Madeleine laughed. "No, sorry, I'm completely useless! Is it... like... telepathy, but with people with the same gift, and you can carry on normal conversation at the same time?"

"Right on the mark!" Tamika let out a little laugh and smiled, she was quite enjoying talking to Madeleine.

"Woo, go me!" Madeleine chuckled. "Right, I think I've got it..." This had to be the first decent conversation she'd had with anyone since leaving Lee. Since then, really, the only things she had spoken about were Lee (to Kira, and that would not happen again) and battle. Maybe she'd met someone who didn't know about the whole screwup. "How long have you been able to control that for?"

Tamika made a face as she started thinking. "Well... Let's see, I started proper controlling it when I met Pavel and that was when I was 12 so about, 2 or 3 years," she thought aloud, "Yes, that's about right." She frowned as she thought of Pavel, she hadn't spoken to him for a while, by phone or mind, "How odd," she thought.

Pavel? Madeleine decided not to ask. Keeping her mouth shut seemed to be the best option most of the time these days. "Cool," she said. "It sounds like a really good power to have." Okay, dead conversation. "Where are you from?"

"It can be, but other times it's frustating as not many have it unfortunately," she replied, remembering in school one day when she tried to talk to someone, thinking everyone had it, and got no response. "And I come from Russia, what about you?"

Madeleine shrugged. "Here and there. We moved a lot." Understatement.

"Hmm, sure that was quite annoying." Tamika started getting cramps in her legs so unfolded them and sluched down in her chair.

"Not really," Madeleine answered, thinking over it for a second. "I like moving around - I get stir crazy if I'm stuck in one place for too long. Not here, though, I have to much to think about, I don't have time for stir-craziness." Ha!

Madeleine grinned. "I guess it depends on how many meetings Will makes for the Carers, really."

"I think I'm meant to be helped her organise one, but I don't have a baldy about it to be honest." Tamika started scratching her arm, Pavel was trying to talk to her but she didn't want to, and thus, this was how she distracted herself.
