Winter Wonderland

[Axel]

Axel walked through the forest absent mindedly, there was no reason for his pondering through the school grounds, but he felt that he had nothing else to do. The forest seemed to have transformed over the cold season as it was decorated with frost and sparkled like stars when light touched it. It was beautiful scenery, never had something seemed so clean, it could of been due to the majestic atmosphere created by the winter wonderland or it could of been because the forest seemed to have a tantalizing effect at this time of year, it was as if the forest was beckoning you with prized goods, but actually had nothing to offer except it's trees and mud. Axel stopped, he heard a snap as his right foot touched a stick that had been resting on the forest floor, he looked around and examine his surroundings. The cool air that was flowing through the forest like a wave of water made his unnaturally pale skin have an unearthly glow. It resembled a full moon, so pure and bright, but only appeared on rare occasions. The air had been nipping at his straight angled nose, creating a soft redness at the tip of it, his lips had turned the coolest shade of pink as the frosty atmosphere smothered them. His emerald green eyes were electric in the forest as the light sparkled happily in them, his eyes were so intriguing and drew you in just like a predator would draw in it's prey. His scarlet hair was the way it always was, his hair never changed but the white sky reflected upon it, giving it newly found tones that varied from amber to the deepest shade of crimson. Axel was wearing his long, jet black cloak due to the lack in temperature, it was tight fitting and seemed to cling to his extremely slender body, except at the hips where the pockets lay, the coat seemed to sit out more and hung off him like a parachute. The coat hung an inch of the forests floor and brushed over the frost and any patches of snow and caused the rim of his coat to become damp due to as soon as the snow touched him, it immediately melted. Axel placed his hands in his pockets, he was wearing black gloves to match his coat but it did not seem to be helping to escape the cold, he sighed and watched his breath evaporate into a translucent mist that swept around his face before completely evaporating into a thin gas. Axel looked up into the white sky, it was going to snow as a thick blanket of it had wrapped itself smugly around the sky. Axel looked down again, he wasn't sure why he had travelled out this far, he was new and only just arrived, but he wasn't lost he knew where he was, or at least he knew the way back to the castle. He wasn't sure if he was alone or not, he hadn't been in the castle long enough to interact with anyone. He listened intentively but could not hear anyone near, he walked up to a nearby tree on his left, his black converse made mall crunches as they touched the floor, the tree had been painted with twinkling frost and sparkled like a Christmas tree did. He leaned against it, he coat paying the price for his action as the frost turned into water as soon as hit touched the coat but Axel ignored it and waited.

[Alice Everwood]

Alice pondered through the forest aimlessly, she was new to Orchid and had wanted to see the scenery the school offered. She was wearing a white long coat that had cream faux fur around the neck and on the inside of the coat, the coat had a hood that was down and hung over her slender back. The coat covered most of her body in a pleasing warmth and stopped at the top of her feet where she was wearing cream ugg boots. Her blood-red hair was down and was left to tumble of her shoulders or to rest along her back, the wintry atmosphere gave her hair a lighter tint to it so it wasn't as deep as it normally was. The cold breeze was welcomed by her skin which had turned a lovely rosy-pink colour and made her look angelic around her surroundings where everything was white. She hand her arms folded to keep warm and her hands were concealed in cream,soft gloves, Alice listened as her boots created a crunching noise every time they hit the forest floor which had been painted with frost over the night. Alice studied her surroundings, her deep blue eyes resembled a clear pool of water today as the cold air swept over them, giving them a glass-like effect. Suddenly she stopped, only about 20ft away from her stood a figure leaning up against a tree, she watched them anxiously for a moment as she wondered whether or not to go up to them or to just turn around. Her mind was made up and she brushed her side fringe out of her eye and started walking towards the figure, she hadn't met anyone yet in the school and she felt that they might as well be the first ones she met. As she drew closer to them, she noticed it was a guy and he had the most outrageous styled scarlet hair, she had to look at him twice as he looked like a porcelain figure standing there. She was only a couple of feet away from him so she stopped.
'Hey'she smiled, her breath was turned into a clear frosty mist and swirled around her.

[Axel]

Axel swiftly turned his head as soon as the voice hit his eardrums, his electric green eyes fell upon a girl who was standing only mere feet away, she looked oddly like an angel compared to him, her face was pink and rosy, her hair was dazzling under the reflective sky and she was wearing mainly white and creams, very fitting for the season. Her aqua blue eyes stood out the most, they were like rippling pools of water that was clear in the cold breeze. He was taller than her by few inches, so he had to look down a bit to catch her eyes. 'Hey, I'm Axel'he smiled, revealing both rows of his perfectly straight, white sparkling teeth as he slipped his right hand out of the warm pocket where it had been resting and held it out for her to shake.

[Alice Everwood]

Alice smile cheerfully and took his hand, she was stunned for a moment due to the warmth it created, it was as if his hand was a radiator and the warmth seemed to comfort and hug her hand. 'I'm Alice,nice to meet you.' she managed to say and sadly she had to let go of his hand, bu the warmth seem to stay witch her for a moment, clinging onto her fingers before being swept away by the brutal cold breeze. She studied him for a second, amazed that he was real as it seemed like he should be in an art museum, his skin had a moon like glow to it, his features were so perfect, his nose had no bumps and was just straight, he had two black teardrop like tattoos that were positioned equally and symmetrically on his face as if they were painted on a canvas and his eyes...they were what shocked her the most, they were so alive and were so...tempting that she couldn't like away from them, they were pulling her in, almost hypnotizing her. She found it hard to concentrated and and her words came out unclear,'A...are you...ne...new here??I...I j-just arrived.'

Axel gave a short laugh and immediately knowing what made her stutter he looked away from her, breaking their eye contact as a wave of guilt came flowing over him. 'It's my pleasure meeting you.' he smiled, and looked at her, he couldn't help himself she wasn't exactly the kind of person you could ignore, it would be a sin to ignore someone as beautiful as her. Another wave of guilt flowed over him, this time clinging to him, almost suffocating him, but he couldn't look away, it was dangerous for him to be so attracted to someone but he couldn't stop himself, it was near impossible. 'You're new?'he breathed a sigh of relief knowing that he wasn't the only new kid around the block,'Yeah, I'm new too. I only got here about 2 maybe 3 hours ago.'he nodded.

Alice smiled, she couldn't stop herself, she didn't know whether it was because this guy was totally cute or she knew that she was making a complete fool of herself. 'At least we can be new together.'she said without thinking, only seconds after saying then when it was too late she kicked herself. That was meant to remain in her head and know she knew that she was making a complete fool of herself in front of a guy who she fancied. 'I'm...I'm sorry..I...'she gave up, it was useless trying to makeup for it, the damage was done and she couldn't take it back. She had dug herself into a ditch and if she didn't shut up now, it would soon be the mantel of the earth.

Axel laughed, again revealing his pearly white teeth,'I'd like that.'he smiled when he noticed how pink Alice had gone. 'I'd like that alone, anyway it's best we don't face this jungle alone, right?'he asked as another cold breeze swept over him, blowing his hair back and making his face tingle. He slipped his hand back into his pocket in an attempt to keep his fingers warm.

Alice was shocked by his answer, she imagined that he would run away or convince himself that she was his own personal stalker. She looked up at him, his face was in a gentle smile as he patiently awaited her answer, his eyes were caring and had toned down a bit from the first time she saw them. A warm feeling swept over her, a comforting feeling that clung to her body and made her feel warm and cosy, just like his handshake had done minutes before. 'You're right, we can't go through this on our own, can we?'she beamed up at him as if he was her bestest friend in the whole world.

[Axel]

'That's the spirit!exclaimed Axel as he smiled at Alice. He paused and thought for a moment before pointing his right index finger at her, 'I know!'he grinned,the excitement returning to his eyes again. Axel dropped his hand and began rummaging through the pockets in his coat, moments later he pulled out two small pieces of metal that glittered under the light, he kept them in the palm of his right hand with his fingers curled over so that Alice couldn't see.'Let's make a pact that we'll always be there for each other.'he smiled as he dropped one of the pieces of metal onto the palm of Alice's hand.

[Alice Everwood]

Alice peered down onto the palm of her hand where lay not a piece of metal, but a silver key, it sparkled magnificently in the light like tiny stars were engraved onto it. It wasn't like any other key, it had three-crown like points on it and it was made for another key to attach itself to it by clicking int place. Alice felt overwhelmed by the gesture and acted in impulse and hugged him. He was so warm and radiated a comforting wave of heat,her mind went blank and all of her worries seemed to fade away. She would of held onto him forever if she had the choice.

[Axel]

Axel was pleased about her and was slightly shocked when she hugged him, she was uncommonly cold but wasn't freezing and found it pleasing as it cooled him down. The cold air did nothing but irritate him though this sensation was like no other, he wasn't overly warm like before as his body temperature was regulating. He found it sad when he let go of her as his temperature immediately rose making him fell as if his skin was on fire. 'To the start of a new friendship.' he laughed as he held up his key that connected with Alice's in a pretend toast.

Axel laughed at the cheesy moment, 'To the start of a new friendship.'she beamed as she held up her key also as a stream of light hit the keys and they sparkled merrily.
