Tamika walked along the corridor looking at the room numbers until she found where she was meant to be. Her heels clicked along the floor as she paced the halls. Eventually her eyes flicked up to a door number that would be her classroom. She knocked the door and slowly opened it. Hoping to be subtle, she looked at the class to see if she had, She hadn't, all eyes were upon her. Slowly she shuffled in to the classroom and stood beside the doorway.
"Can I help you?" Miss Hannigan, she presumed, asked.
Taking a deep breath, trying to make herself less nervous, she replied, "Sorry for being late, Miss, but I'm a new student, Tamika Rotter."
"Ah yes, Tamika. Your lateness will be excused due to you being new, but don't make it a habit. Now, you've joined us at a good time, we're just starting a new chapter."
Tamika nodded, trying to make it seem like she half cared, but despite her loneliness, she just wanted to be sitting under her duvet with a torch reading A Clockwork Orange.
"Tell me, do you know anyone in the class?"
Tamika took a look round, taking in the faces, hoping for one she knew. A second later she spotted Will. "Thank goodness," she thought.
"Yes, Miss, Will Wright."
"Well, you may sit next to her for the first while, and she will fill you in on the course so far, now please sit down Miss Rotter."
Tamika walked with less of a shuffle to her seat, now she knew where she was going. Again, her heels clicked as she walked, which was now quite embarrassing to her.
She pulled out the stool beside will and sat down. After taking a pen and notebook out of her satchel, she set it on the ground. She turned round and smiled at Will, whispering a 'hey' before the artist in her took over and she began a doodle of Jack The Ripper.
She had a feeling her book would be full of doodles. See, she was always enthusiastic about school and loved the idea of it, but when it came down to the lessons and learning, she couldn't care less.
"Miss Rotter, I warn you now, I do not tolerate doodling in my classes."
Tamika heard a few sniggers around the classroom as her pale cheeks began to go a shade of pink.
"There goes that plan..." She thought.
