((seen though Steve's eyes, again))
Steve stared out the window that was opposite his bed, letting his mind drift along with the rain drops that ran down the glass. His head had been sore recently, after coming back. It was strange, everyone was looking at him differently, they hadn't ever looked at him in a good way before, but now, they were almost scared of him. No-one else in the Hospital Wing would talk to him, and teachers kept on coming in and asking him strange questions. "Now, you are sure you never met Deron Miles before?" Professor Thandie would ask him. "No, I have never heard of him." He would reply every time. "Are you sure?" "Why would I not be sure about knowing someone that I don't know?!" He would scream back at them, and usually something exploded nearby. After this, the teacher would usually give up and leave. Steve was annoyed at how they were treating him. He wanted to leave the Wing and go to his dorm, and look at his things. He hated being away from things he owned for a long time, he always wanted to check on them, incase they had been moved. The boys in his dorm thought it was funny to hide his things, or in some cases, set his artwork on fire, but he would usually get back at them by exploding most, or all, of their possessions. His eyes followed the drops of rain that ran down the window, not caring what time it was. It looked like the sun was setting, but it was hard to tell, as the sky was heavy with clouds. He heard someone come into the room, but he thought it was probably the nurse or someone. Finally he looked around and saw that it was Jude. "Oh, hey." He said, casting his eyes back the glass. "What's up?" He asked, realising that he was tapping the side of his bed, nervously.

Tap. Tap. Tap. It echoed strangely across the Hospital Wing; a funny, rhythmic clicking noise. Tap. Tap... Like something out of a horror movie, that tapping. One of those crazy, stupid noises all the characters went insane looking for; hearing; listening to... Jude didn't have that issue though, as he walked up the corridor towards the Wing. The tapping was particularly painful to his ears, and he wished it would stop; but at least it was no mystery to him. It was Steve. Tap. Tap. TAP. TAP... And it got louder, as Jude approached him. Steve himself had made no change in pace, nor volume of the tapping; but it was beginning to give Jude a headache. It seemed to vibrate in the air; quickly, just for a second; before fading away again, and becoming another, louder tap. Endlessly repetitive... "Oh, hey," Steve barely glanced at him. "What's up?" Jude sighed, taking a seat beside his friend. "I... well, I came to see y'all- make sure you were alright, you know?"

"What? Yeah, I'm fine. Headaches, though, and there are loads of bruises on me, that I don't remember having before, but apart from that, never been better." He joked. He hated everyone being so...sad around him. They were all asking him how he was feeling, if he was okay, whatever. He preferred people wanting to be active, to go out and jump in some puddles, or climb a tree, or explode some light bulbs. "I'm just sick having to sit in this bed, not being able to leave. They say that I can go in a few days, though. But you know what?" He said, leaning closer to Jude, so the eavesdropping other patients couldn't hear him. "I heard the nurse talking last night to some Carer, saying that they have to keep an eye on me, cause I might do something. I'm on freaking suicide watch! Like, what is that about? I'm a stinking 'potential flight risk'. Everybody keeps watching me, and then looking over to that wall that I apparently exploded, as if I might break out again. I swear, if they keep doing it, I might as well go. But I won't I know that you and that crew were searching for me." He said realising that he was louder than he wanted, and gave a dirty look to the other people who were pretending not to listen. He looked at the lamp on the table by him, and exploded the bulb. It was the third time that day that he had done that, and they kept replacing it. "But, anyway, what's happening in your life?" He asked, trying to take the subject of himself.

Well, that was all Jude really needed to know anyway... although... He still felt he should explain himself to Steve, and apologize, or something. He couldn't help it. He guessed he wanted to wrap it all up like that. But, obviously, Steve wasn't going to like it if Jude started talking about it all. So Jude decided to concentrate on what he had in his life worthwhile mentioning. "My girlfriend's come back from over Christmas," smiled Jude. "She got back about a week or so back. It's really nice to have her back; I've missed her a lot. Do y'all know Ailith...?" He wasn't sure if Steve did or not. Certainly, Ailith knew him- probably more by reputation that anything else- but whether this was on a personal level or not... He was just curious, he guessed.

Steve shook his head. "No, I don't know her, but I don't know a lot of people. But people seem to know me, it's weird, but I guess it isn't hard to get noticed with multicoloured hair, a strange accent, and exploding things frequently." He frowned. He folded his arms across his chest and sighed deeply. "It's weird, you know, when people know your name, like I'm used to it. Back in Yonkers, I'm no-one, nobody knows me except for a few people who I went to school with, a couple of my family members and Mrs Hung, my neighbour." He leaned back on his pillow, staring at the roof. "But it isn't bad, not getting noticed. You can do what you want, and no-one cares. You just don't make a lot of noise." He said, laughing. He sat himself up again, looking around the room. "It's just so suspressing here, you know. But, anyway, what can you do? Well, escape, but apparently I already tried that. Hey, how's your sister?" He asked, remembering the girl who ate Thanksgiving dinner with them. He hadn't seen, or talked to her, in a while.

"Worried about y'all," Jude admitted. "Like you said... people do notice you. But for Tameron, it's more like a fascination with your hair. You've no idea how much she wants green hair." But Jude hadn't thought it would've been exactly... helpful to Steve if Tameron had come to visit him. So, Jude had lied tactfully to her; explaining carefully that Steve needed rest, and quiet to recover, and so wasn't allowed any visitors... Well. He'd get a kick for the lie later. But still. "When are y'all getting out, anyway?" Jude asked him.

"I dunno, hopefully soon. I'm fine! They just don't belive me. I guess when they realise that I'm not trying to kill myself, then they'll let me go. They just don't trust me. But it's okay. Hey, what actually happened when I ran away?" He asked, He had asked this before to other people, but they wouldn't answer him. He wanted to know what he had done, he couldn't remember much about it. It was all just a random blue of mashed up pictures.

Jude was startled. Hadn't they told...? The answer was already written there in Steve's eyes for him. "Steve... Will forced medication on you," Jude bit his lip. "I'm sorry. I couldn't stop her- she kicked me out of the Wing... but I stayed outside for y'all," he added, slightly heatedly. "Stayed there through the night, when I heard this explosion, and I ran in and you were running away and... argh." He stopped himself, inhaling deeply. "I'm sorry I didn't stop you. I let you escape, and then we spent the past week with the SCR, looking for you." And then Deron... Jude felt a rush of anger. Deron. Now, did Steve know about that?

Steve stared at the celeing above him, at the rafters that came into the middle as an arch. He ruffled his hand though his hair, to make sure it was as messy as he liked. "But yeah, thanks for finding me. And don't sweat about not stopping me, it's fine. I just have to run away sometimes, and after it, I'm fine. Atleast I'm not dead, that's always good. And I didn't break any bones, that has happened sometime, so it's okay. I just want to be let out!" He shouted, intended for one of the Carers who were on duty to hear him. They didn't, or atleast pretended that they didn't, and Steve rolled his eyes and looked back at Jude. "But don't I look fine? I'm fine!" He shouted again, but the person didn't even look at them. Steve got angry, and felt his hair to start to go red. He looked over at the shelf that was at the corner of the room, and saw a big, empty jar, that burst into a thousand little bits of glass. This explosion made someone who had apparently tore a muscle in their foot to get out of practical Elemental Traning, jump into the air. Steve laughed at them, and then turned back to Jude. "I just wanna leave, you know?" He said, sighing.

"I know," Jude sighed, glancing up at the broken shards of glass, which the frustrated-looking Carer was now beginning to clear up. "And I want y'all out... fact is, I'd love to break you out- right now! But-" he grinned half-heartedly, "- I don't think that'd do an awful lotta' good. They'd just bring you back." And back. Again and again. Until they'd decided he was safe. And, Jude had to reason, with explosions like that, Steve wouldn't be getting out for a while. Unsafe. Volatile. A threat. Those were words he'd heard them use. But Jude looked at Steve and... he knew in some weird way, it was true... but he couldn't believe it. Steve was just Steve. Just Steve.

"Aw, that'd be great, breaking out, but it'd just add more reasons to the list that the school has about why I am crazy. I swear, I heard two of the professors talking, and I definatly heard one of them mention the words 'Bonkers from Yonkers'. I hate people my age calling me that, and how on earth am I meant to react when I hear the people who keep lecturing us about 'bullying' and 'treat everybody with respect'. Some respect that is. Seriously, this whole school, bar, like, four people, are out to get me. Some poeple have even told me, that they're out to get me. It's crazy, I tell you. I don't know why Macy is always going on about how the school is so good, respectible, just here to help us grow in our powers. Yeah, this school is much better than the ones in Yonkers, but it isn't that nice when you hear stuff like that coming from the teachers." He said, tapping the side of his bed again. "But, it's okay, if I find the right mind for it. I can't explain it, but I need to be in the right mind to survive. Sometimes I can be in it, but other times, it like it's completely out the window." He said, sighing.

"This school is really good," Jude said determinedly- and he meant it. Goddammit, he hadn't come from the streets- from the orphanage- to somewhere that wasn't any good, whatever Steve said. "People are stupid, Steve. Don't worry about the stupid people. Y'all can't let them take away from just how good this school is." But what did he say to the other parts...? He wanted to tell Steve people weren't out to get him but... he... couldn't. Deron's ugly scowl kept blazing at him from the back of his mind. Deron was living proof people were out to get Steve, but... why...? "And if anyone is out to get you, don't worry about them," Jude said fiercely. "Cause I won't let them get anywhere near you." And he intended to keep that promise.

Steve looked out the window, frowning. The rain had stopped, but it looked like it would start any time soon, again. "Yeah.." He mumbled, tapping his bedframe again. He rolled his head back, watching the room swirl around him. "I don't know." He said, sighing. He would often say theis, when he didn't know how to continue a conversation. He looked over at the nurses office, and saw shadows of someone who was in it, moving about. "I want to go outside.." He said, looking out the window again. You couldn't see much from it, as it was getting dark, but you could see the tops of the trees in the forest. Over to the side of him, further down the room, someone has closed the curtains over the glass doors that led out to the herb garden. "Maybe when I get out, I'll go for a walk down to the lake." He said, thinking about the lake. "Or maybe Cardsdale...but I don't think I'd be too welcomed." He said, half-laughing. "Oh, well. So, um, yeah, and wasn't I meant to draw you something? I'll do it later, okay? They don't let me use a sharpener here, incase I use it to kill myself" He said, loudly, again. He looked down at the ground by his bed, where he had set his art things that Macy had brought down, at the blunt pencil and the annoyence that he wasn't allowed to sharpen it.

Typical. Freaking typical. Jude sighed; giving up a little inside. There wasn't really a word for the perpetual stupidity of the human race; himself, unfortunately, included- although in this case, Jude reckoned he couldn't do much more worse. "I'll do it," Jude said, picking up the pencil from the ground, and then, from the table beside Steve, taking up a metal spoon. He examined it for a few seconds, before, in one swift movement, crumpling it up, and morphing it into a boiling hot sheet of metal. Working quickly, Jude deftly folded the sheet into a sharpener, which he tossed at Steve. "There," Jude said, a little dryly. "They can't complain. I didn't bring you anything from out of the wing."

"Oh, hey, thanks." He said, taking the newly sculpted sharpener and using it on one of the pencils that was lying by his bed. Pleased with the point that it made, he took it, and hid it under his bed sheets. "You know, incase they find it." He exaplined to Jude. He dropped the pencil back on the floor, intent on using it later. "You know, I don't know what's in my meds, but I think they're putting some type of seditive in them. Like, I'm always weird and tired after taking them, it's strange, I'm usually not like that, but I guess they just don't want me attacking anybody or whatever. It's kinda stupid, don't you think?" He asked, rubbing his eyes. thr nurse had just given his injections before Jude had come, and it felt like they were taking action. "Do you think I could leave for a while and get some coffee? I'd get back before they'll notice. Anyway, that'll show them that they have to stop following me twenty-four hours a day." He said, sitting up on his bed.
