Name:
Shaun Christopher Baudelaire
Age:
Shaun was 19 when he died on 29th October 2006. Had he lived, he would now be 20.
Physical Description:
Typical Romany looks - dark, slightly wavy hair and very dark eyes. Shaun was also quite pale, which made his almost-black eyes look even darker. At a height of 6 ft 3, he was pretty intimidating - especially with muscles like his. As a bare-knuckle fighter, his muscles were very... well, pronounced. Or, in other words - bloody huge.
However, while his devil's-angel eyes and intimidating figure caused fear, when he smiled, you knew he's a nice guy. His eyes were almost always lit up with amusement or happiness, and he smiled a lot.
Clothing Description:
Usually jeans and Converse or some form of boots, and usually some form of dark-coloured top. The Baudelaire kids don't really do colour too well. As a guy, he didn't really care much what he put on in the day time, but he was told that he looked good - even if it was only by his fiancée, Cecelia.
Personality:
Like his ancestors before him, he was Warrior right through. Shaun always fought and risked his life loyally for what he believed in and for who and what he loved. His strength and determination usually saw him through everything, and he generally won a lot of the fights, winning somewhat of a name for himself in Orchid Hill.
He was very reckless at times, with somewhat impulsive tendencies, but he was always very careful when it came to other people.
Even though he could be really scary, he was really a sweet guy with a really affectionate. He was an optimist, and could always be counted on to give the bright side of things (though he didn't lie about it, he was very truthful) and give a bear hug when needed. He was an excellent leader, and inspired a lot of people in what he did, not least his sister, Madeleine. He was also fiercely protective of Madeleine (whom he called "Maddie"), Cecelia and his mother, who he called "his girls".
Unlike Madeleine, who adapted well to living in one place, only feeling restless at the times they would normally move, Shaun was always stir-crazy and ready to move.
He had a great sense of humour - and took sarcasm to a whole new level.
Oh, and he cursed kind of a lot.
History:
Shaun's past was pretty much the same as "Maddie's" up until a certain point. He grew up in various gypsy camps around the country, loving the feeling of freedom. He didn't remember much about being Romany until he was four his little sister was born.
Madeleine was his funny younger sister, whom he was always fiercely protective of even from four years old. As they grew older, he knew that Maddie really looked up to him and loved him, and pretty much modeled herself on him - something that really frustrated their mother.
His life wasn't really that interesting until he joined Orchid, aside from an extraordinary strength that had nothing to do with any power. When he joined Orchid, he was placed in the Warrior group because of his morals, fierce loyalty and strength, and quickly rose to prominence.
He never really got into fights like other teenage boys, but he did train a lot. If he was annoyed, instead of hitting a wall or desk, he would take out his anger on punchbags and weights, building himself a pretty impressive set of muscles.
His feats on the battlefield won him fame as a Warrior, and most people were certain that he'd be the next Head. However, as soon as he was seventeen, he left, saying that he didn't want to go down the academic path.
His parents were disappointed, and Madeleine was completely bemused, but if Shaun was honest, he'd trained his powers to the best they could be trained, and the only reason he'd stayed that long was to fight against the enemy.
He continued to do just that, as part of a secret resistance group - but he also followed in the footsteps of his ancestry in another way, and became a bare-knuckle fighter. His parents were pretty peeved, but what can you do?
Just after he left Orchid, they were camped in Warwicke's Glade, near the town of Warwicke, beside the famous Warwicke's Point cliff. There, he was in town buying some coffee, and he met Cecelia, the girl behind the counter of the shop.
There had been no one else there, so they'd starting chatting a little, and ten minutes later, Shaun left with her number - and without the coffee.
And the rest was, as they say, history.
They fell deeply, scarily, madly in love, and found that rare thing in each other - a soulmate. He proposed to her just after they turned nineteen, and she said yes.
And all was happy.
By this point, Shaun had earned himself a name almost as well-known as that of his great-grandfather Davey's - and the enemy got to hear of this. Shaun had made no secret of his hatred for Marius's cause and army, so it was a huge shock when they approached him and entreated him to join them in their army. Obviously, he said no - and none too politely.
A little while later, in Lylis Glen, after Maddie had drank the last of the milk for some coffee, they'd left in the middle of the chess game to go to the local corner shop to get some more milk. As they walked back, a few of Marius's assassins came out.
He'd pushed Maddie towards the trees so that she wouldn't be seen, and tried to fight them off - but there were too many. He was stabbed, then bludgeoned to death with some form of bat.
And that was the end of life.
Gifts:
Fire, tracking (he called it his "GPS" power, because that is basically what it was - his brain could locate the exact location of anyone, no matter where they were or whether or not he knew them) and the ability to make inanimate objects move.
Pets:
Aside from the three successive goldfish he killed when he was six, then no.
Other:
Shaun was one of a very, very, very few fluent Romani (traditional gypsy language, and practically dead in very developed countries) speakers in the country. The reason he learned this because his mum expressed that no one spoke Romani anymore, and it was too complicated for Shaun to learn (he'd failed his French GCSE). Stubbornness paid off.
