"The Steve story is enough. I'm glad you've nothing to add in that aspect." They rounded the corner and began along the corridor to the Common Room. "Did you get a chance to use your Stetson much?" Ailith laughed, she had got a lot of use out of her necklace.

"Yeah, I have," Jude laughed. "Awesome present that; I don't know how y'all will top it with Valentine's Day coming up. If you like though, that can just be it. Seriously, that thing's worth a good few birthdays." No matter what Deron said, that little piece of- Never mind. Jude glanced at Ailith instead, and concentrated on her instead; and concentrated on the smile on her face. Inwardly, he sighed with relief, drinking in. Thank goodness she did have that calming affect on him; and she did it so easily. All she had to do was turn her lips upwards and... well, she had a pretty smile, was all. He looked away now, and down the corridor. They were coming up to the Common Room now... and then they'd be at the Dorms...

Ailith opened the door of the Common Room, pushed it open with her back and stole a glance at Jude. She couldn’t help but smile. She couldn’t quite get around why he waited so long for her, surely he had better things to do with his time, she was sure the majority of boys wouldn’t sit there waiting on their girlfriends for hours. But Jude did, he sat and made sure that Ailith came back welcomed. She felt so lucky to have a guy like Jude thinking about her. She just hoped he knew how much she thought of him. Maybe they should say things out loud. But then, did they have to? Ailith walked into the Common Room, “Aah,” she sighed, “feels good to be back.”

Jude followed behind her, closing the door, smiling softly. Yeah, it did feel good to have her back. Now, Jude felt like things would be better; get back to normal. Jude watched her for a couple of seconds as she took in her surroundings, then, cleared his throat. "Should we go upstairs?" He didn't want to take up too much of her time, was all.

"I suppose so." Ailith replied. "The sooner I get unpacked the better." Ailith stopped and considored this for a moment, "Or I could leave it until later when I could be bothered, wot choo-what do you reckon?" Aargh! Ailith's accent slipped a little. "I always gets broader when I go home." Ailith smiled and rolled her eyes. "Ah reckon tha' it migh' be best if y'all go get it all out of the way firs'," Jude replied, rolling his eyes as he emphasized his Texas drawl. "Don't worry about it, Ailith. It's kinda' sweet in a scary East London way." Ailith laughed hard, "Yore tha firs' lad to evah say tha' yoo knouw. Oi've gone roight off." She let it loose. The accent she strove to quell in the murky depths where it belonged, bottling inncoent people and screaming drunken abuses. How could Jude find that sweet? She smiled to herself when she turned to pick up her bag, "Yeah so anyway are you coming?"

"You almost make it sound good, then," Jude winced, the terrible power of her accent hitting him full-blast. Maybe he should re-phrase. It was real sweet whenever hints of it dropped into her speech. And he was talking real subtle hints. Because, clearly, no-one, not even Ailith could make that sound good. And Ailith tended to make that kind of thing good. "And... er." Was he coming? "I can't," he reminded her. "Girl's Dorms, and all that. Make me seem a real pervert, if someone saw me hanging about there." It didn't feel like the right answer, somehow.

"Yeah that could look a bit dodgy." Laughed Ailith, "Forgot about that one. Well I'll be back in a minute and I do mean a minute. You can time me." "I don't need to." Jude laughed his reply, "I do believe you" Ailith smiled and made for the door eager to be away and back. She yanked open the door and was about to bolt down the corridor when Jude's voice called her back, "Hey Ailith!" She reversed and turned all in one motion and shoved the still closing door open again, "Yeah?"

"Yeah?" Yeah, Jude, what? In his head, maybe, some half-formed plan had popped into place; some mad desire to kiss her; or hold her; or say something cheesily appropriate. He'd been determined not to be awkward about it too. But it was hard. She made him blush far too easily. So, Jude, the coward, chickened out. "Nothing," he forced himself to smile. "Just glad you're back... is all."
