That shrug alerted Madeleine immediately to what he was planning. "Want me to come too?" she asked, glancing at Jude to see if he was wary too.

Did he trust Lee? Not a chance. But did he think Maddox coming too was a bad idea? Hell, yeah. "Lee?" Jude said, raising his eyebrows as he surveyed him. Lee's blue eyes met his, and his expression a mirror of Jude's. Jude sighed inwardly, then looked back at Maddox, and shook his head. "I don't think so, Maddox."

Madeleine chewed on her lip, debating with herself, the two sides of her brain arguing with each other. If he didn't want her there... "Fine," she said, a little hurt. "But if Nurse Gornray doesn't know what to do, you will go to Professor Hoodham, right?" It wasn't that she didn't trust Nurse Gornray - after all, the woman had kept her alive! But Nurse Gornray could fix the physical, she couldn't help the mind. And Madeleine knew that Professor Hoodham would be able to fix it.

Lee nodded, and Jude stepped in front of him, looking earnestly at Maddox. "I won't let him get away with anything less."

Madleine wasn't stupid; she knew that Lee had no intention of going to Professor Hoodham. She could use the girlfriend tactics, but that felt like a low blow, and she wasn't about to manipulate him like that in front of Jude and Brian. She didn't trust Lee here... But she did trust Jude, no matter what he'd done during Battle Training. She silently mouthed the word "Promise?" at Jude, waiting for an answering nod.

One nod. And they were all back to normal. "In the meantime," Jude said, hoping to steer them all away from this unpleasent topic. "Has anyone here seen my copy of Catch-22?!"
