Madeleine laughed. "That must be awful. Is he nice, Lee?"

Kira grinned. "He's brilliant! I absolutely love him to bits! He's like a brother, you see. We spent a lot of time together when we were growing up. He can be a bit cheeky, and makes a lot of... ahem, unsavoury jokes- but he's also got a more respectable sense of humour behind them. I've always told him he's far too nice- he hardly ever gets angry, but you know when he's hurt because he tells you. He's okay about talking about what he thinks and feels; and will argue back if he disagrees, although he manages to keep calm while doing this and... sorry. Right. Em, I'm boring you, aren't I?" She laughed awkwardly. She hadn't meant for that to happen. It was just... she'd gotten carried away she supposed. Madeline was looking at her strangely. "Sorry," Kira repeated. "I'll introduce you some time."

"You're not boring me," Madeleine smiled. "He sounds lovely." And he did. The guys that Madeleine had known in the various gypsy camps had most definitely not been like that. The ones that Shaun had hung out with were mainly aspiring bare-knuckle fighters, and she tended to stay away from his friends. The other guys she'd known were typical teenage guys, girl obsessed and horny. Needless to say, she tried to avoid them too, but sometimes that didn't always work... Though, there were the odd nice guys on a couple of sites, and Madeleine had enjoyed "talking" to them, and had struck up a couple of brief "flings" with them, but since they all moved around, they never lasted long. And of course, the only guy she'd met here was Levi Ryder. Enough said. Kira said that Lee was like a brother to her, but Shaun hadn't really been like that. Shaun was lovely, but he had a quick temper, was as stubborn as a mule and was very sarcastic. Madeleine respected him, but he never stopped teasing her. He loved her, but he had a wicked sense of humour. But they got along well, and all teasing was in good nature. They never fought, ever. They were very alike, in personality and looks. Both took after their dad and his typically Romany looks, except for Madeleine's bright blue eyes, which came from her mum. She smiled at Kira. "I'd like to meet him. He'd be a far cry from the guys I'm used to."

Kira relaxed into a smile. "Really?" She knew Lee was lovely, but she hadn't expected that kind of comment. She knew quite a few nice guys around the school. They were mainly Lee's friends, and so, inevitably, her friends. Of course, a lot of them were idiots, and often seemed to sort of pull themselves up the arrogant idiot meter as soon as she or any other girl came within 20 metres of them, but they sort of drifted in and out of Kira's consiousness. She was good at ignoring people. "You can't have met too many nice guys then," she said, slipping her hand into the pocket of her jeans and pulling her mobile out with a flourish. "I'll text him and he can come now, if you like. Generally, I call and he comes running. It works the other way too. He calls- I run. Nice little system."

"Sounds it," Madeleine laughed. "But guys aren't allowed in our dorms, remember? It's in the dorm rules."

"They... aren't..." It took a few moments for this to register with Kira. "Oh. Well. I'll text him and find out where he is and we'll go and find him." It was in her head now anyway, so she was going to do it without Madeline or not. She tended to be impulsive; and although it could sometimes end in grief, she didn't see anything wrong with it this time. Lee was bound to like Madeline. She seemed really nice.

"Okay." Madeleine bunched up her knees and waited for Kira to text him. She really wanted to meet Lee - he sounded so nice. Then, something popped into her head. "Does he know about you being a group head?" If he did, then by proxy he'd know that Madeleine was a head, because she was in Kira's dorm. But as Kira's cousin, he would be trustworthy. Besides, the whole school would know soon enough...

Kira nodded as her fingers flew across the tiny key pad and she pressed 'send'. "Of course he does, I couldn't not tell him." She paused. "That's okay with you, isn't it?" Madeline was spared the trouble of answering, because suddenly Kira's phone began shaking and a tinkling noise like running water was emitted from it. 'DOWN IN COMMON ROOM WITH MATT. COME DOWN IF YA WANT.' Kira beamed at Madeline. "He's in the Common Room. Come on!"

Madeleine grinned at the sound of Kira's message tone. It was running water, and for some reason, it just fitted her like a glove. Maybe it was just because she was a water bender. Kira beamed across at her. "He's in the Common Room. Come on!" Madeleine fixed the laces of her Converse, jumped off the bed, and followed Kira out of the room.
