Jude smirked at Macy's spirit. "Nice," he said appraisingly. "Y'all got talent, at any rate." He took this as an excuse to have his own go at jumping, and spurred Graphite into action. The horse tossed its head enthusiastically, and pelted towards the jumps at more of a gallop than anything else. A few jumps later, Jude rounded and trotted back over to Macy and Tabby. "I can't see how you don't enjoy this," he admitted.

"Well, I guess it's just me. Atleast you like it, you're talented." She commented on his way that he could control his horse. Usually, Macy would struggle trying to get her horse to just do a simple trot, but, he seemed to have a connection with his horse. She went over the jump again, and came back over to the side of the field. Macy jumped of her horse, and searched though her coat pocket. She brought out a few sugar cubes that were still in their wrappers. She unwrapped a couple and fed them to Tabby. "There you go." She said, quietly to her horse. She turned to Jude. "Do you want one? For your horse, I mean..."

Jude slid off Graphite, and patted him on the nose. The horse looked at him forlornly. He was definitely an impatient guy. Jude would have to take him for a good gallop later. "Thanks," Jude said, taking one of the sugar cubes and letting Graphite have a good munch. "Are those horse cubes or can humans eat them too?" He wasn't above a chewing up a little block of sugar every so often...

"Well, I stole them from the coffee shop in Cardsdale, so I hope people can eat them too..." She said, taking out a brush, and bringing it though Tabby's mane. "She's quite an old horse, you know." She said, rubbing the horse's nose. "I don't know how old, but I think they got her for quite cheap, in the condition she's in. But I love her. People don't think she's good enough. But I know she is. If I had money, and a lot of land, I would buy her." She smiled. "So, you rode a lot before you came to the school?" She asked, trying to make some conversation.

Jude followed Macy's lead, pulling his helmet off and ruffling his hair. He hated it to be flat- and the helmets you got here always made it so. Often, he was tempted just to bring down a cowboy hat (officially known as a stetson in all its awesomeness...) or something, like he used to wear when he was learning how to ride. But the farmer was ridiculously safety consious. The flipping law got in the way of everything... But if Jude was far away enough, he always found a way of making the switch... Picking up a brush, he too began to run it through Graphite's long mane. The contrast between the young, tall strong horse and the small, old and tired-looking horse made Jude feel all the guiltier still. He wouldn't ever have thought to buy Tabby- he would've wanted a horse like Graphite, because he would like a horse he could ride day in, day out, who could keep up with his pace and his tricks. Tabby looked like she may just about die if he tried to do a handstand on her back. And yes, he could do that. How else d'you reckon he got the money? "Loads," he said happily. "Like I said, there was this real nice woman who taught me for free. What about you?"

"I just went to a local riding school, Bloomville Riding School." She said in a posh tone. "My mother made me start going there when I was about six." She hated it there, they were so...posh. Her instructor wouldn't let her do anything, and maybe that was the reason Macy didn't like horses. "My mother has all these rosettes and cups back at home, but I don't have any. Infact, I don't have any awards, apart from things to do my knowledge." Macy really didn't know where her knowledge came from. Her mother dropped out of school when she was 15, and never went to university. When Macy was young, she would picture her father as being some, really smart, professor guy, but apparently he's either that one-night-stand in Vegas, or the cute bartender from Rio, so Macy really had no hope. "I was never really good at riding, and I'm not that good now, actually. But, alas, she makes me do it."

Jude frowned at her, slowing down as he brushed Graphite's mane thoughtfully. "But you're good enough at it..." he said thoughtfully. "I mean, y'all may not have won competitions or whatever, but you still got those jumps pretty well..." He looked up at Graphite and patted the horse's nose. "Ever done any tricks?" Tricks were just about the best dang part of the whole thing... and Macy may just be good enough to pull some off.

"Tricks?" She almost choked at the word. "Um..no, I'm not a very adventurous rider." She laughed."So, go on, what tricks can you do?" She said, hoisting herself back on Tabby.

"Awh, gee..." grinned Jude, kicking his helmet to the side. "Now that y'all asked me that, I just have to show off, don't I?" Kicking Graphite in the sides, he decided not to go too overboard. The Head of the Academics probably wasn't the best of people to show off to- especially knowing he was kind of her inferior and all. But... no-one could begrudge him a bit of a moment, could they? Pausing at the end of a wide expanse of field, he clicked his tongue and Graphite set off at a fast canter. Feeling a rush of pure, poisonous adrenalin, Jude swung himself upwards onto his horse's back- straight into a handstand. It only lasted for a couple of seconds before Jude had swung back down into the saddle; but it was only a few more before he had grabbed Graphite's neck and was swinging himself back and forth from each side of the horse. Back on his saddle once more, Jude tugged on the reins, and Graphite spun around to face Macy and Tabby again. Standing up on his horse in a crouched position, he clicked his tongue and Graphite set off again, both arriving smoothly back beside Macy. Jude jumped off and grinned up and Macy, who was still on Tabby. "I swear it ain't as hard as it looks." 'Cos it did look hard. He knew that.

Macy stared at Jude and Graphite doing the tricks, he called them. "Are you sure you weren't born into a circus?" She said. Tabby even seemed impressed. "Not as hard? My goodness, maybe not for you, you actually know how to ride a horse, but again, remember me actually riding this poor girl. I don't think her heart will handle it!" She said, making up excuses. She really had no idea how she could do them. "I'm sorry, Jude, I don't think I'll be able to do them." She crossed her arms, sternly.

He laughed, running his hand through his hair sheepishly. "Sorry. I ain't a circus kid. I think I would've liked to have been one though. Could've been pretty cool." He eyed Tabby critically. Macy was right- and Jude had been right. Tabby wouldn't be able to handle the type of tricks Jude had just been pulling. But he still thought Macy might be able to pull one off... But she looked pretty stubborn. He smirked at her. "Does it count as assault if I lifted you onto Graphite and forced you to have a go at standing up on him?"

"Well, let's see...if you touch me anywhere funny, I think I'll have to cut your hand off...and if I fall, and break something, I think I'll have to report you, and...what else? Oh, you see that bird over there?" She said, pointing to a crow perched in a near-by tree. "If you hurt me, she'll hurt you. Simple!" She laughed. She jumped down from Tabby and walked over to Graphite. Wow, he was much taller than Tabby...and bigger...and more importand looking. She put her foot into the sturip ((sp? lol)) and tried to hoist herself up, but kept falling back. "Um, can I get a hand here?" She asked, laughing. People would think, from her height, it would be easy for her to get on horses, but she would actually find it rather hard.

Jude laughed at Macy and followed her over to Graphite. He was now feeling quite pleased with himself. If she was getting on Graphite, it meant she was gonna have a go! It was okay- he wasn't gonna try and make her do anything really dangerous. Well... too dangerous. The whole handstand thing could definitely wait. But swinging back and forth shouldn't be too hard. There was bound to be an official name for that. But Jill (his teacher) never thought to tell him... "Okay," Jude bent down slightly and interlaced his fingers, creating a foothold for her. "Put your hand on my shoulder and your foot in my hands, and push yourself up. I'll help you adjust the stirrups a bit better once you're up there. If he's too big for y'all, we'll get another horse. Alright?" His hands waited expectantly.

Macy nervously put her foot on his hand, and pushed herself on the horse. "Sorry if I hurt you!" She screamed, as she almost fell back off the horse. She didn't like being on large horses. How big was this one? It must have been about 16 - 17 hands, easy. Finally, she was sitting properly but rather uncomfortably, though, but still. He adjusted it, so her feet weren't so cramped. She was taller than him, and it was obvious when she was sitting in the place he had just been. "Okay, I'm up here, what do I do next?" She asked, feeling like she was miles away from the ground. She really appreciated Tabby at that moment.

Jude felt a bit like a proud mom as he stepped back proudly to see Macy astride Graphite. Graphite was a big horse, and she was doing pretty dang well! "Okay, safety first," he mumbled, sheepishly jerking his thumb back at Tabby. "I'll go tie her up to that fence. Why don't you do a couple of practice laps of the field? You need to be able to at least do a trot on Graphite, and you may just wanna get used to him." Running around to the old mare who was watching them placidly from beside the fence, he took one of the ropes hung up there and tied her up with a quick release knot. Patting the old girl softly on her nose, he smiled at her and hurried back over to Macy. "Y'all ready?"
