((This is set on Easter Monday))
Will took a deep breath as she placed her hand on the cold, gold handle. This was not going to be pleasant.
She walked through the porch and into the house. The hall was spotless as usual. Victoria's doing as usual.
"Hallo?" Will called out.
She dropped her bag on the ground and started hunting down her godparents.
They weren't in the living room, kitchen, billiard room, study, conservatory, their room, her room...nowhere.
"Well that's nice, I come home and they're not here to greet me," she threw herself on the couch in the living room and started channel surfing. Soon she had fallen asleep and was awakened by the front door slamming.
"Vicky? Adam? Is that you?" she jumped up and ran too the door only to find it leaning agaisnt the wall, "Guess not then," she sighed adn turned back to the sofa when something poked her in the side.
"Aaaah!" she screamed and jumped.
Laughter boomed out, soprano and bass.
"We got her again," Vicky's voice answered and then her body appeared, beside her was Adam.
"I really hate it when you guys do that!" Will glared at both of them and smiled.
"Oh, we know, just having a bit of fun. Welcome home hun," Adam pulled her into and iron clasp hug. Vicky joined in.
"We missed you soo much!" Vicky was crying again, it showed in her voice.
"Yes. Vicky here has being going just about crazy these past few months," Adam sat on the opposite sofa,"We've all been missing you as a matter of fact, including gramps."
"Gramps?" Will stared at him blankly.
That was a first. She ahd never really spoken to Gramps or kept in touch with him...actually she never really had anything to do with him. So why-
"Yes, Gramps missed you too," Victoria repeated.
"But..why?"
"Because-" Adam was about to speak but he was cut of.
"Because you are my granddaughter and as my granddaughter I love you and I care about you, isn't that enough?" Gramps rounded the corner from the front door holding his old arms out in a gesture for a hug. Will stood there perplexed for a second before smiling warmly at him and crossing the room and into his opened arms.
"Of course it's enough," she sighed against him.
"Ok, ok, stop being a leech and let me move," he pushed her jokingly.
"Never!" Will smiled and kept huggin him,"You're my prisoner now!"
Gramps sighed and walked on with her clinging to him.
"Have you told her yet?"
Victoria and Adam looked at each other and then away.
"Not yet," Adam admitted.
"Told me? told me what?" Will stepped forward looking between the three of them and when none of them answered she turned to her god father, "Tell me what Adam?"
Adam sighed and finally looked into her eyes, "You have your mothers eyes and hair,"
"Adam?!" Will glared.
"Erzählen Sie über Ihren Bruder," he sighed and glanced at Victoria who was watching Will's reaction.
"Bruder?" Will was blank.
"Ja, bruder." Adam repeated.
Will stared at them like they were totally and utterly insane. She looked at her grandfather but he had his eyes closed and was breathing evenly. It was a while before she broke the silence between all of them.
"Aber ich habe nicht einen Bruder! Ich hatte nie eine, wie kann das geändert haben plötzlich? Wie kann, nach all diesen Jahren von mir, ein einziges Kind, haben plötzlich einen Bruder?!" Will was still, her voice calm.
"Yes, you have. No one ever told you because they couldn't and they swore to your parents they wouldn't. The only time we would be allowed to tell you is if they had both died and when you were 16 or nearly 17. They were going to tell you earlier if they hadn't died. Will don't blame us, we swore not to tell you, you can't have expected us to break that, especially at how they died, can you?" Victoria spoke up.
Will just stared at them all in dibelief.
"Nein. Nor can you expect me to not be angry about this. You can't just barge in a surprise me like that then suddenly drop a bomb shell on me saying that!" she cried out.
"Will, please try to understand that-"
"I mean come on. How can you expect me to take you seriously. What you thought 'Oh look she's coming home for easter, let's go and tell her that she-'"
"Will! That's enough!" Gramps raised his voice,"That is enough. Now you either apologise to us or you can go to your room and stay there until we say you can come out,"
"Oh come on, that's not fair and you know it. How else do you expect me to react?"
"I expect that the daughter of my daughter to act civilised,"
"Oh yeah, cause you always act civilised," she said sarcastically.
"Das ist genug Will Wright! Sie gelangen auf Ihrem Zimmer. Kein Argument zurück, gehen Sie einfach zu warten und ein von uns. Jetzt!" Victoria was now in front of Will, eyes like thunder.
"Bußgeld! Ich werde aber nicht erwarten, mich zu Wort zu jedem von euch immer und immer wieder. Sie unfair, grausam Menschen. Ich hasse euch alle! Keeping Geheimnisse wie das von mir, wenn Sie kein Recht hätten. Ich wünschte, Mama und Papa hatte nie gestorben ist, ich wünsche ihr hatte man zwei, statt." Will spat towards them and turned on her heal and went up the stairs to her bedroom and slammed it bhind her.
"Good for nothing relatives," and she started to mutter colourfully for a while on her bed.
After a while she put down her book and went to the trunk at the bottom of her bed and rumaged through it till she found a little silver box. She took it out and opened it and took out the removable top of it and rumaged through her poetry until she found what she was looking for.
It was her mum and dad kissing each other when they first started dating. She lifted out another one of their wedding and then finally the one of them in hospital just a few hours after she ahd been born.
"I miss you two so much." she stroked the the picture and wiped away the tears starting to run down her face,"I wish you were here to help me now, god how much I miss you. Mum, dad, I really could use your help now. I'm lost and I don't know what to do,"
Knock, knock.
Go away!
"Will?"
"Go away!"
"Can I come in?"
"I said go away!"
The door opened and closed again. Will didn't even turn around.
"Will-"
"I don't want to talk," she closed her eyes, her voice was steady though the evidence was clear that she had been crying not only a few seconds ago.
"Will ple-"
"Just go."
"Ok, but dinner will be ready in half an hour,"
"Sure," was Will's acknowlegement towards Victoria. The door closed again but she saw something red with the tip of it's tail white, jump up beside her.
"Hey Terrico," she smiled and hugged the fox close.
Are you ok? Terrico looked up at her from under har arms.
"No, I'm not," she squeaked.
You need to go back. You need to release what you feel. I think you should also go down to the others. They're worried about you....and I think you should get to know more of what they told you. Terrico gazed at her face until she looked at him.
"I don't know if I can go back. It's hard to even think about them as dead and as for the others, well, I think they should have told me sooner."
I know it's going to be hard but it might be the best thing and as for the telling. Would you really ahve wanted them to break a promise to your parents? I mean would you have done it?
"I guess not," she sighed and stroked and kissed him,"Thanks Rico, I love you soo much and as far as I'm aware of...the only one who can keep me thinking straight,"
She went downstairs to the kitchen were everyone was assembled. She hung in the doorway.
"Hi...look I'm sorry about earlier on, you just caught me by surprise and though I'm not sure that my reaction was all my fault but still, sorry and I think you should tell me a bit more,"
Adam and Victoria nodded in acceptance to her apology.
Gramps got up and walked slowly over to her and pulled her into a tight hug.
"Your apology is accepted my dear. And no, your reaction was to be expected and it was not all your fault, they should have given you some warning first,"
"What?! You can't seriously think that's our-" Victoria began.
"Victoria, Adam, would you excuse us for about 15 minutes. I would like to talk to my granddaughter alone," Gramps said firmly but smiling warmly down at her.
"Fine, but dinner will be ready then," Victoria huffed on her way out. Adam walked past them but before he went out he smiled at Gramps then put a hand on Will's shoulder and then went to hold her chin with it.
"Sorry bout earlier hun, it's our fault, none of it was yours,"
"Thanks Adam," WIll half smiled.
"You're a great kid, your parents would be very proud of you, that's for certain," he walked out.
Will stared after him before looking up at her grandfather.
"Now, I am going to tell you something that nobody else knows apart from 4 of us, three of which are now dead, so really it's just me who knows about it but now it's time that you knew about it too. I am going to tell you anything and everything you want to know this week about....."
OOC: There are not going to be any translations for the german as it would be a plot spoiler...though some of you know about it. The rest will have to wait.
