Will sat at the bar. She was unwinding down from a week of schools work and other important stuff. "And what may I get you young lady?" the bartender asked. "Pint of Diet Coke please, no lemon," Will smiled politely. "Rightio," he walked off. Will pulled out a book she was reading on Mythical creatures. She opened at the page she had left at and settled down. A few minutes later and she heard someone cough. She lowered her book and saw the bartender. "Thanks Pete," "Welcome," he grinned showing some missing spaces from were some of his teeth had gone missing. Will took a sip and setteled down again.
One of the most well known mythical creature is the Phoenix. This extrodinary bird brings warmth to everyones heart. Many people say that the Phoenix lives up to fifty years and then spontaniously combusts and were the ashes are a newborn Phoenix rises. This is not true. They actually die every ten years or so...
A shadow appeared over her book. Lee was standing over her reading it too. She smiled and pretended not too notice him. Her eyes skimmed over the lines she just read again and again and again.

Lee shook his head wildly as he entered the bar, little droplets of water flying off in all directions. It was absolutely bucketing outside, and since Lee had no common sense, he hadn't brought an umbrella. His hoodie was completely soaked through, and he had the strangest feeling he smelt of wet dog... Lee had been planning to meet Chloe down here, but she'd recently caught the flu. Since neither of them wanted to spend a lunch date with her barfing in his lap, they'd both agreed to reschedule. So then Lee had asked Kira if she wanted to come down, but apparently she couldn't because of 'urgent' Spy work. Uh huh. More than likely she was down here with Deron. He could always pay Deron a visit... but he doubted it'd end well. Well, Lee had his monthly allowance from his parents, and he'd gotten up early for training anyway today. At the stroke of 1 (not quite as dramatic as 12, but come on) he'd headed on down to the village, wondering vaguely whether he could trick Pete the bartender into giving him alchohol. Then he spotted Will. Smiling in relief, he wove his way around the tables and stopped just above her. She was reading a book- something about phoenixes. Lee wasn't a very... 'animal' person, and he was pretty sure phoenixes came under that category. Still- dogs were good, and he did have a soft spot for things that flew. Except flies. He hated flies. "Hey," Lee said, after a moment's pause, pulling out a chair. "Mind if I join you?"

"Not at all," she gestured her hand to the barstool beside her and she put her book down. "My word Lee, you're completely drenced, come here," she whispered that last part. She leant in towards him and placed her hand on his knee. Slowly and sureley he dried out. It went unnoticed too. Yes, she was good. "What do you want? Pete come over here," she lent over the bar to look down at Pete. He came up and looked at her. "Yes m'lady?" he asked politely. "Get Lee here what ever he wants and put it on my tab," she said distractedly. As soon as Lee had ordered his drink she struck up conversation. "Soo, how have you been lately and I thought you were coming down here with Chloe?" she had the look of extreme confusion on her face.

Lee had felt the pressure on his knee, but had decided to ignore it. He knew Will was just using her power to warm him up, and he appreciated it. But it still felt a little... awkward. "I've been pretty... ok," he replied, smiling. "My name's now Larry Scott- but you can ask Seamus about that. Chloe's got the flu. But how are you?"

"Meh, can't complain. Haven't been on the best talking terms with Anton lately but other than that fine," she slightly smiled. She looked outside at the torrential rain. "It's a dismal day today, huh?"

"You're only just noticing that?" Lee grinned, reaching out to take his drink from Pete as he made his way over. Taking a deep swig of gingerbeer, he sighed, and looked over at her book. "Why're you reading that?"

Will snorted, "No. I like reading about mythical creatures and understanding their ways, they've always fascinated me. Then again they didn't put me as Head of the Carer for now reason, right?" she laughed a bit. She sipped her coke and drew a deep breath.

He grinned. "I guess so. You do Battle Training too though- and you're good at it! I guess most stereotypes are just a pile of bull. Excuse my language." He took another swig of gingerbeer, then held up the bottle. "This stuff frees my tongue right up."

"Thanks," she said shyly. "it does with me too, but I don't like the sutff so I'll just stick with Diet Coke!" She looked up at the T.V, nothing but boring stuff on. "Why can't they ever put anythign good on, like The Simpsons, or House or Avatar or something like that on instead of boring old coronation street or neighbours!" she said thouroughly irritated. "Yo, Pete can you put the Simpsons on or Friends?" "Sorry Will, no can do!" he called from the back. "So much for that," she rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, we'll just talk," Lee smiled. He wasn't in the mood for T.V. anyway- he didn't really get it. Having grown up in a completely magic-orientated society, every single one of the programmes Will had just mentioned meant nothing to him. Kira and himself both couldn't sit around for more than 15 minutes watching T.V. before they began to fidget. Lee could hardly believe people would actually sit around and spend hours at a time staring at a little box. It was such a waste.

"Actually that sounds better," Will admitted. She stared absent mindedly out the window. "Wanna get a table or do you want to sit here?" Will finally asked.

"Here's good," he smiled. Following her gaze out the window, Lee tilted his head, watching the sky spit upon the grey cobbled streets of Cardsdale with scorn. No, it wasn't a depressing picture at all. Sighing, he looked back at Will. "Miserable?"

"Huh? What? Miserable, me? nah," Will asked quickly. Truth was she was quite. Now Anton was the one who didn't want to talk to her. She felt horrible, sick to the bone, mind numbingly shilling, depressed for a lack of a better term. "I'm alright," she still stared outside the window.

Lee shifted uncomfortably on his seat, casting around for a topic of conversation. "My mouth tastes all weird and burny now," he said weakly, holding his gingerbeer up. "Cheers!" C'mon, Will, stop staring and start talking...

"Cheers," Will clinked bottles with Lee. She took a sip and finally dragged her eyes from the window. "So......how is your conjuing coming along?" Will lowered her voice.
