((This is set the day after Steve's been found in Cardsdale, and I know it's kinda late, but whatever))
Macy sat in the seat, by the bed of Steve Ritzski. He had been found and brought back to the school the day before, and had been sleeping since then. Macy had gone to her room after she had arrived back, to get settled back to her dorm, and get some deserved sleep, but the next morning she woke up and went straight the the Hospital Wing.
She looked at Steve, who was breathing heavily, his messy hair a deep shade of purple, which went like this when he was either tired, or sleeping.
She sighed, looked away, across the room. It was still quite early, and some other patients were still sleeping, but others had woken up and were eating their breakfast.
Nurse Gonray came out of the nurse's office, holding a murky-coloured drink, heading over to a boy in Spies who was suffering from some sort of stomach problem. He drank the thing liquid that he had been given, but it didn't seem to nice, from the look on his face.
After the nurse had left, the room had gone back to a silence, and Macy looked back over to Steve. He seemed to be starting to wake up, and was turning himself around. Macy jumped up, and without knowing what she was doing, she was hugging him.
"Woah, Macy." She heard Steve say, getting a shock from having Macy suddenly hugging him. She let go, and laughed at his hair, at how green it was.
"How are you feeling?" She asked, now sitting on the edge of his bed.
"I'm okay. How are you? How was your Christmas? I didn't know that you'd be back so soon, it seems like you only left."
"I'm alright, my Christmas was fine, and I got back early because my mum and I realised that we can live together, wha-uh, like, why?" She asked, not knowing exactly what she'd say.
"Huh? What, I don't know." He replied, looking over, out the window that was opposite his bed. Macy got angry at him, at his answer. She lost control of her hand, and slapped him.
"But why? Why?! Why the heck would you do that? Seriously! Like, what were you thinking?" She screamed at him. Some other people who were in the Hospital Wing were looking over at them, wanting to know what was happening. She ignored them, and glared at Steve, who rubbed the icy mark on his cheek, his hair changing from green to blue-black.
"What was that for?" he shouted at her. She felt slightly guilty, for hitting him, but she was so confused at why he ran away.
"I'm sorry, Steve. But I just don't understand. Why did you run away?" She asked him, resting her head in her arm.
"I- I ran-away?! Aw, no.." He said, looking at her, his eyes piercing her.
"Don't you remember? Apparently you were refusing to take your medication, and Jude brought you here, and Will ended up having to strap down your arms and gave you them. And then you apparently blew up the wall and ran away." She said, looking at the wall that was in the middle of being rebuilt.
"I don't remember that. The last thing I remember was being in the Hospital Wing and I threw up, I think, and then I don't remember what happened after that. I do have some weird memories, but that's about it." He said, rubbing his head. "Oh man, I'm sorry." He said, lying down on the bed again.
"But, you really don't remember anything? Not even Deron?"
"Who's Deron?" He asked, as Nurse Gonray came over to them.
"Ah, you're awake. Well, I think we should give you your medication." She said, lifting an injection needle and went to Steve's left arm. "Roll up your sleeve, please." She asked, as he pushed up the sleeve of the hospital gown that he had been put in.
She tapped the needle and then injected Steve in his arm. Macy watched his face, his eyes were staying open without blinking, and he was biting his lip. When she was done, the nurse stepped away, and went back into the office. A few minutes later, she came out with a small paper cup and a glass of water. She set it on the small table by his bed, and walked away. Steve sighed, and first picked up the paper cup, and gulped down the pills that were in it, and followed it with a drink of it.
He shook his head, as the medicine took effect. His hair faded from it's vibrant colours, to his natural light brown. He did look so strange, his hair being so...normal. It didn't suit him, he suited having bright, clashing coloured hair, with feathers or leaves in it.
He sighed, and looked at Macy, who realised that she was staring at his hair. He laughed and ran his hand though his hair.
"You look really tired." He commented.
"Yeah, I haven't been sleeping well recently. But classes start soon, so it's okay, I'll have something to set my mind to."
"Have you had your breakfast?" He asked her. She shook her head and glanced out the window. "Go and get something to eat, then."
"No, no, I'll be fine. I don't want to leave you." She said, and then bit her lip. "I mean, like, incase you run away from here." She said, trying to cover up with a laugh. He smiled at her, and leaned back on the pillow.
"Seriously, I'll be fine. I'll be out later, anyway. No, go and have something to eat, or sleep, or something."
Macy stood up, and turned around and hugged him again. "I'll be back later, okay?" She said, turning around and heading towards the door. She looked back, and saw him waving at her. She laughed, and then walked reluctantly out of the Hospital Wing.
