Macy walked with the rest of the school into the assembly hall. Most people had no idea what it was about, but she seemed to have some sort of idea. With everything that was happening in Cardsdale recently, it was hard to imagine that some people were completely oblivious, just getting on with their own business.
"Okay everyone, come in and sit down - quietly." Professor Simpson tied to command attention of the hall.
Finally, the hall was silent. Professor Simpson sat down, and Prof. Hoodham stood up in front of the school. Macy was watching the headmaster, but was distracted. She looked behind her, to her right, and saw that her friend, Steve Ritzski, had changed his hair colour to bright green. It had been a light brown, which turned his natural colour after his medication. He looked over at her and waved, and she waved back, smiling.
"Good morning, Orchid Hill."
Macy turned round in time to join in the droan of "Good morning, Professor Hoodham."
"I know you are probably wondering why we have called this assembly. Some of you are aware about the situation in Cardsdale. For the benefit of those who do not know what I am talking about. I have received evidence that enemies of our school are recruiting in our local village, Cardsdale. Some of the comrades of the enemies who are stationed in the village are extremely dangerous. So, until I say, no students are allowed out of the school grounds and into the village. If we find any student in that vicinity, we will deal with you severally. This is for your own safety and the safety of the school. We will not have anyone being kidnapped again." As he said this, some heads turned to Macy, who looked at her feet. "Please take these rules to heart. We do not want anyone in danger." He paused and looked around the hall, skimming the faces of the students. "Assembly dismissed."
The students got up, picking up their things, and headed towards the door. Macy heard alot of whispering around the room, about why they couldn't go into Cardsdale, why it was dangerous, what the school would do to you if they caught you. Macy waved at Steve again, who was entertaining some guys around him by changing his hair colour to black, and then back to green again, just like how he showed her the day she met him. He saw her and waved, then turned back around and walked on with the other guys.
Macy continued to walk out, but the doors where full, so she stopped to let it become unblocked. She looked around the room, day-dreaming, but noticed Kira talk to another girl, who Macy knew to be called Ailith, looking quite suspicious...
