Oxygen

[Josh Cole]

Josh inhaled, before putting the mask with the delivery tube leading to the oxygen tank over his mouth and exaling into it.
This oxygen was for storage, but Josh knew well enough what it was like to have to be the only supply for an actual, working oxygen machine.
After all, he'd just done that for Madeleine while she was out, hadn't he?
He inhaled carbon dioxide again, before breathing a stream of pure oxygen into the mask. This was the only power of his that really made a difference. Most people were unimpressed by it, but Josh could and had saved lives with his backwards breathing.
Saving lives was the only reason he liked being in the Carers.
The door opened, and he glanced up from the mask to see Will walk in.

"Wonder who I put on today," Will muttered to herself as she pushed open the door into the Hospital Wing.
She walked over to the supplies cabinet to see if she had forgotten to put anythign on the list that they needed.
"Nope, looks like I got everything," as she pulled her head around the cabinet doors she noticed Josh over at the oxygen tank.
"Hey, how are you?" she called up to him.

Josh breathed into the mask again, watching the oxygen swirl and liquidize in the tank.
"Little out of breath," he replied in his soft, quiet voice, smiling gently. "How are you?"

"Fine and dandy," Will sighed and walked over to him, "How does that work? the breathing backwards and all?"

[Josh Cole]

Josh took a deep breath before breathing into the mask again. "I'm not actually sure. I got told that I photosynthesize, but it's not exactly like that. I just... breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. That's why the air feels clearer when you come and talk to me."
He blew out a stream of pure oxygen again.

Will wastched him with interest. It was quite peculiar.
"Cool," she shrugged, "I'm sorry about the other day, I was just frustrated and I know you had a lot of work to catch up on, sorry,"

Josh looked up at Will cheerfully. "It's fine, don't worry about it. I wasn't in the best mood either."

Will relaxed as she saw Josh smile at her. A very cute smile.
She coughed and plnked down on the floor beside him.
"So have you gotten all you coursework finishde then?"

[Josh Cole]

"Course not," replied Josh, groaning suddenly. "Maggie and I are going to spend all day in the library tomorrow. Has to be done."

Will groaned as she remebered about her biology coursework.
"Darn," she muttered angrily, "I hate coursework!"

Josh sucked in some greenhouse gas and exhaled clean gases again. The whole thing was pretty darn cool. Being able to do this was awesome. Saving lives. Being a life-saver, a life-giver.
Didn't that make it all worthwhile?
"Find me a person that doesn't, and I'd pay you," he muttered.

"I probably could you know," Will grinned.
She flopped down on one of the beds and closed her eyes.

"Depends how many Academics you know," he grinned.
Wow. A rare joke.

Will laughed at that.
"I know quite a few but I couldn't be bothere looking for them right now,"

[Josh Cole]

"Hmm," he said, before focusing on the tank again.
