"But..." Lee was still a little bit lost. "It's a dress... aren't they all just the same? You know, white with a veil?" As the words left his mouth, Lee realised just how stupid that probably sounded to her; a girl, and someone who, simply by being a girl, would know just how many variations there really were on a wedding dress, a scarf, a pair of jeans and... well... He felt a bit ignorant.

Madeleine laughed. "Aw, you're clueless, aren't you? If Olivia heard you say that, she'd have the skin flayed off your back and would be dragging you to a shopping centre. For a start, you can't just have white. Do you know how many different types of white there are? Like white, off-white, snow-white, chalk-white, mist-white, oyster, opal, ivory-white, blossom-white, chiffon-white-"

Lee smirk grew wider and wider as she went through the list, but the second she hit opal he knew she'd gone too far, and it was his fault for letting her get there. So he'd have to stop her, and stop the madness. So Lee saved himself from the world of colours and clothes; he kissed her, and shut her up. "Better," he grinned, pulling away.

Madeleine was surprised by his kiss... but that wasn't to say that it wasn't a nice surprise... He pulled away, grinning at her. "Better." She chuckled. "I take it you'd prefer me not to mention anything about colours or clothes during this whole process, then?"

"Talk about it as much as you like to Olivia," Lee said. "But I honestly don't think I can cope with it. All I have to do is show up, right?"

Madeleine chuckled as she leaned against him. "Well, not exactly. You'll have to pick colour schemes with me," she said, with a wicked smile. "And you need to pick a best man and tuxes, that sort of thing... thank God we've got a while to prepare for this..." And suddenly, Madeleine felt a pang, realising that her mum was going to have to play a major part in this... But what if she didn't come round?

"Best man," Lee muttered. "Um... god. Right. I'm assuming you're having Olivia for the whole Maid of Honour deal? Then Jack can be Best Man. Appropriate, right?"

Madeleine laughed, but now slightly apprehensive. "That's all the thought you're putting into it? And I haven't chosen my maid of honour... would Kira like to be a bridesmaid? You know, seeing as she's my friend and your cousin, it seems appropriate."

"Maddie, calm down," Lee said as soothingly as possible. Maybe joking about the wedding wasn't the best of ideas. Apparently, she'd already been putting some thought into this to have already begun to think about accomodating his family, never mind her's! "We don't have to worry about it yet," Lee reminded her. "Look, when Mum and Dad come over, and they've met you, my mum will be full of suggestions and help. That's when we start worrying about the details. Let's be glad that we're getting married- that's all I need to know for now."

She smiled at him, pondering this. "We've got all the time in the world," she finally said, dreamily, relaxing against him. Dangerous to say, maybe - Madeleine knew better than a lot of people how easy a life could be cut short. Much too short. But she knew this was how it was going to be. Not maybe. It was going to happen.
