Macy looked around the Dining Hall, while holding a half-smothered piece of toast with peanut-butter.
"Are you going to eat that?" She heard a voice pipe up from beside her, snapping her concentration.
"Eh, no, Steve, here." She handed the toast to the green-haired boy. He had tribal paint on his face, but didn't care. He took it the piece and bita large chunk out of it.
She then saw the head she was looking for. "I'll be right back." She said, not waiting for a reply. She got up, pulling piece of paper from her pocket.
She ran after a girl who was coming down from the main breakfast table that was lain with platters of eggs, bacon, salads, cereals, and whatever else.
"Hey, Trinity." She said, trying to get the girl's attention. The girl looked round and saw Macy was talking to her. She was a very pretty girl, with creamy-coloured skin, chocolaty hair that was in a long plait and had been thrown over one shoulder. She had very dark eyes, and naturally red lips, which made her look like a girl from a fairy-tale.
"Oh, hey, Macy." She said, in a very dreamy voice. She had a strange accent, as she was American-Italian. "What's up?"
"Oh, um, I wanted to ask for your help with something..."
Trinity raised her eyebrows, and said a quiet 'oh!'
"Do you want to come sit down at our table?" She asked, looking over at her usual table was was home to the 'popular kids'. The 'popular kids' were the people who seemed to have three rules: Be smart, but don't care that you are, Don't say too many words, mainly communicate by body language, and be insanely good-looking. They were nice people, but they weren't as fun as Macy's other friends.
"I don't know, it's kinda private..."
Trinity gave her a stranger look, and said a quiet 'okay.'
They walked out the hall, into the corridor. "Right, what did you want to ask me?" She asked, looking into Macy's eyes, then glancing away.
"Okay, you know about what's happening in Cardsdale, and everything?"
Trinity nodded, as they walked past the large doors on the library.
"Well, Kira Norris and I were there a couple of days ago, and we found this-" She said, holding up the piece of paper. It had strange symbols all over it, with strange designs on it. Trinity looked at it for a minute and sighed.
"Well, that there is a mixture of Latin and Greek..." She said, point to a word on the first line. "I think it might mean 'Attention'." She looked at the paper again, and said: "That is the Ancient Irish word that means 'Revolution'."
Before Macy could say anything else, someone jumped on Trinity's back. She screamed, and threw the person down. It was her twin brother, Edgar.
"Hey, Trin! Whatcha doing?" He shouted. He looked up at Macy and said quietly, "Hey, Macy." Macy gave a quick nod, then looked down at the paper.
"We're looking at this thing Macy found in the village. Look at it." Trinity gave the paper to her brother. Edgar looked at it for a second, his equally dark eyes to Trinity's, scanning the paper.
"What is this?" He said.
"Oh, Kira Norris and I found it in Cardsdale, we think it may be propaganda from the enemy army, or something. But it's written in some strange language."
"Yeah, I was able to translate a couple of words, but the rest has stumped me." Trinity added.
Edgar pulled a bagel from his pocket and took a bite from it. "Want some?" He offered them, Macy shook her head, but Trinity snatched it from her brother's hand and bit it. "Hmm...it looks like Lingua of Silva, which is-"
"Language of the Forest." Macy finished his sentence. "Can you read it?"
"Not well, but I can roughly translate it, I think." He squinted his eyes and said aloud, "Attention! We must let all residents know that the time is now. Time for a revolution. Join The Army of the Forest. We must reclaim our rightful land, and redo history. We must rise against the enemy and defeat them with spirit and strength. For all whom will listen to their call to war, speak to any comrade stationed around the village."
Macy stared at the paper that he had finished reading.
"Good translation." Trinity commented.
"Eh, thanks. So...what on earth does this mean?"
"It means that the enemies...Army of the Forest...are recruiting people in Cardsdale...and that isn't good..."
The three of them stood there, trying to get their heads around the information that had been found...the others should know about this, Macy heard the voice in her head tell her.
