Macy felt her head swimming of thoughts of the past few weeks.
the dance..the torturer..the voice..the pain..Natalia..Madeleine..fighting...arrow.... She was trying to collect all her thoughts but they were all just a mess. As if she was watching a movie that was getting stopped and started in the strangest places.
She opened her eyes fully to get a good look at her surroundings for the first time. She was in the comfiest bed she had ever lay on, her head resting on a pillow that felt like a cloud..she didn't want to get up. The brightness of the window infront of her made her squint her eyes, but apart from that, she felt like she was in Heaven.
"Well, hello." A voice came from her right. "How are you feeling?"
Macy turned to find a girl, about her age, sitting beside her bed, looking at her. She had dark blond hair that was straight and went down, just past her shoulders. There was a few scratches on her face, but she was smiling.
"I'm fine." Macy replied. Her voice was cracking and sore as she talked. "What happened?"
"Well, we were rescuing you, but you came out fighting...literally! You changed into a tiger or something, ran back here, with an arrow in your shoulder, I might add, and fell to the feet of Professor Hoodham and Parmida. It was amazing!" the girl exclaimed.
"I..did?" Macy hadn't realised all what she had done to get out of that place. "What..what do I look like?" She asked to question that she dreaded the answer.
The girl paused "...you're a bit worse for wear, I suppose." She picked up a bag, dug her arm in a second and came out with a mirror. She handed it to Macy who took a deep breath and looked at herself.
Macy gasped at her face; She had a fat lip, a large black eye, large scrapes on her cheek, her hair was very dirty and tatty, her skin was greasy, and, grotesquely, her left nostril seemed to be split.
She set down the mirror and ripped the sheets off so she could see her body. She had been put in a light blue hospital gown, but you could see the large bruises on her arms and she could feel them on her stomach and chest. Her legs were grey coloured and her knee's had large marks on them.
Without warning, she broke down. Tears began to stream down her face and she let out a large scream of all her hatred and anger for the people who did this to her.
"Shh, it's okay, it's okay." the girl said, putting a hand on her shoulder. Macy screamed again and yelled "GET OFF ME!" She started the throw her arms about, to get the girl to stop touching her. The girl snatched her hand back quickly and Macy could feel her fear.
"Sorry..sorry.." The girl kept saying. Macy kept crying and put her hands over her eyes so she couldn't see the light. She wanted everything to stop hurting...she wanted to die.
