"Bethany's... er." Bethany. Bethany was... She was... But how could you do that, anyway? Say something, and just summarize a person? It was a concept he had struggled with before... and besides, it didn't work like that. He couldn't do it. He couldn't talk about how Bethany's eyes lit up every time she teased him; couldn't do her loud, cackling laughter justice; could describe the dimple in her cheek; the roll of her eyes; the conversation... Couldn't do it. "You'll just have to meet her," he smiled. "She's coming over too, don't worry."

"More people to worry about," she teased. "No, don't worry, for some reason I'm more worried about meeting your parents than your sister." True. For Lee, it seemed to be the total opposite, but then again... "Is she expecting me to be French as well?"

"No," laughed Lee. "Apparently, she's hoping you're going to be some freaky, Gothic rocker with a thick Russian accent."

Now, there was an idea... Madeleine stepped back even further, smiling innocently at him. "Oh, like this?" First, her hair grew longer, pulling itself poker straight from the roots, and turning badly-dyed black, with angry ruby tips. Her skin then lost its colour, fading from its pale but healthy pallor to a chalky, emulsion white. Simultaneously, the skin around her eyes became darker, as though stained by a heavy layer of black kohl. Three ear piercings erupted from her left ear and one from her nose, complimented by a thick silver spike underneath her lip. Her clothes then changed from skinny jeans, a light black top and a khaki military jacket into thick, heavy, black clothes, rigged with silver skulls and chains. Her Converse changed into heavy, leaden NewRox, raising her height up by about three inches. "I can work on the Russian accent if you like," she said, still innocently, watching for his reaction.

Lee could honestly say that Madeleine had never looked scarier in her life. He didn't trust him to reply. Carefully, he buttoned his lip, and waited until the transformation was complete. Looking at her now, it suddenly made sense why she was a Warrior. In fact, right now, it was amazing she could pull of being pretty at all. "I can work on the Russian accent if you like," she said sweetly, her tone like honey. "Madeleine," he croaked weakly, "I really don't think the Russian accent won't be necessary..."

Madeleine laughed, shaking her head and quickly reforming back to her usual appearance before her curls had settled about her shoulders again. "Just as an extra touch," she shrugged, before focusing on his expression, frowning slightly. "Are you okay?"

He shook his head, laughing a little uneasily at the dramatic change and reform of his fiancee. "Yeah... s'just... you can be really scary, you know that?"

Madeleine laughed, stepping close to him. "Sorry," she smiled, softly. "I'm Head of the Warriors for a reason - and besides, I thought that since you were okay with me changing into a cat, an almost-Russian Goth wouldn't be too much."

Lee laughed, stepping forward and slipping his arms around her waist. "There's a difference," he smirked. "You're still cute as a cat."

Madeleine chuckled delightedly, moving closer yet again. "You know, I think that's the first time I've ever been called cute in my life..."

"Really?" he gasped. "But you're so little!"

Madeleine stepped back from him, a mock-hurt expression on her face. "There's nothing wrong with being my height," she said, narrowing her eyes. "Besides, I'm pretty sure I've grown about half an inch in the past while." For her, it was something to get excited about. Most people would think that it didn't make much of a difference, but when you had as few inches as Madeleine did, an extra half-one made a world of difference. "And just because you're irritatingly tall," she added.

"You love it," he winked. "And we're back to me being irresistable. Excellent."

Madeleine arched one eyebrow. "I said irritating, not irresistable. Which don't usually mean the same thing. I think Bethany's right, I am making your head fat."

Lee rolled his eyes. "Well, you've got nobody to blame but yourself, Maddie, love."
