Will sat on one of the becnches. She was thinking about Anton again. She was lonley and depressed and she didn't want to talk to anybody.
"Hello Will," came a deep voice behind her.
Will knew who it was without looking, "Good evening Professor,"
Professor Hoodham sat down beside her and looked into her eyes.
"How are you keeping?" his eyes were now boaring into hers.
"I'm....depressed and confused and disheartened," she knew there was no way of lying to him without being caught.
"You know it's not your fault, right?"
"To be honest...no!"
"He was a brave young man and he had a kind heart but he also was courageous and brave,"
"He wasn't brave. How can you call him that when he disobeyed me and went out onto the battlefield anyway, it's stupid. I know everyone else needed him but I needed him too, didn't he even think about that?!" tears welling up in her eyes again.
Professor Hoodham paused for a moment.
"I'm sure he did. Will, what would you have done? WOuld you stay and wait until people came to you or if you ahd the choice would you have done what he did?" he raised an eyebrow as he said this.
Will thought this question over before answereing him.
"I don't know. I stayed were I was told to stay didn't I?"
"Yes, but he had a will to help people and he was keen to to do it. Therefore he went out to the people you were hurt so they didn't have to wait for help or die," he raised his voice slightly but kept it in a friendly tone.
"I know, I know, but-"
"Will, don't dwell on the past, learn from it, but don't let it dictate who you are and who you're meant to be. Learn from it, don't run," he put his hand on her shoulder.
Will sighed and looked at the floor.
"You're right and I know it, but I can't seem to bring myself to let go of him. My path is unbeating and it's all uphill but I can't seem to find a way to get there,"
"You will in time."
"I want him to be here. I want my mum and dad back," she looked up at him.
"We all want what we can't have. It is sad that you lost your parents at a young age," he paused and stood up, "We can't resurrect the dead don't you?"
Will nodded in response.
"Good, now I have to go but please think about what I've said and try and take comfort in it," he smiled at her and left.
"Or that's what you think..."
