Physical Description:
Longish dark hair that his best friend Maggie often likes to attack with straighteners and brown eyes. Average height. Not as mucsled as he'd like. And that's really all he notices.
Clothing Description:
Er... well... he doesn't actually care what he wears. Jeans and Converse do him fine, but Maggie despairs of him and constantly tries to make him wear things that he finds a bit uncomfortable. Like hats. Generally he refuses to agree with her, but the odd time she'll talk him round either through sweet-talk or by losing her temper.
And an angry Maggie is something to be terrified of.
Personality:
Sunny and bright, Josh loves to smile and laugh - when you get him talking. And only when he's in a good mood. He's quiet and really shy, but if you talk to him he's always cheerful. The only person that knows that he's just a good actor is Maggie, who managed to worm the truth out of him without much effort (he sucks at lying). He tends to mope inside his head, and this coupled with a caffeine addiction results in sleepless nights.
As said before, he is really shy, and this can be a bit of a problem. He rarely speaks unless spoken to, which makes people think that he's a bit of a hermit... which he kind of is.
History:
Born into a non-gifted family in Canada, Josh was an only child up until four years ago. Not much ever happened to him except he seemed to have a bit of a talent at music, his choice of instrument being bass.
He wasn't aware of his powers until he was nine, when he discovered that he was able to make a daylit room dark, and make a room light up at nighttime. And his wardrobe suddenly started flapping its doors open and shut, open and shut.
His parents thought that the house was haunted at first, then they realised that it was Josh doing it.
Thoughts of possession came first before they realised he was actually a gifted, though. He always said that his mum watched way too much Most Haunted.
So, life went quite well from then on - well, for two years.
When he was eleven, his mum, Jacqueline discovered that his dad's secretary was pregnant - with his baby.
Their marriage completely broke down, and of course, his dad left the secretary - but got back together with her later - and to this day Josh is sickened by thoughts of his dad and what he did.
He discovered what his third power was- breathing backwards - when his chemistry teacher asked him if he'd breathe into some limewater to demonstrate the effects of carbon dioxide, and the limewater stayed clear. Still, he thought that was just some rubbish limewater.
Then, when he was fourteen, he tried a cigarette. The cigarette was in his mouth, and he raised the lighter to it... well, pure oxygen and fire. You can guess what happened.
So now, when he doesn't live at Orchid, he lives with his mum and refuses to stay at his dad's place, but his mum insists that he plays with his half-sister a lot. He doesn't mind her, though. She's a little annoying, but kinda cool for a three year old.
Gifts:
Josh controls light, can make inanimate objects come to life and move of their own accord, and he can photosynthesize (i.e., he breathes in carbon dioxide and breathes out oxygen, so he's helping combat global warming =) )
Pets:
His three year old half-sister Ava, if she counts.
Other:
Is a rockstar - or, at least, he's going to be. Josh's greatest friend is his bass guitar, at which he's pretty kickass, if he doesn't say so himself. He's also got quite a strong baritone.
