Jet sat by a table on his own. Looking around the huge hall. He'd never seen a place so packed in his life, nto even at christmas! He stuck his fork back into his mashed potatoes and started playing about with it. He didn't feel like eating much anymore. It had taken him quite a long while for him to find the Hospital Wing, even if he had asked many people and he had had a map. When he had gotten there the nurse had treated him kindly but very quickly and now he was in a world of his own and in heaven from the pain he had had. Jude, the first person he had met, wasn a nice guy and hopefully he could be a friend of his. He threww his fork down and slumped back on his chair and stared out into space for a couple of minutes before pulling out a small pad from his bag and a pen and carried on drawing his dragon rider and her dragon flying over a forest which was supposed to resemble on in his town back home but was failing, it looked more like the forest outside the entrance doors to this place. He sighed and carried on.

Tamika walked into the dining hall and stopped dead, the place was packed. “Fick,” she muttered to herself, she walked over to the food and saw absolutely nothing that looked even half appetising. Sighing, she grabbed an apple and some chocolate milk and went on a hunt for a seat. After a few minutes of wandering and saying hello to people she knew she found an empty table barr one lad sitting there. She approached the table and saw he was drawing. “That’s really good,” she commented. He looked up, seemingly startled. “Sorry, mind if I sit here?”

"Er, yeah...sure," Jethro glanced at her and then moved his feet of the other seat. "Thanks, it's nto that good, I've done better..." he looked at his drawing, "Much better," He pushed his food away from him. "I'm new here,"

"Thought so, I'm Mika," she smiled, sliding into the seat opposite the boy. "I must say it's nice to encounter another person interested in art," she added, piercing the straw into her milk carton and taking a sip.

Jet snorted,"I couldn't live without art, I can also play the drums and guitar both acoustic and electric. I'm Jethro but call me Jet," He gave her a small nod and went back to his drawing.

"Pleased to meet you," she smiled before pulling her book out of her bag and opening it at her last page. "Quite cool you can play them, I tried to learn an instrument but lost patience so stuck with singing," she laughed slightly.

"Really? Let's hear you then," Tamika gave a worried glance around the hall, "They won't hear you, they're all to wrapped up in their own conversations to care!" Jet smiled. "Go on then," he prodded.

Tamika looked at Jet nervously, she hated singing in front of her family let alone a hall full of mostly strangers. After about a minute she thought Jet was right, and began singing. No one seems to love or understand me And all the hard luck stories they all hand me Where somebody shines the light I'll be coming home tonight Blackbird, bye bye By the end of the few lines she was sure she that she looking like a tomato from blushing.

"You're amazing at singing," Jet smiled happily at her, "Most girls wouldn't even do it no matter how much I tried to flatter them," He took out his guitar and tuned it. "Now, do that again and I'll accompany you," Jethro started palying the introduction into the song and nodded at Tamika to start.

Tamika leaned back in her chair and gave one of those 'as if' laughs, "Jet, mate, if I do that again my head will no doubt explode from the amount of blood going to my cheeks." She took her milk carton and drank some of it. "Do you know the song or are you one of these people who learn by ear?"

"A bit of both," Jet laughed, "Your cheeks are the same colour they were when you sat down," Jet winked and chuckeled. "Go on,"

"Really? Surprising." She looked at him smiling at her with his guitar, "Oh fine then." He began playing the intro again and nodded at her to start. Pack up all my cares and woes, Here I go, singing low, Bye Bye Blackbird. Where somebody waits for me, Sugar's sweet, so is she...

Jet joined in with her. "Bye bye blackbird No one here can love or understand me Oh what hard luck stories they all hand me Make my bed and light the light I'll arrive late tonight Blackbird, bye bye.." They carried on to the end of the song. "Don't underestimate yourself Tamika, it's never a good thing," Jet frowned at her. "You're a dammed good singer!"

Tamika knew then that she was now blushing slightly, "Thanks. You're really good at singing and guitar, your voice reminds me of Samuel Barnetts," she smiled. She felt quite embarassed at being complimented by a guy she just met, she wasn't used to it... She then raised an eyebrow with a slight smile, "How'd you know Tamika's the full version of my name?"

"You're bag and you're jacket," Jet smiled and laughed. "I look," he noticed her blushing a bit. "What? Don't like being complimented?" he raised an eyebrow.
