Madeleine smiled encouragingly. "It's good for anyone." She paused. "You don't really want to fight, do you, Will?"

"Yes actually, I do," she said personally. She wanted to get back at the B*stard who killed her father.

Madeleine rolled her eyes, drawing up more targets. There were four groups - and only one was supposed to fight. While Madeleine was grateful for the help, she still didn't want to be responsible for any extra lives, nor did she believe that they should be putting themselves under yet more risk. But there was no point in arguing with Will as she had with Kira, because Will was needed to care in the field, not to fight. It made life much easier. "Right, shoot again," she said carelessly.

This time Will got every single one right in the middle. "Come on Madeleine I've been doing flying targets in battle training class, gimme something harder to go up against. Fight with me," she begged.

"Only if you wear your armour," Madeleine said stubbornly, with the air of authority she used when telling someone off in Battle Training, if they really annoyed her. Her scary tone, Shaun would have called it.

Will was getting thoroughly irratated with Madeleine. "Look just fight with me ok, do you honestly think when there's another battle and I'm out there healing, I'm going to be wearing any aromour? No, you know why I won't? Because I'll be saving everybody's asses, what happens if an enemy breaks through the lines and don't say they won't because they wil. No matter how hard you try or how many people you've got they're still going to break through and if they come after me well I will fight with no armour, sure they'll be better at fighting than I am, like you but I'll still fight without armour!" she scowled her breathing fast and rapid.

Who the hell was she to tell Madeleine what was going to happen in her battles?! "You should be wearing armour!" she said, her tone low and dangerous. "For God's sake, Will, stop arguing with me! I know more about the whole way that battle works - don't you dare tell me that our army isn't good enough to keep them back - we did last time, without any help from anyone else, might I add. I've been the one organising battle training and staying up all night trying to sort out my troops. And about training - yes, my Warriors don't wear armour there, but anyone who isn't a Warrior has to wear it - and you are not a Warrior! You're a Carer, and not only that, you're Head of the Carers - you should be putting your group first instead of being so d**n selfish!" She took a deep breath and stared at Will. "I could kill you without even trying - do you really want me going to your group and explaining that you were dead because you were too stupid to wear your armour?!" God, the stupidity of some people. It was ridiculous. Will was being, in Madeleine's opinion, extremely selfish and obstinate. And right now, that was the last thing Madeleine needed.

"How the hell am I being selfish by not wearing armour?! And guess what, you're not the onlyu one who's been up all night organising things for your group. Kira has too as well as I, and I'm sure Macy has too!" she shrieked. "I KNOW I'M HEAD OF CARERS, I KNOW I MAY BE A BIT SELFISH AT TIMES BUT DON'T YOU DARE FOR ONE TINY SECOND THINK THAT I AM PUTTING MYSELF BEFORE MY GROUP. YOU KNOW NOTHING, NOTHING ABOUT HOW TO HANDLE MY GROUP. YOU MAY KNOW A LOT ABOUT IT BUT UNTIL YOU ARE HEAD OF CARERS WHICH IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN, I MIGHT ADD, DON'T THINK I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE MY GROUP OR THAT I PUT MYSELF BEFORE THEM!" Will's voice rang throughout the room. An awkward silence hung about. All that was heard was Will's deep fast breath.

Madeleine rolled her eyes at the angry Will, which probably just exacerbated her further. "I'm not telling you anything about being a Head of Carers, I was talking about being a Head in general," she snapped. "And if you want me to train you up, well, then you're not exactly going the right way about it. I've got enough to worry about without this."

"Fine!" Will glared. Armour zoomed past Madeleine and wrapped around Will. Swords zoomed over to her too. Katana and dagger. "Ready." she said in a stiff voice.

"Finally," Madeleine muttered, clearing the floor with a sweep of her hands. She stood directly in front of Will, her lack of armour noticeable - and she meant it to be so. She needed to show Will that only the most practiced, quick, and fearless could go without armour. If, after a while of training, Will had proved herself enough to get away with not wearing armour during training, well, then, by all means she could leave it. But rest assured, Madeleine would be watching very, very carefully. She tied back her hair into a ponytail. "Right, shoot at me with whatever you've got."

Will didn't tie her hair back. She hated it tied back. She closed her eyes and tried to get a premonition. Yes! It worked. She quickly did a somersault over Medeleline and they clashed swords. She was good but so was Will. She kept making awkward movements to get out of for the both of them.

As Will somersault, Madeleine quickly drew her sword, anticipating the attack. She'd been expecting a fire attack, but she wasn't complaining. The sword came from its sheath with the satisfying hiss of metal on metal, and Madeleine spun round, clashing her sword with Will's. Will was pretty good with a sword - but as with most things in combat, Madeleine's training excelled hers. She'd been trained along with her brother in fencing by her dad practically from the cradle, and when Shaun took extra fencing training, he taught Madeleine everything he'd learned. She'd learned from the masters. Fencing was actually something she enjoyed - because she could show off a little bit. And she was doing it now, fencing with Will and putting in fancy, subtle little maneuvers, before finally disarming Will and sending her sword clattering to the ground. She shot out a relatively slow airwave in a semi-circle around her towards Will, watching carefully to see how she'd react.

Will knew Madeleine would try something like this. She jumped into the air and pushed herself higher with her power of fire. She created two mini but powerful fire torandos and they zoomed around the room coming very close to Madeleine and then back out again. She loved making tornados out of fire. She finally came back down softly and errupted into fire. She used her hands to zoom around the room and made the room burst into falmes all over. Will could camouflage in this which made it difficult for Madeleine to spot her. Perfect in the battle field. She sneeked up behind Madeleine and was about to trip her up when...

The room burst into flames. Madeleine didn't see the point in telling Will that this could render useless in a battlefield as many of the enemy would control water, and would so be able to douse the flames without much effort. Using her air powers, she soared into the air, above the flames, and psychokinesed a spray of water into the room, dousing the flames. The trouble with air power was that often, Madeleine could only aim to kill. Altering the oxygen particles in the bloodstream, for example, or cutting off the enemy's air supply - or asphyxiating them by twisting the air around their throats. Needless to say, Madeleine did not want to do this to Will. So, once the flames were doused, she quickly shapeshifted into a snarling puma...
