"Oh," Jude was silent for a couple of seconds. "I'm sorry about that."

"It's ok," she paused, "Well it's not ok but I'll live," She started wondering how many customers there'd be in the shop. "Hmm,"

"Hmm? You stuck?" Jude glanced over, then back at his own book, where he was just wrapping up Question 2.

"Please?" Isolde looked at him a little desperately. She was fairly good at history even though it wasn't showing but it would as soon as she settled down.

"Sure," Jude nodded, writing down the number '3', then twisting in his chair to look at her. "What do you need help with?"

"I don't get the whole Hitler hating the Jews thing," Isolde looked at him then at the book. "I hate not understanding things,"

"Um... it's just... really... he thought that the German race was supreme- the Aryan race; y'all know," Jude shrugged. "Blond hair, blue eyes, pale skin- and anything less was inferior- especially the Jews."

Isolde shrugged. "Nice guy," she said sarcastically, "Some of my ancestors were Jews," She shrugged again and finished of the first question. "You're a really fast writer!"

"Meh!" Isolde blurted out when she saw what number he was on. "Is something wrong Isolde?" she heard the teachers voice ask. "No ma'am," she replied. "Ok then, if you need help just ask," "I will, thank you ma'am," Isolde looked up over at her. She turned back to her book and kept on writing but it was no use. She was just to tired to do anything. The room was stuffy. "Is it always this stuffy in here?"

"Always," Jude sighed, stretching back in his seat. "The window never gets opened." It sucked too. Issie looked a little bit flushed. "Want me to ask to open a window?"

"No, it's alright, I'll do it," she said running her hands through her hair. She walked over to the teacher. "Yes, Isolde?" "Sorry, ma'am but I was wondering if I could open a window?" she tried to look a little more flustered but she was definately not pretending to bit hot or flushed. The teacher eyed her for a couple of seconds then swiveled round in her chair to look at the rest opf the class. "Who wants the window open?" and to her surprise nearly the whole class raiseed their hands and some looked even a little desperate, "Alright, you may open one or two windows but that's it!" "Thank you, ma'am," Isolde's manners kicked in again. She walked over to the windows and opened them but on the second one she sat for a few minutes before returning to her seat. "That's better," she smiled.

"Assertive," chuckled Jude, as she re-joined him. "I'm impressed, Issie." And polite the whole time too. She said "ma'am" more than him; and that was saying something!

Isodle laughed. "Why thank you kind sir." she responded. Well she was getting on with someone on her first day. That was big. Nobody paid her much attention when she was home.

"Kind sir?" Jude was beginning to really like this girl. "Y'all don't have to call me sir, lil' lady!" There was nothing more fun than having such a thick Texas accent...
