The question made a sad smile come to Nadia's face. She hadn't thought about her dog in quite a while. She frowned as she thought about what her parents had done.
"I used to, a dog,... but she... uh... had to be put down... I don't have any pets now though... what about you?"

The frown and hesitation before she answered....he knew she was uncomfortable about speaking about it and knew she was going to think of some twist to put in it.
"No, I don't have any pets, unfortunately," he smiled grimly.

Ok to Nadia it was clear that their attempt at conversation was failing, failing badly. She was getting quite bored now to be honest. Not that she didn't like meeting new people... Maybe she should try again... for politeness' sake?

"Brilliant. We get to go out on missions and spy...obviously and Kira really knows what she's talking about. She can be very strict on us but she know how to get things done," he smiled, "A great Head."
"I reckon you'll like the Academics. Macy Deltine is a lovely girl and she is very intelligent, are you excited to start working in your group then? and what do you think of the school so far?"

WEll Spy training sounded fun... Nadia didn't really know if you would describe the Academics as fun... but she did enjoy herself... but ....

Jet had suddenly seemed to have sprouted a tongue... weird. Maybe he too had sensed the failing conversation and decided to make things more lively... or maybe he was just weird.
"Yeah I havn't seen much of Macy but I've heard she's nice enough, obviously smart, she is the head afterall. I am looking forward to it but... it's going to be weird at first, I'm not used to working... i don't really know how to put it...no I don't know. I'm used to working in a group but not... I reallly can't word it..." NAdia just couldn't get the words out, whatever the words were. "Yeah Orchid's amazing - what I've seen of it so far anyway. I'm so glad I decided to come hear... It's just amazing... How long have you been at Orchid?"

"Yes, it is really quite extrordinary isn't it?!" he agreed to her statement just before her question.
"Wait till you've learned more about it in your classes, then you will start to fully aprecciate it."
