Will stared at the snarling puma before her. She rolled her eys a dived as Madeleine punced. "Fiesty, fiesty, aren't we?!" she sniggered. She punced again but this time Will was ready for her. She shot fire out of her hands and they narrowly missed Madeleine. She seemed put off.

Madeleine quickly morphed back into herself and clapped her hands, signalling a pause. "Will, you really need to work on your aim."

Will sighed and frowned. "Fine let's do more target practise," she said in a playfull annoyed tone of voice.

Madeleine smiled, drawing up more targets and making them float at high speed across the air. "Right, go."

Will managed to get most of them but she missed two. "Ah well it's not to bad!"

"Yes, but you need it to be perfect in battle if you want to hit the mark," Madeleine said, raising them again. "Try again."

Will missed a lot more targets this time. She was starting to drain of power. She fell to the floor and took deep breaths. She raised her head and a huge fire wave blew throughout the room. Will lay on the floor exhausted her powers now drained. She got up and nodded at Madeleine giving her the heads up to keep fighting with her instead of powers.

Madeleine shook her head. "No, rest for a minute." She flopped down and sat on the ground, crossing her legs.

Will did as she was told. She was sick to the bone of arguing. She crossed her legs and started to meditate minus the humming. She was in a world of her own now, nobody could disturb her, she was at peace her mum and dad were with her. They were talking, just talking. She heard a door open. She ignored it. She was playing chess with her dad. A door slammed closed again. She opened her eyes and saw that Madeleine was on her feet. "What's up?"

As Will was resting, breathing heavily, Madeleine's thoughts were wandering. Just random thought trains - battle, chess, castles, and Hey There Delilah were running idly through her head. Then the door opened. Madeleine was on her feet before the heavy metal door was fully opened - but it was only Levi. "What's up?" Will said, coming out of a dream world. "Thought I heard you in here," he said, smiling and coming over to her, putting his arm around her waist and kissing her cheek. Even now, she was still inwardly flinching away. "I was in the middle of training Will," Madeleine answered. "We were just taking a break." His eyes ran over Will on the ground, his expression unreadable, before flicking back to Madeleine. "They have news about Ollie," he said. "The matron wanted me to come tell you." Oh no. That sounded ominous. Ollie's leg amputation was being finished yesterday... "What?" she said, anxiously searching his face for any sign of what this news meant. "I don't know," he answered. "But I think it was good though..." She relaxed, letting out the breath that she hadn't realised she'd been holding, before turning to Will. "I'm gonna have to go - this is really important," she said apologetically. "Tomorrow?"

"Sure," Will looked crestfallen. She was really enjoying herself. "You go on, I'm gonna stay here and practise some more by myself," she said as she removed her armour.

"Sure, thanks," Madeleine said, practically flying out of the room. Levi was at her heels. "Where's the fire?" "I just want to make sure that he's okay," she answered, slowing her pace to a quick walk. "He'll be fine," Levi said, in a soothing tone. She didn't want his reassurances - she needed to see for herself.
