Jack's laugh was infectious and she started rolling too. "Can't you hear yourself?" Will stared up at him. "Vat do you mean? I sound perfectly normal, vell to me I do. Vi? Vat do I sound like to you?" Will asked now interested to know what Jack thought of her accent.

"You sound German," he smiled at her. "What else?"

"I don't know, I just vanted to know i you found my accent funny," Will stared at him for a minute or two before looking to the fields again. The cattle had moved further up the hill but the horses were still in the same place. She spotted Silver in the distance. "Pretty,"

"Yes, indeed, little brother, that is what she is." Jack jumped to his feet in shock, and was immediately humiliated by Mal's loud, mocking laughter. In a sudden, horrible rush of shame, Jack felt his whole frame slump. Mal stood before him; tall, proud- and as calm as always. He looked like he usually did- except of course for the suit, which Jack was still getting used to- and the tell-tale purple rings beneath Mal's eyes. "Mal," Jack said stiffly. "Jacky, who's the bird?" Mal leaned around him, winking at Will.

Will shrank back a little. Bird? "I'm Vill, Vill Vright," Will tried to pronounce her w's as best she could but it ended up as v's again. "You must be Mal," she said coming up beside Jack and staring at his brother. Tall, dark hair, same skin colour as Jack. I she had anything to say she would say they looked like identical twins...nearly.

Mal's eyebrows climbed as he shook Will's hand. "Vill? Vill Vright?" Jack cleared his throat. "Um, sorry, yes, Mal... this is Will, my friend." "She's bloody German," Mal laughed. "Good God. Can't even say her own name right. This that ginger lover of yours then?" "No," Jack said quietly, his cheeks cranking up the hue. "This is Will- my friend." "Right, friend," Mal snorted. "Are you his friend, then Vill?" He cocked an eyebrow at Jack. "The bird speaks English, right?"

Will stared at Jack's brother. This...this brilliant at sports, great fighter, best big brother, idol Jack had spoken so fondly of...this was him. "Pleasure," Will took her hand back very quickly, "Vat is vrong vith being German?" Will was starting to feel sorry for Jack. Now she had a pretty vague but probably accurate guess why Jack wasn't ecstatic about his brother coming. She stared coldly at him.

"God, if looks could kill," Mal muttered, turning away from Will. "Keep that one, little bro. She's got claws. That's always fun..." Jack stood for a few seconds, torn between Will and Mal. Mal was walking away from them both, already bored of taunting them. Suddenly, he turned, glaring at Jack. "Well, you gonna help me out here or what?" Jack turned a little desperately to Will. "I'm sorry," he said quickly, then stopped, and shook his head. "He's my brother, I-" He stopped again, and heaved a sigh. "Sorry." Then he turned away, and followed after Mal.

Will smiled after Jack with the deepest sympathy. God having that as a brother...she shuddered. "So glad I'm an only child," Will muttered, "It's ok Jack, I understand," Will called after him as he helped Mal with his stuff. And what was this thing about her having claws? Talons was more like it.
