"...Steady on there big boy, steady on," Will patted the animal with care.
Chakra was a big ole guy. He was about 18-20 hands and he was her soft spot out of all the horses at the stables. Ever since she had been allowed to go on him she couldn't stop herself from loving him. He was a shire.
He was a sweetheart.
He tried his best to listen to what you said, cantered as best as he could and jump what he felt like he could.
Although today he didn't feel like doing half trial jumps never mind full trial. And what he wanted was what she had to do.
Ever since last summer and his old owners...well he had been bought by the farmer and had been in an awful state. His previous owners hadn't shoed him properly, hadn't fed him with the right feed, hadn't grromed him properly, had left him out in an awful field filled with rocks, uneven surface, poor grass, lots of muddy pools and in the sweltering heat. With a blanket on none the less.
The farmer had done an awful lot to get him back up to this standard. Once Chakra had realized that Farmer Teddy was trying to help him instead of hurt him he began to trust. Not only him but other people around him and he had become a big softie.
Though after all that, his hooves and joints were not in the best conditions and he was on meds now. So if he didn't feel he was in any shape to do low or high jumps she had to listen and not push him.
"There now, who's a good boy, eh?" she rubbed his shoulder. She was just after cantering around the medium sized field on him. She loved his canter, it was so...steady and not bouncy at all. That's another thing she loved about him...actually there were too many things she loved about this particular horse.
Chakra neighed in response to her question and she laughed. She heard the cows moo in the other field and start running. Chakra moved to the side away from them a bit more.
"It's ok boy, you're fine," she patted him again.
Then something happened that she hadn't been expecting. Chakra was speeding towards on of the highest log jumps in the field. Will quickly gathered everything up to make it easier on him and herself and got ready to jump it.
One, two, three, four, five, six......slam!
Will lay on the other side of the log, in a daze.
What happened?
One minute she was safely on his back, in the the right position and everything, leaned forward, got over the jump and had ended up on the ground.
A warm breath came down on her face and then she felt fur.
But she wasn't in the field anymore. She was nowhere. She was seeing nothing, if that was even possible.
A noise came from somewhere to her right but it was muffled. Someone was nudging her.
Words started to swirl in her head now. In bold, white font. Words like 'sorry' or 'truth' or 'lie' and so on. Making absoulutely no sense what so ever. She lay there in the field, dazed. Something hot and wet wiped across her face but her eyes didn't open.
Another nudge and wipe across the face and another and another.
Her eyes flew open as the words made sense. Chakra had gotten down on the ground beside her. His hot breath blowing across her face. He was the one who had licked and nudged her.
"It's alright boy, I'm ok," she sat up and stroked his head and he squeled.
"Haha, I know," she got up and took the reins and mounted him while he stood up and then started walking for the stable yard.
The words lined up in her head and she felt her stomach drop.
In order for them to forgive you again, you must tell the truth and face the consequences.....
