Macy came out though one of the back entrances of the school that opened onto a flower garden. A Carer was bent over, digging out a small hole, with a plant pot sitting beside her, with some small Forget-Me-Nots, or Myosotis sylvatica, she thought to herself.
It had been over a week, since she had talked to Anke. And Steve.
Infact, she had advoided everyone, except for her roommates. She just didn't want to talk to anyone, she didn't know what she had been told had hit her so hard. She just wasn't expecting it.
She walked further though the gardens, looking at the little flowers that her blooming around her. She was trying her hardest not to freeze them, as they were so pretty. She almost felt bad if she did coat them in frosting without meaning to. They were so nice, she didn't want to hurt them, it wasn't their fault, it was hers.
She sighed and walked on, feeling the slight breeze brush her skin as she went. Macy felt so peaceful, walking though her school's well kept gardens.
"Macy! Macy!" She heard someone shout her behind her. She knew who it was, but she still turned around, to make sure. Seeing Steve run after her made her all the more angrier at him. She turned back around, and without thinking, she transformed into a crow, and started to fly from him, but she still heard him shout at her from below her. Suddenly something near her exploded, catching her wing, making her fall to the ground.
She changed back into her normal self, and jumped backup, despite her arm being cut "Macy! What are you doing?!" He shouted, as he ran up to her. Seeing his face, his dark blue hair with the leaf sticking out of it, near his ear, made her so angry. She stormed up to him, and without realising, she threw an icy punch. He quickly ducked, but she tried again, and hit his stomach. She continued to fight him, punching and trying to slap him, until he grabbed her wrists, fighting her back. She fell back, and he let go of her wrists.
"Sorry, I forgot that you don't like that." He said, rubbing the back of this head.
"What do you want?" She asked coldly, rubbing her own wrists.
"Well, I haven't seen you in ages. Like, I think I saw you at lunch the other day, and I'm pretty sure you saw me wave, but it looked like you shoved an apple in you pocket, and walked out. And when I come to you room, you've never there, even when I am sure that you are, and I was just...worried. Are you mad at me?" He said, now walking beside her. She made no answer, but continued you walk on, near the edge of the path, looking away from Steve, over the Herb Garden.
He sighed, and tried to walk closer to her, but she stopped walking.
"Did you kiss Anke?" She finally said. He stopped walking too, and stared at her.
"What? How'd you, eh, find out?" He asked, messing up his hair with his hand again.
"It's true?!" She screamed at him. She turned back, and started to walk towards the school.
"Wait! No, Macy, you don't understand! Macy, wait!" He shouted, running infront of her, making her stop walking.
"What, Steve? What is it? Please, explain." She said, gesturing to a tree trunk near the back of the gardens. They sat down together, and Steve set his head in his hands, trying to think.
"Macy." He finally said, She looked up at him, straight into his eyes, hoping that he would feel how hurt she was. "Macy, I'm not going to lie, Anke did try to kiss me."
"Wait- she said that you kissed her! And then you asked her to the Christmas dance, but you had to settle bringing me!" She shouted, standing up and about to walk away, but he grabbed her wrist, dragging her back down.
"No, Macy. She kissed me. But I electrocuted her. I wasn't expecting it, I didn't like it, though, and that's why I sparked her."
Macy didn't know what to say to this. She sighed, and leaned her head back.
"Macy," He continued. "I have only been kissed by three girls in my life. You, Anke, and Georgia Holloway. Georgia was at a boy called Danny O'Kane's birthday in the 4th grade, I think his mom made him invite me, but anyway, we were playing 'Spin the Bottle' and it landed on her, and we were forced to kiss, but I think she enjoyed it about as much as I did. And then Anke kissed me in battle training, but I shocked her. And then you kissed me, that day when you wanted me to electrocute you. You were wearing a pale pink shirt under a beige cardigan, and a pair on jeans that are faded at the knees. You hair was tied up in a pony tail, but it was very loose, but it fell out when I had to bring you into my room. And your mascara was running slightly, because you had been crying, but you looked so pretty. And you kissed me, well, after slapping me, but you kissed me, and my hair went white, and it doesn't go white that much. But, no, Macy, you were the only kiss I ever had that I liked. Okay?" He said, looking at her, into her eyes. She felt slightly woozy at what had been said. She then felt bad at punching him.
"Oh, Steve, I don't know what to do about us. Like...I'm sorry about the accusations and the punching, but, augh, I don't know.
Okay...I don't want to be a proper...couple, like boy-friend and girl-friend, because what happens if we break up? I want to be your friend. Can we be...like...quiet? I mean...we don't have to say what we are, we just...are. Like, do you get me?" She asked, looking at her feet.
"Yeah, I think I get what you are talking about. We don't need to explain ourselves." He said, smiling. They were silent for a minute, as Macy watched a few people walk though the gardens, on the path that headed out towards the forest.
They were both looking off into different directions, but suddenly. Steve turned around, grabbed the back on Macy's head, pulling her over to him, and kissed her. He let go, finally, to look at Macy's shocked face.
"Sorry." He said, looking away, in embarrassment. Macy continued to stare forward, not breathing.
He stood up, about to walk away, but Macy stood up behind him, and grabbed his hand, ignoring the small electric shock she got from him. He turned around, about to say something, but before he could, she grabbed the back his head, like he did to her. She pulled him over to her, kissing him. She tried her hardest not to freeze his lips, as she felt him try to earth all the electricity in his body. She heard something explode near her, and finally she pulled away. She looked at him, at his hair that had gone white again.
"I have to go." She said, turning around, not wanting to look at him. She started to walk away, before Steve called for her again.
She turned around to see what he had to say. It looked like he was trying to push back a grin.
"Macy, think about it to yourself, why were you so angry anyway, if I had kissed Anke?" He asked her, before turning around and walking down the path that led into the forest. As she was walking back to the school, she was sure that she could hear laughing echoing in the distance and some explosions.
She then started to think about what he had said. Why had she been so angry at him?
She wasn't jealous, or anything.
Was she?
