After saying goodbye to Shaun and wishing him all the best Tamika began jogging back to the school. The jog quite warmed her up after standing not moving much for a while. As she entered the school she continued jogging to the girls dorm area. When did this school become so big… She thought, finding herself out of breath already. Relief swept over her as she reached her destination. Now to see Maddie… Tamika stopped in her tracks. She couldn’t remember which room Maddie lived in. Oh noez! Wait, she’s in the same room as Will, which is… 16! Hazaa! She tapped lightly on the door, “Madeleine?” She said quietly, so to be heard but not be too loud.

Madeleine was on a little bit of a high, she had to admit. Lee had finally recieved a response from his parents - and it was far more positive than that of her own. They were... they weren't going to tell them that they were doing the wrong thing, that it was a mistake; they really believed that it would work. However, with that high, came nervousness. They were coming over soon... and if Madeleine wasn't mistaken, they were expecting someone French. French. Okay, yes, her great-great grandfather was a Frenchman (hence the surname), and she was fluent in the language... but French she was not. And of course, then there was the blatantly obvious - she wasn't good enough to marry Lee, and his parents were surely going to see that. And what if they didn't approve then, and- Okay, chill. Before your blood pressure goes to ninety. Madeleine shook her head, as if to rid herself of the thoughts, and lime-scented water droplets flew from her dark, wet curls. She picked up her towel and started drying her hair off, noting that her top was drenched already, and she'd only just put it on. A tap sounded on the door, and someone called her name. Frowning, she put the towel down, and went to the door. "Oh, hey Tamika," she said, relaxing once she'd opened the door.

"Hey Maddie," Tamika smiled, as the door opened. Her smile then disappeared as she starting thinking about how Madeleine would react. "Uh, I have a message for you. From... Eh, Shaun..." Tamika quickly said. This was one of the first times she had to really do this. She had read about Doris Stokes having to pass on messages, and the people normally cried. Hopefully that won't be the case... Crying people weren't her strong point, 'spose she couldn't stop Maddie's emotions though...

Maddie... It was funny. Lee's habit of calling her by that nickname seemed to be being picked up by other people in their year, so it was probably a good thing that she'd gotten over her thing about being called it. Still, it always felt a bit weird when other people said it. She didn't really mind, it just felt slightly odd. She'd never been widely known as Maddie before. Then, Tamika's smile faded, and Madeleine's did too, going into a concerned expression. What was wrong? Then, she said... "Uh, I have a message for you. From... Eh, Shaun..." It was a little reminiscent of what Misa had said, but Madeleine knew that Tamika really could contact the dead, and... Shaun had gotten into contact? He really... really had? Her heart leaped, because she'd been wishing so much that she could have his approval; but there was another emotion there too, that prevented her from smiling. "Em... you'd better... come in then," she said slowly, trying to order her thoughts.

Tamika gave a small smile and nod of thanks, walking through the opened door and standing in the room. Sentences formed in Tamikas head then went away again as she thought of the best way to start, since she could guess that saying 'Hey, your dead brother sends his best about the engagement' would be a bad choice. That extremity of blunt probably wouldn't fit. Finally some half decents words came to her. "So, in case you're worried or anything the message is mainly good, except..." She sighed. "This is the last message you'll get from Shaun," Tamika said softly, her voice with a hint of sadness that Madeleine wouldn't have anymore contact with him.

The last... No. No. Madeleine shook her head. No way, not possible. Of course this couldn't be the last time - Shaun wouldn't do that to her. Never. He was always going to be there, he was. He was her brother, for goodness' sake - No, Tamika must be mistaken. But what if... She ignored it, eagerly sitting down on her bed. "What did he say?"

Tamika stood awkwardly in the middle of the room, playing with her evil eye bracelet. “He um, he said, congratulations, you made the right choice. He loves you and is really proud of you. And until… V… Val… Valhalla?” Tamika told her, trying to think if there was anything else that she was meant to tell her. “Oh yeah! Cecelia said she likes blue for the bridesmaids…”

Madeleine stayed still for a moment, perfectly still, and perfectly silent. He... he... It was okay? It was... really okay? Someone else believed it too? Shaun believed it... And he was with Cecelia again... "He..." Her voice was almost a croak. "He really... he really said that?"

So this is why emails were invented... Tamika thought, this couldn't have been any more uncomfortable for Tamika had she been perched on top of a cactus. "Uh yeah, that was his message," Tamika replied, with a small smile.

Madeleine rubbed her forehead. He really had... he really had gotten into contact. He didn't... it was okay. A surge of relief rushed through her at that. It was... he was... She was doing the right thing. But behind the relief, and the joy, a little nagging undercurrent of uncertainty was flowing. This was... could this really be the last time? Like... she'd never be able to hear from him, or speak to him again? She glanced up at Tamika. "Thanks, Tamika."

"So um, yeah. I'll go and let you be alone... And when you see Lee, could you tell him Shaun said welcome to the family? Thanks..." Tamika stood for a moment before leaning down and giving Madeleine a quick hug. "See ya Maddie," she smiled, opening the door and exiting down the hallway as quickly as her legs would take her.
