Name:
Madeleine Louise Baudelaire
Age:
15
Physical Description:
Madeleine has chocolate brown curly hair and bright blue eyes, with creamy pale skin. Her feminine looks make her seem cute and defenceless, when she is, in fact, quite the opposite.
She is slim and very small (5 ft 2), with small hands and long fingers, and nails that are often bitten down to the quick (bad habit).
If you look into her bright baby blues, they look hardened, and sometimes cold, as if she's seen too much, too young, and has had to harden herself to cope. This can be quite intimidating.
Clothing Description:
As a warrior, Madeleine doesn't dress in girly clothes; they're not exactly functional. Normally, she'll dress casually, in jeans and a top with a jacket of some sort (she loves her calf-length black leather coat, so it's usually that) and Converse All-Stars, of course.
In case she's ever called to battle, she owns a lightweight mail armour suit.
Only on special occasions will she ever dress "like a lady", and even then doesn't feel very comfortable in it.
Personality:
Madeleine is a born fighter. She's completely fearless, not scared of anything or anyone... except herself.
Much of the time, Madeleine lives in her own wee world, blocking out the "mundane" concerns of those self-absorbed teenagers that she hates, concentrating on the big, important things at hand. Like the war, and learning how to protect herself and those that she cares about.
She has a moral code, and tries hard, all the time to be a good person, and has very firm ideas of what is right and what is wrong. She's a good leader and always considers what is best for other people.
Saying that, she's not an angel, and her fearlessness makes her reckless, so she does do bad things.
Though she's small, she's very powerful, and very strong for her size. She's good at sizing up her opponents and can immediately suss out their weaknesses, and so that's where she attacks.
She's also really smart, which comes in useful, because she can plan her attacks in advance exactly the way she needs to.
And it helps her get good grades.
History:
Madeleine grew up in several different places around the country - her parents, Stephen and Rhiannon Baudelaire were gypsies. She had an older brother, Shaun, who she looked up to and pretty much worshipped. He was her big, cool, older brother.
Madeleine's childhood was pretty happy, the gypsy community was very open, and she was pretty much given a free rein. When she discovered her powers, she was tutored by her mother, who also had gifts, in how to manage them. She was happy. As the little girl of the family, she was treated like a little princess.
She was a bit of a tomboy though. And she got into "scuffles", as her mum called them. She would fight with the little boys if they annoyed her. And she usually won.
Stephen and Rhiannon couldn't really do anything about this - Madeleine's grandfather, Davey Baudelaire, had been a very famous bare-knuckle fighter in his time. The fighting instinct and power had come out in Madeleine and Shaun, and they both loved it.
So much, that Shaun decided to become a bare-knuckle fighter. Stephen and Rhiannon were vehemently opposed to this, because it was very dangerous. Very, very dangerous.
But they couldn't stop him. He'd inherited the fighting instinct and his devil's angel attitude from Davey, but he'd got his mum's stubbornness. He was going through with it.
Shaun never really cared whether he lived or died. This reckless attitude made him one of the best bare-knuckle fighters ever. His name quickly went down in fighting history for his sheer recklessness and deadly force and power. But that didn't mean he was out of danger.
Somehow, the army on the, opposing side of the war got to know about Shaun, and asked him to join their ranks. He refused.
And a week later, Madeleine saw him murdered.
One of their assassins came at night, when Shaun and Madeleine were out walking one night. Shaun ordered Madeleine to hide, and so only he was murdered. Battered with some sort of bat.
Things were never really the same after that. Then the country became more dangerous, and Stephen and Rhiannon decided that the best thing to do would be to send Madeleine to Orchid Hill Academy for the Gifted - they guessed that she'd be safer there.
What they didn't bank on was the resistance groups at the Academy. Madeleine, with her hatred of the enemy and her deadly power that was just as good as her brothers, joined the Warriors, and was soon made head of the group...
Gifts:
Air, shape-shifting and psychokinesis. Her extra power, due to being head of a group, is healing.
Pets:
None. Madeleine flies solo.
Other:
Madeleine loves music and her favourite pastime is sitting in her dorm playing her guitar, at which she reckons she's quite good. Her guitar is her most treasured possession, a vintage 'lite ash' Fender Stratocaster.
Group:
Madeleine is the head of the Warrior group.
