The 'innocent' look on Jack's face was a little less than convincing, but Lee knew that though Jack may joke, he would never dare make those sort of wisecracks about his Head behind her back. Madeleine was probably perfectly aware of this too.
Getting to his feet along with her, Lee straightened up, and nodded feebly.
"Yeah. Um. I guess we'll just... leave."
"Probably best," Kira mumbled, closing her eyes.
As Lee and Maddie both turned and walked away, Lee repressing the terrible thoughts that were currently tormenting him as best he could, he still couldn't stop himself laughing aloud when he heard Jude's take on the whole thing.
"You know, Jack, if Olivia was your cousin I'm willing to bet a million bucks it still wouldn't stop you."
