Little ol' warrior me. God, it's been a while since I've been able to wear shoes like that. Oh, the constraints of practical footwear.

We don’t really get a lot of pictures of Mum – she’s quite camera shy. This one was taken from Shaun's mobile when she didn’t realise that was what he was doing. It’s probably my favourite of her because it shows her how she really is – she smiles a lot.
Well, she used to. These days, it takes a lot more to get her to smile than it did before Shaun died...

Dad also isn't very fond of cameras, but then again, what forty-something year old guy is? Dad is a really deep thinker, he gets lost in thought a lot. He's a very serious guy - now more than ever. This photo was taken somewhere in Lylis Glen camp, again when he didn't know I was taking it. Oh, God, memories... at that camp, he walked past another me and another girl, Caitlin, and Caitlin turned to me - obviously not knowing who this was - and said, "Ooh, tap that!" Looking back, it's kind of funny, but at the time, it was just traumatising.

Shaun was never camera shy – he was such a poser! It meant that I got great shots of him to keep. He was a bit of a joker, he loved to mess about and annoy people, so he drove me up the wall. The yellow picture was a result of us messing about on photoshop, but I love it so much - he looks so far away, he didn't realise that I had taken it. He was always a dreamer. Having the pictures of him means that I have something to remember him by. It never really gets any easier, but this helps.
I love you. I miss you. Always.

God, the difficulties you get in getting photographs of this boy. There are lots, I swear, but I can never find any where he's actually looking at the camera! I know they're somewhere... Anyway, this is my darling cousin, Russ. This isn't the best photo, but shows him as bloody usual - he's just out of a fight here. I don't know how those cuts didn't scar, and his eye looks pretty nasty. That was a while ago, and he still hasn't curbed his temper... you can take the boy out of the fight, but you're never going to take the fight out of the boy. Especially when he's a Baudelaire. Especially when he's Russ. The guy is an idiot and an ass at the best of times, but he has his good points. He's been a great friend to me, helping me move on from things, and now that we've had time to become cousins rather than exes, I'm starting to realise just how much he does mean, now.
Looking at this photo, though... he looks a little like Shaun - how did I not pick up on this related thing before now?!

Love isn't a strong enough word for what this feels like. It's like... well, he's just amazing. Life is right now. It feels good. Like... there's no pain. I'm safe. And as someone once said, the greatest joy is in loving someone... and knowing that they love you too.
And now, we're engaged. I'll be able to spend my life with him - and I'll be able to love him like this forever. You've no idea how good that feels.
Cecelia Rebecca Harris
Cecelia was Shaun's fiancée - and possibly the most beautiful person I've ever met. Seriously. No one could believe that she'd agreed to marry Shaun... She looks so sweet in that photo; and she really was sweet - she was so gentle and calm and always happy. She and Shaun suited each other well in that respect; they were possibly the happiest two people on the planet, even before they met. When they were engaged, the sheer brightness of them both could give you a headache sometimes. Still, she was a really lovely girl, and I wish she'd had the chance to properly join our family, and that I could have had a little more time to know her.

Nana Magda - or Mags, as Shaun would sometimes call her, though usually that droves her insane. Saying that, she's usually happy to have her name shortened; both she and Mum call it the 'family curse'. It's tradition to name your first-born daughter Magdalene, after my great-great-great-great-great-great-grand-aunt, or someone like that, in her side of the family. Mum escaped it because Granda James told Nana that she'd be saddled with that name over his dead body. I pretty much escaped it; my great-Nana, who I don't remember, kicked up a fuss about Mum's name, so they called me the French version, thank God. Still, it's nice to be (partly) named after someone like my grandma, because she's a really brilliant woman... a little scary sometimes, but definitely amazing.
And though you can't see it in this picture, we have the same eyes exactly.

He's gone now, but I still wonder about him, and where he is, even after what happened.
