It had happened again. The same as her first night there, in the kitchens with Tamika. That familiar stabbing agony. Identical to the one she remembered feeling so frequently in the duration of her capture.
The first time she had passed it off as nothing more than stomach cramps or something similar and her body overreacting.
The second time she thought perhaps they were just spasms, like the tremors after an earthquake, her body was remembering that pain and having a knee-jerk reaction.
But this was the sixth time in two days.
Mercifully the corridor had been empty and Misa had picked herself back up once she could see clearly again. It felt like they were getting harsher. Or maybe she was getting softer.
She slumped against the wall getting her breath back and finally she swallowed her pride. She would need to go to see a carer.

The moment she entered the sterile smelling environment she was quite ready to turn tail and run. It was probably nothing, I'm just being irrational, Misa tried to convince herself, holding her arms over her stomach , protecting herself from the clinical room.
Misa hated hospitals.
It's nothing, she decided and turned to leave but a hand clamped on her shoulder making her gasp and she turned round to find herself looking at someone who was undoubtly the resident matron. She just had that air about her.
"You must be new, I haven't seen you before. I'm Nurse Gornray. Now, what brings you here?" The woman seemed to have this speech well practiced and Misa wasn't quite sure how to respond.
"Oh, I, er, I'm fine really, I just-" She babbled, squirming out from beneath the woman's hand. She knew the Nurse was only trying to be polite but she felt like a caged tiger ready to pounce.
"Don't be daft. What's the matter?" The woman seemed entirely unphased. Before Misa even realised she was being guided to sit down - the nurse had her hold once more.
"It's, well, my stomach. I keep getting this stabbing pain in my abdomen." She said and immediately wished she hadn't.
"There we are," The nurse pushed her down onto a bed. "If you want to just pop your jacket off then I'll have a look for you." The nurse said turning her back and busying herself with something or other.
Take off her jacket. But, she was only wearing a spaghetti top beneath it. Her scars would be on show...
"No." She hadn't even realised she was saying it out loud.
Before the nurse could stop her or even reply, Misa fled the wing calling over her shoulder as she went, "It's probably nothing." She hoped.
