench he came across at the square, ignoring the looks he got from strangers. How on earth could there be a mugger in a place as small as this… Looking up from his shoes Joshua spotted a familiar face. Someone he knew would be nice at this time. He forced himself up and shuffled over to where Will stood. “Will…” He said, giving a feeble smile. “Hiya…”

"Will...hiya..." Will turned to see blood running down his face and him hunched over to one side and staggering like he was drunk and in pain. "Oh my god! Josh what happened to you?" she asked and brought him over to a bench and started to heal him. She saw the broken iPod and and is bloody face. "Josh, what happened? she asked curtly.

Joshua gave Will a small smile and nod of thanks for healing him. "I was mugged..." He started, "On my way down the alley from the flat... Some randomer... He took my bag." It dawned on Joshua that the majority his belongings that had meaning were in that bag. His phone, his camera, his moleskin jotter that his dad got him. Bugger. "Is there a cop shop about here? I need to get it back..."

"Yeah, don't you mean police station?" Will asked slightly taken aback by his choice of the word 'shop'. While she healed him she texted Tamika to tell her what happened. "I think Tamika better come see this," she gestured towards his iPod, "I may leave a couple of bruises as proof of the mugging too," And she did. "Does anybody have any grudges on you around here?" Will did know one person..but he wouldn't do such a thing.

“Same difference really,” Josh replied, whimpering as Will healed his ribs. He frowned as she mentioned Tamika coming, “Does she have to? I don’t want to make a big deal of it…” A grudge…? I've only lived here since Christmas. “I don’t know many people here and those I do I get along with so I don’t think anyone does…” Although Kiwi boy did have a disliking…

Will studied him for a moment before answering. "No, she doesn't have to and even if she doesn't, don't you think she would want to know?" Will asked, half rhetorically and half expecting an answer. When she was done healing him, she turned and looked at the fountain. Birds were perched everywhere. "I suppose that's true, but still, anyone?" she knew Josh knew. And she knew that they both thought of him at the same time.

"She probably would but... Myegh..." There was no point in arguing with Will, she'd just give him that look that girls do that make you feel like a right git. Joshua looked down at his feet as Will asked him again, "Will, both you and I know who doesn't like me in the area, is there much reason for saying it aloud?" They looked at each other, and Josh was about to say something when he heard a shreik and someone say his name. "Joshua! What on earth happened to you, love?!" Tamika asked, in that high pitched voice people do when worried. She crouched beside where he side and gasped as she saw the blood japs on his t-shirt. "I, uhm... I was mugged..." Joshua said quietly, suddenly not wanting to talk much. He really didn't want to seem like such a pansy. Her eyes went wide as she gave Joshua a light hug, "Oh love..." As Tamika let Joshua out of her arms she turned to Will, "Thanks for letting me know, Will," she smiled.

"Thanks for letting me know, Will," Tammy smiled. "My pleasure," Will nodded before turning to Josh and answering his unspoken question with her eyes. "Yeah, I guess we do....but I don't think he would stoop to that level....I empahsise the think," she stared at her friends. "But then again I could be wrong, I only know one person who could tell us about him for sure," she touched Josh on the arm sympathetically before she was called away by her oncoming premontion. Joshua's mugger hit him to the ground and ran of with his stuff. "Oh that......ugh!" Will shook her head ash she came out of it, "How the hell-" Words flew about her head but she was not going to use them. She wanted to beat the daylights out of that person but she wouldn't. She was Head of the Carers. "That..UGH!" she was about ready to scream, "Josh, what do you want to do? We can get your stuff back but what do you want to do?"

"I just want my bag back, then I want to go home... I don't care about anything else, just my bag..." Joshua sighed, staring at his shoes. Tamika frowned at Will, "Did you see something there, Will?"

A dark look was plastered on her face and she couldn't get rid of it. "Something like that," she replied savagely.

"Presuming a couple of minutes ago you guys meant Brad did it, it wasn't him. I was with him for the last hour, and the idea he would get someone to do it for him is ridiculous. Orchid students aren't exactly something out of Goodfella's, are they?" A cough from Joshua interupted Tamika's rant. "Can I borrow a pound of someone please?" He mumbled. "What do you need, love?" Tamika asked, fishing in her pockets. "A cup of tea..." "I'll be back in a tick then," she smiled, jumping onto her feet and heading over to a cafe to get his drink.

Will's eyes followed Tammy's everystep until they were inside the café before turning to Josh. "Despite what she says and even though she was with Brad this morning, I know he had something to do with this. Don't worry Josh, I'll find out and get your stuff back," Will smiled sympathetically but her thoughts were else where. They were ohn the premonition she was just after having. She knew who had stolen his stuff but she knew Brad was behind it. It was like a sixth sense she was having.

"I honestly don't really care who did it, I mean, I doubt it's some serial mugger..." A smiling Tamika came back and handed Josh a polystyrene cup. Gulping it down he rose to his feet. "Thanks guys, I think I'm gonna go home for a while.." Giving the two girls a brief hug Joshua started to hobble his way home.
