"Or make." Ailith suggested, "I like homemade stuff. It means more to me then." She was secretly praying he would consider that option, rather than spending that amount of money on her. "Oh, and for the record, if we're going to give each other soppy petnames we definately have to think of better ones." Ailith shuddered, "In fact changed my mind, actual or nicknames only. Deal J.D.?"

"Whatever you say, baby," Jude laughed, his mind already off and wandering down the route of homemade presents. Was it cheating to ask Steve to draw him a picture and then pass it off as his own...? Logic told him yes. It also told him that would be stupid. "One problem," he paused, mentally spelling out her name in his head. "What exactly am I gonna call you? Did we settle on 'AR' or something..?" The thing was, 'Ailith' sounded just plain better to his ears- and he wasn't so keen on the idea of calling after his girlfriend like he was a pirate. Pirates were overrated, anyway. He made an awesome cowboy.

"Call me baby again and I take the hat back. I promise." Ailith told Jude firmly. Response was immediate. Jude's hands flew to his stetson and he held it to his head tightly, "I'll keep that in mind." Ailith laughed hard, Good present then!. When she'd finished she managed to sigh, "No, the 'AR' thing was just an interesting observation if I recall." "It was," he laughed. "As was J.D. But that sounds better." "Infinately! But really, you can just stick to plain Ailith."

"Thanks," he said, relieved, then glanced upwards at the swirling storm clouds. His inner Scrooge growled, and made some stupid reference to a type of mint sweet that Jude had never particularly liked. Apparently, the villagers felt the same way. They were looking up and down, and the stalls were beginning to shut down. "You know," Jude said slowly. "I think everyone could benefit from something homemade this Christmas..." He glanced at Ailith again. "I still don't know what to make you, though."

"Yeah. Erm ..." Ailith cocked her head and pursed her lips, "Mmm, well I suppose I don't have any form of real jewellery to use for the Christmas Formal so I suppose that would be handy. I have some metal if you need it."

"No," he shook his head. "I've got Lee. He can conjure me up something."

"OK. Is that alright? Would you prefer me to choose something less fiddly?" "Anything you like." Ailith grinned and the singing they'd heard in the background began again, as they'd found shelter near-by. It wasn't a carol that Ailith knew so she paused and listened. "...Gonna climb up to my saddle Gonna take him to my heart There'll be a new world beginnin' from tonight.
Right across the prairie Clear across the valley Straight across the heart of every man, There'll be a right new brand of livin' That'll sweep like lightning fire And take away the hate in every man." "Saddles and prairies. Sounds like your kind of..." Ailith began. "Yay! Yippe! Were going ride the trail. Yay, Yipee! We're gonna ride today. When I climb up to my saddle Gonna take him to my heart!..." Ailith bit down hard on her lip to stop herself going into hysterics, "Yep!" She grunted, "Definately sounds like your kind of carol!" She looked up at Jude unable to make out his expression through tear-filled eyes. "Let's go. I'd rather take a shower indoors."
