Will was slipping away from the world. She could feel it. The suddenly she had the weirdest feeling she was flotaing and moving faster away from the world. She was beyond freezing now. If this was what dying felt like...it felt alright. She had always pictured dying in bed an old lady or something nicer than getting stabbed.
Light...bright lights were now hitting her eyes like a thousand knives but she couldn't do anything...she could feel the poison spreading and losing all control of her limbs. She was near the door. Gliding to her deathbed.
Then she saw them. Glowing in a bright white light...standing out from everyone else in the room, through the door. She had to get through the door. This was her only chance too see them, and possibly stay, forever, a big happy family again.
She glided on towards the door. She could feel her soul letting go of her body...ending her life without even thinking about. She crossed the threshold. She was dead. Forever...
"Will, what are you doing here? It's not your time," a familiar sweet voice drifted over to her.
"Will, you have to go back, everyone needs you," a slightly posh voice sounded...both were very German.
"Mum? Dad? Is that really you?" Will turned around to face her parents. She was really here, one big happy family again.
They were surrounded in tiny white lights and they had big smiles on their faces. The first time she saw them smile like that...ever!
"Yes, honey, it's us, in the spirit so to speak," her mum answered.
"Why are you here Will?" her dad asked suddenly.
"I don't know...where is here anyway?" Will asked tears of joy streaking her face.
"We don't actually know, it might be limbo, either that or heaven," her mum's smile faded a bit.
"Ok, how am I here?"
"Well, Jessen kind of....Will, don't you remember?" her dads voice started to edge on the side of worry.
"I don't think so, it's all a little hazy," she paused, "I was in the fireld just beside the forest, Jessen and I were talking, he changed and then it's all very fuzzy,"
Her mum and dad exchanged a quick glance, before her dad stepped forward and bent down a bit.
"Will, honey, he stabbed you with a poisened dagger. He covered you up with snow in the hopes that no one would find you and you would die,"
"So...so, am I....dead?" Will choked up.
"No, you very nearly did though, you were found by another boy...Jack I think his name is?" her mum asked her dad.
"Yes, Jack found you," her dad confirmed.
"Jack..." Will said this in a faint whisper. Her mind tracked back to the snowball fight they had had. Then she had scared him away by saying something that made them both uncomfortable.
"Time, Will, time." her mum spoke softly and brought her into a tight hug. As Will was held close to them both she could remember the faint, sweet, smell of the honey perfume her mum used to wear. The one that had been left behind in her house after they died.
"Will, you have to get back, now, before it's too late, please? We don't want you up here, you don't belong here just yet, please, go!" her mum urged her.
"No, when you died, I lost you and I got lost and I tried to kill myself...I didn't know what I was meant to do and I spent all my time trying to figure a way to contact you but I couldn't and now that I've found you again....I don't want to lose you again, I don't want to go back!" Will was now crying.
"Oh honey, we know, we've been watching you over every step of the way, we're proud of who and what you've become," her mum trailed off.
"A beautiful young lady and a good leader," her dad finished with a soft smile.
"Please, go, before it's too late," Emma gave her a gentle nudge.
"Before I go, where's Anton?" Will suddenly remembered about him.
"Here," Anton stepped out from behind a huge white pillar to the left of them, "God, Will, I've missed you so much you can't even begin too im-"
"Anton, I gave you an order and you disobeyed me," Will turned her back to him.
"I know and I'm sorry, I wish I hadn't now," he replied sadly.
"All bet," Will snapped.
"Will, if there was one thing I could change it would be that,"
"Do you know how much you put me through? Well, do you? After you died, there was nothing but emptyness, nothing but emptyness and I couldn't do anything for days on end but cry. Cry for your stupidity, for your disobedience and for your love!" Will was breathing heavily.
"I know, I know, but I did contact you...through Tamika, didn't I?" Anton walked towards her slowly.
"True, but that's not the same Anton, and you know it," Will was now seething.
"Will, please forgive me?"
"Why?" Will shouted at him. Her parents moved to behingd her and pout a hand on each shoulder.
"Because, I'm asking for it, I want to move on, to my afterlife and be happy, make you happy," Anton was now right in front of her.
"Anton I-" before she could finish Anton was kissing her. She shoved him away, "What the hell are you doing?"
"Kissing you," Anton looked taken aback.
"Well don't, you're dead and when I go back, I don't want to be laden with your kiss and wishing you weren't dead!" Will shouted.
A tremour shook the room.
"What was that?" Will asked clinging onton her dad.
"You died," her mum answered shakily.
"I what?"
"Died," her dad repeated.
"No, I can't have,"
"Honey, if there's any chance of you going back, it's now," her mum prodded.
"How?" Will was wigging out now.
"Just, let go," her dad answered.
"But..." Will tried to start again.
"Listen, you can contact us anytime you want through your dreams,"
"What?"
"Will now!" her dad raised his voice.
Light streamed into her eyes again even though they were closed. She had the strangest feeling she was still floating. She opened her eyes, which took quite a lot of energy. Well it felt that way to her.
"Am I dead?" she whispered.
"No, thank goodness. You nearly did, lucky for you Olivia can lead groups and no what she's doing," the familiar voice of the matron rang through her ears.
"Oh," and with that she was out like a light.
Nurse Gornray walked away from Will's bed and Paul intercepted her along the way.
"How is she?" he asked.
"She just woke up but I put her under sedation again, in case she's in pain, which I would say is probable," Nurse Gornray looked back at the still figure on the bed which was Will.
"That's good, how long do you reckon she's going to be in ehre for?"
"A week or two. I want to be sure the poisons gone and make sure she can recooperate in peace," Nurse Gornray carried on walking down the wing with Paul beside her.
"Matron?"
"Yes Paul?" Nurse Gornray sighed and turned to face him.
"Could I maybe stay here and watch over her? And give you some peace and quiet for a while?" Paul glanced back at Will.
"Yes, you may," and with that Nurse Gornray walked over to the office door and locked it behind her.
Paul silently walked back up to Will's bed and sat on the chair beside it.
"Will, don't ever scare us like that again, you hear me? You're a d**n good head and leader and although you've made us do some...stupid things in the past, you're still good at what you do and I don't want anyone else as a Head of the Carers!" and with that Paul leaned back on the chair and watched Will's moniters for the best part of the night.
