Wow... He'd never had a girl care about him that much. He'd had two previous girlfriends but neither of them had gone too well. He'd been dumped for being too immature with his first and he'd broken up with the second. It was a horrible and messy ordeal but at least there wasn't as much feeling as he had with Isolde. As Isolde listed the things she'd miss most he closed his eyes, listening to her softly spoken tones, and carefully pressed her delicate frame ever closer, laying his lips on her head to feel her brown silk hair breathing in her own scent. "I'll miss you too." He whispered, "But I'll always have time to reassure you. No matter where you are, ok? I promise."

Isolde took in a deep steady breath. She closed her eyes and just let Scott's breath on her head calm her down. I'm dying inside. I hope your happy mum and dad..you're killing me slowly. Not even the Fibromyalgia can cause this much pain. she gulped and steadied herself. She hated this. "I know you will." she spke softly, refusing to let her voice crack with the sadness she felt, "It's time for me to go." and even though she said this, she stayed rooted to the spot just staring at him. The warmth from his hands travelling across to her's was a godsend. She felt so cold..numb even. She didn't want to leave. Her feet refused to move. "God, this is horrible. I'm so sorry Scott. I'm sorry for the pain you must be going through. I wish I never had to cause you any pain, and I'll try my best not to do so again." the tears just wouldn't stop now.

“It’s time for me to go.” Scott automatically tensed his hold on Isolde at her words. But he discovered there was little point. She moved not an inch and made no effort to break free of him. She was still crying. It made Scott feel his heart sink to his feet and it was frustrating that there was nothing he could do to make it stop. But oddly, as upset as they both were, Scott couldn’t help but notice how beautiful she looked. Maybe it was because this was the first time he’d ever though of her leaving him for more than a day and it made him look at her more intently. He studied her face as if trying to capture in his mind her strikingly defined features and glassy blue-green eyes, framed beautifully by her long rich brown hair. Isolde spoke again, "God, this is horrible. I'm so sorry Scott. I'm sorry for the pain you must be going through. I wish I never had to cause you any pain, and I'll try my best not to do so again." “Hey, you never worry about me. You got that? All you need to worry about is looking after yourself for me, since I won’t be there to do it myself. Alright?” Scott pressed her head under his chin again as he felt a sharp lurch in the top of his chest and held her tightly till it passed. This was so stupid. He’d be seeing her again. He knew it. Why should it hurt so much? Scott frowned as he made a bold decision, which may not be easy to do but perhaps in the long-run would help them both. “Isolde,” Scott leaned back to look into her face, “I’m… I’m not going to say goodbye to you anymore. I’ll speak to you everyday, or at least try to, you know me. And as soon as I get the money I’ll come and see you… So really… we don’t need to say goodbye.” Scott stepped back and pulled her hands from him to hold them in front his chest instead. For some reason he couldn’t look into her face as he prepared himself to speak his last sentence to her in person for lord knew how long. “I’ll go for my jog now. You go and get ready. I’ll phone you tonight.” Scott released Isolde’s hands, turned, and walked away to the kennels to get Corey. He barely made five steps before he turned on his heel. He almost forgot something. He walked back to Isolde and kissed her quickly on the lips. He opened his eyes and spoke to hers, “I love you.” He strode away again briskly and with purpose, knowing if he looked back, that’s where he’d go.
